Hi, I've been using Windows 7 Media Centre since it was released (Vista Media Centre prior to that) and have always looked at my 10 year old Panasonic IDTV remote as having a lot of buttons to power on the TV, turn it to AV and adjust the Volume Up and Down! WMC functions are normally completed by a comprehensive HP RC6 remote and I had a Harmony 1000 but as my two Panasonic TV's are 6th generation and had a number of configuration issues the Harmony was boxed up. I am trying to setup a Harmony remote with FLIRC/WMC and noticed some inconsistencies between what is documentd by FLIRC and Microsoft re: keyboard shortcuts for WMC. Hi, trying to get a WMC remote to work well with FLIRC. I am using a Harmony 650 with a Media Center PC profile. Issues I am having are the keys seem to be at a tiny bit of a delay and/or I have to press twice to get the action to happen (up, down, etc.). Sometimes it doesn't work at all. WMC remotes are pretty popular so I was hoping there would be some good guidance on the forums but couldn't find anything that helped. I also played with interkey-delay and moving the HTPC/Flirc into a cabinet under and away from the TV...no difference. Does anybody have a similar setup working correctly and/or some suggestions to improve the situation? Thanks

Recently purchased 3 FLIRC for media centers in my house. I wanted to use my existing At&t remotes since I no longer have At&t. When I use the At&t remote in the At&t mode, I keep receiving that button already exists when I haven't programmed the button yet. When I press the no programmed button, it blinks other buttons that have been programmed. Is it possible to use this remote with FLIRC? I have tried programming this on firmwares 2.3, 3.3, and 3.5. I'm using Win7 OS.

Hi, I'm trying to get the flirc (3.4) running together with the Windows media Center and the Logitech Hub. The normal Key (Cursor keys and 0-9) are working fine for me, BUT all Special keys combinations are problematic. If I set Inter-Key Delay lower than 5, then the WMC receives ALL key twice or never. Is the Inter-Key Delay greater than 4, then the normal keys are working fine. Keys like CTRL+O are only works sometime. The suspend button needs a Long-press instead of a normal short-press. Does somebody have a similar experience and hopefully a solution for this? Thanks in advance Marc

I have Logitech harmony smart hub (With smart control), Flirc (Latest firmware 3.3), Minix X8-H (Latest fimware 002A). Using the XBMC profile I succeed to map Play, Pause, Stop and info. However, Rewind and FastForward not working. These commands are not present on the original remote anyway but Minix have added these IR codes at the latest firmware. Can someone please explain if there is a way to fix it? Thanks in advance!

I have all the basic keys on my remote working just fine, and I've made a few tweaks (though haven't synchronized them with the remote as yet). Adding the device & activity via the Logtech Harmony software was the hardest piece...and it has nothing to do with FLIRC. However, OpenELEC has a Home "icon"/function...which I assume could correlate to a button press (maybe Guide or Exit on the remote), however, the XMBC profile (if I'm using the right term here) in the Harmony software (which is a PITA to setup sometimes), doesn't show any extra "keys" that I could use to assign to my free buttons. I have a Harmony 700 remote and Flirc on my Raspi. Through myharmony i already select Flirc XBMC profile.... Now, the issue is; for the first few minutes I can use the remote. after that, the remote cannot be used to control the my Raspi anymore. Sometimes I need to plug out the Flirc and in again, then it will work for a few more minutes. Anyway I already used a better Power Adaptor for my Raspi, bought it from modmypi. Do anyone have this issue??? Will wait for response before I start testing using the TV Profile. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, I am a new user of FLIRC. I bought the adapter to remotely control my VDR running on a Raspberry Pi with my Harmony 785 remote control. I loaded the Panasonic TV on the remote as recommended in another forum and mapped all relevant buttons using the "Full keyboard" preset. At first I wrote down all recognized keyboard keys in VDR using an USB keyboard directly connected to the Pi. Then I programmed these keys using the FLIRC GUI on OSX. The FLIRC has FW 3.3 on it. I held the remote approx. 1m fron the FLIRC dongle during training of the commands. When I now put the FLIRC dongle in the Pi, it indeed DOES recognize my remote control key presses, but …

Hi, I've just FLIRC to use with my Boxee Box, which I installed Boxee+Hacks and XBMC. I have a Harmony Ultimate which I use with my setup and was really nice to discover that Flirc already has a default profile for XBMC setup, so I've selected that. Problem is: on the default profile (and I do believe this is an issue on Logitech's side) some functions send the same IR signal ('page up' and 'direction up', for example), so I will need to teach new signals for some keys anyway. I was able to confirm this by pluging Flirc to my Mac and firing up Key Codes to view which keys are being pressed. My question is if I've selected the correct profile on Harmony…

I just got my Flirc and so far love it. It works great with my old Tivo remote and my Samsung TV remote, but when I try to program buttons from my Fios remote I constantly get messages that the button was already used. Sometimes retrying it will get it to program, but it never actually works. However this remote is sending signals it seems Flirc can't distinguish which button is pressed reliably. It sounds very much like what was reported in the thread in the following URL. Any thoughts?

I had all sorts of issues with this combo initially. Major lag in the menu's button pushes not being recognised, menus would freeze for 10-15 seconds etc. We were coming off a Mac Mini 2011 running XBMC under OSX so the issues were very noticable. The XBMC Remote android app had none of these issues (when used in parallel). Content was coming from a NAS over gigabit LAN that has no speed issues (read speed can continuously stream over 50MB/s, often much higher in tests writing to an SSD). My Missus and kids hated it. Hello, I am trying to use flirc, with my "old" remote that i have got with my PC Asus My Cinema P7131-Hybrid, (i do not have the models of the remote for the moment, but will post it). In fact, the problem, is that the when i press a touch, it does not works a lot of time, i have to press it a long time. I know that it is not the flirc problem as i have tested it before with an other remote (not mine) and works gread, so it's related with this remote. i recently bought the flirc usb so that i can control my asus chromebox. i went and deleted chrome and installed openelec [gotham]. its updated to the latest stable release. every other remote that i program into the flirc works perfectly... So I tried to use one of the best remotes ever designed... a Tivo remote. My results were pretty good, only real issue I had was there were a few buttons that appeared as though they recorded correctly but seemed to be ignored once I got into Media Center. Strangely enough when I go to record the button again it says it is already recorded.

I can see a lot of info on here regarding the Harmony 650 so apologies for starting another thread but I have had no useful success following any of the advice. I currently use an old Sky remote with FLIRC to control XBMC and all works great but I invested in the Harmony so I could also control other hifi boxes and turn off all the system at once. However, its not working half as well as the old remote did. I'm using 2.6 stable version on Ubuntu 64bit. I've chosen allow built in profiles in the advanced settings which is the closest thing I can find to all the mentions on here of a Harmony profile being built into FLIRC post 2.4 builds? Hello guys, I am new here and trying to grasp as much info as possible. When I heard that this little thing works with any remote I was quite excited. I have an old optimum (cable vision) remote here and I was thinking it would be perfect to work with my amazon fire. It also have the the tv on/off and mute button. Finally I can stop using two remotes. An I got my flirc today but can't get it to control the fire tv nor my windows 8 desktop with the remote. It says it records the buttosn but doesn't do anything. I am not sure what I missed. If I use my lg remote, which can easily do the job, the buttons work except ff and enter(ok).

Hi everyone, bought a flirc usb to setup with my rc118 media remote control. Struggling to set up certain button. I thought this would solve remote issues, but it seems like alot more trouble that its worth - may send the flirc back to amazon who i bought it of if i cannot resolve the issues. trying to set the remote (full keyboard) with xbmc. first it wont record f8 - mute button with the corresponding key on remote 2nd it wont record f10 - volume up with volume up on remote. also start button wont work on remote, trying to set xbmc power button but it wont register. please help. Hi Guys, I am having an issue with the flirc / harmony one / openlec combination. I have setup the harmony using the flirc / xbmc combo in the my harmony software. I have added a wake and suspend/shutdown key which works. The one last issue I am having is as follows. quick keypresses on the harmony don't seem to be registered by the flirc. If I slightly hold down the key, that seems to work with no issues. For example...I am on the main menu of xbmc...if I quickly tap the left arrow nothing happens, but if I press and hold it momentarily it works. Are there settings that will help this behavior as it's annoying. Regards, Paul

Hi, I am looking to order a Flirc to work with my TVonics remote to control my openelec raspberryPi. Is this possible, if I configure this remote to work with openelec, does it mean that the button presses will work on both devices at the same time. Wouldn't want that to happen, as I want to know that while I'm watching tv, I'm not sending messages to play things in XBMC in the background. Can anyone advise me, would be much appreciated?
