This topic will most likely be useful only to Finnish users, since the Procaster 8-in-1 remote is a product of a Finnish electronics store Verkkokauppa.com. I bought the remote to control my Raspberry Pi with Flirc. Here's what I used to configure the remote: First I defined the device to be controlled as a DVB. Then I selected Skymaster model 301 from the list, since it was the first one I found that had all the buttons usable. Then I just selected the XBMC layout from the configuration application and defined the buttons. It's a pretty nice basic remote, especially since it only costs 10 euros. The sides are made from a rubber of some kind, so the grip is qu…

Hi all Anybody in the UK managed to have any joy with Flirc and the TalkTalk remote for their YouView box? It seems to get confused with the rubberised direction buttons and maps them all as the same button.

I did have a apple remote - but they are so small i just keep loosing it!! So i have a Harmony One Remote... Is this right? I initially set up a device for this using the Harmony Software (Will use TV as the example) - the buttoms will actually not control any device at this stage. Do i then use Flirc to setup the remote...? Is it as simple as that? Will be trying this this evening.. Any help pointers appreciated .. Sam

I looked for a few for this but cant seem to find it so please don't kill me if its under some sticky or faq. The controller option for XBMC in the GUI, does anyone know specifically how these are mapped? For instance on here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Keyboard Mute, and Parent Folder are not an option so which keys are used? Thanks, Clad

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a flirc dongle to use in the following hardware combination: apple remote + acer revo + windows 8 + xbmc, will this work flawlessly? I just sold my mac mini and bought the new revo from acer and I would like to keep the remote (works pretty nice in xbmc). Can I expect it will work as good as with the mac mini on this windows based htpc? Thanks in advance rhodesfreak

I have a problem with my FLIRC and the GE 24116 remote where most the time it doesn't respond to any key presses. I tried unpluging and plugging back in, restarting the GUI and clearing the configuration and nothing worked. Here is the configuration file. Considering purchasing Flirc. I have a new HTPC with no IR receiver yet. I am looking for a remote control solution that I can use with my existing Harmony One remote and my Logitech Revue keyboard/mouse from my google tv that I never use. Any thoughts or experience is greatly appreciated.

I've noticed this does not happen at all with my TV / Cable Box turned OFF. Vizio TV and an IPN330HD (UVerse). Is this normal? Is it the sensitivity of the Flirc or is the cable box and/or TV being naughty?

Having a heck of a time getting the flirc to play nice with both xbmc and mc7. I does anybody have any experience with using this reg file? http://xbmccustomreg...ourceforge.net/ Just trying to make this as wife proof as possible before I leave on business. mc7 strictly for live tv. xbmc for everything else. I am confused in the order in which all steps should be taken and which options to use. Basically everything. In the logitech software - add media center pc -> microsoft -> se. In the flirc software which configuration option do I use? windows media (which has no up/down chan buttons btw)? Full keyboard? xbmc. I have configured this option a…

My dog recently chewed my expensive Harmony 700 remote so I'm reluctant to spend that sort of money again!! I was thinking of FLIRC but wanted to ask if anybody in the UK has been able to get the Sky+ or SkyHD remote to work in a multi device configuration? I have a Pioneer TV, Devon AV amplifier and xbmc on W7 to control. Also, is it possible to configure a single button to toggle POWER ON/OFF for 3 devices? Thanks TBird1

I just set up my flirc this week. I'm using the Onkyo remote model RD-570M in DVD mode with XBMC.This is such a fantastic piece of hardware! My only complaint is total failure to recognize when I hold down a directional key. I have worked around the issue by mapping the pgup and pgdown keys to the channel button on my remote. This lets me quickly jump through my list of movies. Is there anything I can do to get 'multipress' to function? Other than that I would like to be able to map a key that could act as a switch between the d-pad controling the arrow keys and the mouse cursor. Something like a 'toggle' key that would allow for my remote d-pad to control the mouse i…

Hi; Thanks for the great help around here. I have tried to setup Flirc and my Harmony One without success. I have read many installation procedures and I am confused. I have programmed FLIRC with keyboard layout but keys needed to be pressed twice to work, and even though the delay to execution was huge (so I canned that one). Next, I programmed MCE Keyboard and MCPC in the remote and linked them with an action to launch XBMC automatically using WIN-7 command and then use the keyboard layout i programmed. That did not work either... WISH LIST: Have XBMC as a command in remote When pressed a) I need TV on and HDMI 3 selected …

I have 2 mx-850 remotes 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. I have 2 htpc in the same rack, in the basement with a flirc in each one. then i have an IR emitter on each flirc matching the IR output from the rf reciever. This means the signal is sent RF to the emitter which is covered up as to not spray amd IR signals to the other htpc. But i can use either remote for either htpc. This should not be possibe. Any Ideas?

I'm using a streamzap remote with the Flirc, not sure if they made more than one but this is it: http://www.streamzap...emote/index.php The remote appears to send out two different codes per button press, and if you press the button and then press it again within a few seconds (up to 10 i think) you get a different code sent by the remote. but if you wait longer, 30 seconds to a minute, the remote goes back to it's original code. So when you first program the firc it only works every other button press. I was able to program it by programming each button on the remote twice. Through the GUI. The only issue i had was when programming the enter key, if i programm…

Hi All, Just got the two Flirc devices I ordered earlier this week. The one I used with my Samsung TV remote worked perfectly. I let my parents know mine worked like a charm and told them I would bring the other Flirc device to get them going, but unfortunately their remote freaked out. I went through the minimalist set up and all seemed well for about two button presses and then the cursor would just start rolling like crazy as if I was holding down a keyboard arrow and it would stay that way for the majority of the time. I tried a half dozen or more times with the same result. Anyone else experiencing this sort of thing with this (or any) remote? (see attachmen…

Ok guys, thanks received the usb receiver. I have set it up using the minimalist setting, just confirming that the receiver works with the remote. I think my requested setup is reasonably common. I want to be able to: Use XBMC and Eyetv extended menus. Be able switch between them. Be able to spare a key somewhere to set it up to for example a screen shot (shift command 3) or something.. Should I reconfigure this as a full keyboard to start with. Thanks for your help!

I'm about to pull the trigger for this device, but was wondering if anyone was using FLIRC in conjunction with the URC Digital R50 remote. Would like to know before if it is completely compatible. Also, was wondering if there are any "challenges" on the XBMCUbuntu platform. Thank you all in advance. Hope to be a regular here soon :)

Logitech 670 with Flirc Flirc Version 1.0.2 [0000000000000000] Firmware Version: 1 10-02-2011 In harmony software, added flirc as Panasonic TC-P65VT30 guys i can't get the sensitivity to work. As referred to in this thread, I went into the CLI folder and did a flirc.exe sensitivity 0 and then played with 1,2,3 values as well. Then I re-opened flirc and re-learnt the right direction key However, a single press like a direction key is taken multiple times inside xbmc. I even played with inter-key delay 0-200 and it makes no difference. Is there a later software than Oct 2011 and how do I fix this problem? Thanks

My issues are mainly on my Philips SRP5107/27. I cannot program the up down left or right functions. If I program the up button and then try to program down, it says button is already paired. I have wiped clean and that does not help. It seems to recognize it as the same button. Most of my buttons seem to do this. As of this moment I have the number pad set up for my buttons (i.e. 2 is up 6 is right 8 is down, 4 is left, 5 is enter or select). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi All, I've got a Logitech harmony one, i've tried and set it up with numerous devices (including both TV's mentioned here in other posts). It all seems to work very well on any device i try and i can control most of my OpenElec system. But the weird issue lies in the fact that a set of certain buttons/commands do not work while in an Activity, but when i select the device itself, it does work. Flirc setup doesn't respond to play/pause/rewind/forward/guide/info and a few more while i'm in the activity i have set up. But when i select the device itself through the remore and go through the setup again, everything works fine. Anyone has some intel on this? Than…

After much learning and help from Chris!, I am happy to report that my Charter Cable system remote, made by Universal Electronics (see attachment), works like a champ to control XBMC using FLIRC. This remote is a little unique from the Harmony in that there is a master System Power button that cycles through all the devices for turn-on or turn-off - very handy. The issues to be resolved to get this bad boy to work may be common to lots of other cable and satellite remotes, so hopefully this helps others: 1) My Win7 HTPC has a DVD player installed, so I assigned XBMC to the DVD mode. Different device or mode selections on these remotes can behave differently, so be s…
