Hi, I wonder if anybody use this remote here with xbmc: Acer Remote Control KWR113201/01B with a Flirc USB IR Remote receiver? On one side, you have a remote and on the other side, there is a keyboard. Here are some pictures and a link for it: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/331140068910?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I'm wondering which template to choose to configure the keys. If I choose xbmc config, how will I map the other side of the remote (the keyboard) and if I use the full keyboard template, how will I map the other side (regular remote). I would like to use both sides of my remote... Front: Back:

Just wanted to drop a line and provide verification that the new Xbox One remote control from Microsoft works with FLIRC. I had no problems programming this remote using Windows 7 using the XBMC configuration.

I have had little to no luck programming the Flirc with this control. I have programmed the handset with a random TV code, then programmed the Flirc with this for XBMC on the RaspberryPi - If down is pressed, the item on the screen will scroll all the way to the bottom and the same with up - If you try and press buttons in quick succession then you have to press several times for this, slowly (I have changed the key press settings in the program) - When the program is used to programme the Flirc, it repeatedly says that the button is already in use, even though I start from scratch each time This is all on a MacBook Pro running Mavericks and a Dell 11Z run…

Hi, I'm trying to get all this to work together and a lot of the info seems to be in all sorts of diff. places....ideally would like Harmony to wake PC, start WMC.... - Harmony Flirc/XBMC device setup. - Flirc software...which controller to use, XBMC or WMC? Is there a keystroke to send to start WMC for example, or should this be left up and running, maximized on PC? Thanks!

I recently got an FLIRC and I love it so far. The problem I have though is that in any mode my TV remote takes too many buttons for TV functions, so I'm left with very few I can program. (Well I can program them, but they will simultaneously do something on the TV if I press them). I'd like to be able to use quite a few buttons so I can get great XBMC functionality. I saw some inexpensive (< $15) Philips universal remotes at Walmart and I might pick up one of those in hopes of getting more usable buttons. Does anyone have experience with these (e.g. SRP4004/27)? Are they recommended for FLIRC? Alternately what are some popular remotes that people are using with FL…

Just fini]shed a new build of a Silverstone based HTPC. I thought I could use the remote control that came with my Hauppage TV Tuner card to program my Harmony One to power the HTPC on and off but to no avail. I now have installed FLIRC thinking that using it in conjuction with the Harmony One remote would allow the HTPC to power on/off but it appears that FLIRC does not power the HTPC on/off but only controls the media center program in the HTPC. The components are installed in a cabinent with an IR repeating system which has always worked fine once I find where to stick the repeater bulbs! Any way to get it to power the HTPC on and off? I am using a wireless keyboar…

I just got an FLIRC and I'm having a rough time with my Sharp LC-46E77UN TV remote. I am finding that it is missing a lot of key presses. I have to push a button anywhere from 1 to maybe 10 or more times before I get a response. Also if I press and hold a button it starts repeating VERY rapidly immediately. It doesn't give the "gradual speed increase" I've come to expect in XBMC. I've got the FLIRC out in the open not far from me. I know the remote itself is ok because if I browse the TV menus directly everything responds fine. Also I think the physical FLIRC is fine because if I try another remote (that I can't use permanently) it seems ok. I have forced the firm…

Hello, I have just purchased a FLIRC and I am in the process of setting it up. I got FLIRC v1.2.2 installed on Windows 7 x64 and the FLIRC connected. Everything looks fine and the FLIRC is recognize as connected. However, when I hit go to try and pair up none of my remote controls work at all. Meaning the UP button which I am trying to pair up keeps flashing. Can someone point me to a possible answer to this? Are none of my remotes supported (I tried six of them)? Maybe there is a special spot to aim at? They are just normal DVD/TV remotes. Also just in case I put new batteries in them and tested them with their respective TV/DVD players. I have included a pic…

Hi, I am setting up an XBMC media center on a mac without IR, and using FLIRC so that I can control it with a remote. I have an existing TV Remote, but it looks to be a bad idea to use that, since many of the buttons will do things on the TV. If I just want a cheap IR remote, it seems like getting a different TV remote makes the most sense. However, since I don't want it to accidentally control my TV, what I want is a remote with no overlap with my current Sony TV remote. Is there any way to look this up, or any rules of thumb about manufacturers that would guide me in getting a unique remote? I don't need something crazy expensive and fancy like the harmony.

I'm trying to set up with some RCA remotes. Neither one seem to "register" with the FLIRC receiver. Is this the case, or are the remotes defective? When I go into the Flirc GUI and start the programming process, these two remotes don't seem to register any key pushes. Is this a common problem with RCA remotes? RCA RCR311BIR Three-Device Universal Remote Control RCA TV & VCR Remote Control #240895, CRK76TA1 Is anyone using these remotes successfully? Where can I find good technical information regarding remote signal formats and so forth to make an informed pruchasing decision? I'd go out and pickup another cheap RCA Universal remote, (I like the way the bu…

Hi guys. Just received my Flirc today and I started playing with it right away, but I learned it's a love hate relationship. I planned to use it with my Marantz remote, which has a lot of buttons available and only a handful of useful ones. However, it didn't really work. I think a couple random buttons were picked up, but otherwise, no movement. I have very little info on the Marantz remote, but I would be happy to do some debugging if I could get some pointers to how should I proceed. As a side note, the Sony Bravia remote works great, but it collides with the TV. I'm going to see if I can switch off some functionality from the TV, but I'm not really sure if…

I just received my Flirc today. My setup is a Harmony One, Raspberry Pi with XBMC (openelec), Onkyo TX-SR608 and a Panasonic TX-P50ST50E. In the harmony software a added the Flirc (xbmc) as a new device and made a new activity. The flirc is setup on the Minimalist profile, but i would love to get a bit more control with my Harmony One. The downloaded flirc software is v1.0.6. There is no Harmony profile in this release. Is there a version which contains a Harmony profile and where can i download it?

I am trying to configure this remote control from Philips. It is responding strange. Most of the time i have to press twice to get responses in XBMC. Does someone has any experience with this one? Which provider should I use to work best. ATM it is unusable :( Or are there any settings in flirc so it can improve overall experience. I am runing Flirc on linux/cli only version. ATM i am on version 2.2 but was the same on 2.1. http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SRP2008B/86&scy=nl&slg=en Ok i found in FAQ the answer and will try that. But also i have a feeling that recording under linux ubuntu 13.10 does not work (f.e. flirc rec…

Hey, ive recently bought the Flirc and was planning to use it with the new horizon remote that has a Keyboard. As far as i can tell it doesn't work. The keys on the topside i can register in the software but all the other keypresses from the small keyboard don't register at all in the setup. Anyone know why this would be the case? its about this remote http://www.hdtvnieuws.nl/images/Horizon-remote.jpg The rest of the remotes i tried worked perfectly, old upc remote, and a sony bravia remote work properly but i can't use those as i need those for the tv normally.

Hi, I'm using Rasbmc on my Rasperry Pi with Flirc and Apple Remote (silver). I've configured Flirc on Windows 7 using version 0.96 and controller 'XBMC' as shown in the attached file. How can I use the volume up/volume down buttons during playing a video without loosing the existing configuration? How can I use the 'informaton' button (to see codec) during playing a video without loosing the existing configuration? Is it possible to use one button on my Apple Remote for different keys in XBMC depending on the area in Xbmc? (e.g. Video, Settings, ...) Regards, Christian

ALl: Having issues trying to integrate remotes with Plex. Some buttons will work, but quite a few will not. Have tried various remotes. Buttons that just do not seem to work at all when programmed with flirc are FULLSCREEN, VOLUME UP and DOWN, STOP, PLAY. Programming using the XMBC keyboard. Tried the Windows Media Keyboard profile as well. Anything I could be doing wrong?

Greetings. I can now confirm that the Microsoft DVD Remote (original XBOX) won't work properly thanks to the older posts that mentioned it It is very skiddish and most keys will not program at all or if they do they are erratic and seem confused (sends two or more commands and not even the correct key pressed). :( I bought 2 flircs (and would have needed two more) but since this remote doesn't work correctly with flirc, isn't as cool as I hoped. I guess it's my bad for not searching the forums before buying a product that touts "Any Remote". Should have an * on that tag line. Sorry. However, it has the same basic issue using Scientific Atlanta Explor…

So, I'm trying to use an existing remote control that came with U-Verse to with the XBMC configuration. The problem is, I can't seem to find a set of device codes that use both the OK and the Back button. Has anyone mucked with this remote and have figured out a set of codes that are complete? There's a restriction for the remote that you can't map mutiple TV codes on to the same remote.

I have bough flirc in order to use it with my pioneer remote that controls my receiver and other devices. I have program BD(blu ray) as a pioneer blu ray player and then I used the flirc software to program the buttons on the remote. When I do that i am getting messages from flirc that the buttons were programmed before but this is not the case. I programmed the 4 arrows with no problem. When I try to program the enter and back button using the return and the enter button from my remote I am getting a message button already exists. I cleared all the configuration from flic software but I am still getting the same message. When I get in XBMC either the return button …

Flirc is working great with the remote for my Sony Bravia TV (remote model RM-YD087) and my OpenElec 3.2.3 / XBMC 12.2 (Frodo) box. I used the keyboard profile instead of the XBMC profile. Keys mapped are: P - Play R - Rewind F - Fast Forward X - Stop Space - Pause [ - Next chapter ] - Prev chapter Backspace - Back (mapped to Return button) T - Subtitles (mapped to CC button) Esc - Prev Menu/Home (mapped to Yellow button) C - Context Menu (mapped to Blue button) S - Shutdown Menu (mapped to Red button) I - Info (mapped to Green button) You'll also need to turn on "Remote control sends keyboard presses" in System -> Input devices so that it works cor…

Hi everyone. New Flirc-er here. ;) Things are going well, so far. I have a Logitech Harmony 200 remote, and I'm using it to control Media Player Classic Home Cinema on my Windows 7 PC. I read somewhere around the forums that I should use (Make: SAMSUNG) (Model: LN46C650L1F). I tried that out but I noticed a few buttons weren't working (shown below), went back into the MyHarmony profile, and assigned random commands to them. That seems to have worked. Anyway, things are going well, and I've been able to assign keys to my remote, but I've noticed a few things. - First, there's a massive delay on the WatchTV button. On MyHarmony it doesn't actually have anything set …

I am using an RCA RCRBB04GR Universal remote. I have set up the flirc to work with the remote, and all the keymappings are functional, but button presses do not repeat. This would be very useful for things like volume or scrolling through a list, where pressing and holding is far more efficient and comfortable than pressing for each increment. This issue is likely not tied to this remote specifically since the same issue was encountered here: http://raspi.tv/2013/flirc-a-programmable-usb-media-centre-controller-receiver Please let me know if there is a way to enable key repeats with this remote. Thanks. UPDATE: I upgraded to 1.0.0 rc6 and button repeating is func…

Hello, I assume this is just because of the ir frequency used by this remote, but figured I ask anyway: The left key from the d-pad and back key on the remote are seen as the same key by flric, it gives the message "Button already exists" Also the menu and home button are seen as the same key, With both the latest beta and 1.0 firmware. Does anyone know a way to get flirc to read the buttons correctly/individually? Thanks R.
