hi i would like to use flirc with my logitech haromony one+. logitech support told me, that i have to use Microsoft and MCE Keyboard profile for the logitech remote. after that i did the xmbc settings (bind keys), but the enter, return, play and stop key do not work..... can you please give me a simple manual, how to use logitech harmony one with flirc and xbmc ? thanks

Hi - fresh new user here. Programmed new Flirc with my Universal Electronics remote (Charter cable system) for DVD device and plugged into HTPC running Windows 7 and XBMC. XMBC is set for "remote generates keyboard commands". All the functions work except it takes 2 keypresses for anything to happen. I think this is a Windows issue as I have seen it mentioned on other sites but I can't find how to fix it. Any ideas?

Good afternoon! I received my flikr in the mail today, and I can't tell you how excited I am to get this working on my setup. I installed the flikr software from the website, then grabbed the remote control that my cable company provided, a CLIKR-5 (http://www.universalremote.com/resources/pdfs/UR5U-8700L_8720L.pdf). I selected XBMC for the controller, and proceeded to assign up, down, right, left and enter buttons to the directional arrows on my remote control. I set my first Mx-850 up with the flirc. Then i took the second MX-850 and copied the commands from the 1st one. All functions work except fast forward and rewind.Fast forward works great on the first MX-850 and does not on the 2 MX-850. Am i doing something wrong?

Hi. I went with what is in the sticky as it mentioned that it addressed lag with pressing keys. Well, after doing the initial setup for the Panasonic remote, I feel like navigation is super slow. Definitely slower than what I had before with USB UIRT + a windows remote config. I also tried out navigating with my iphone (using Hippo) and that worked as expected Am I missing something?

Just got our new HR-24 receiver today and it came with one of the new bi-directional remotes that is supposed to make setup easier. It worked great except for Flirc, every DVD and VCR combo I could find would not use every button on the remote. The previous receiver had a setting to program a second receiver to AV1 or AV2 but I couldn't find that setting anymore. Following this guide bypassed the menu based setup completely and let me put in a generic second receiver and now all buttons on the remote are working as they should. Hi all I've been hugely frustrated by the "slow" feel of the Harmony 700 I bought to use with my HTPC + flirc. I've tried using various different device profiles on the Harmony software (Panasonic TV as per another thread, Sky+ HD controller, Windows Media Centre profile), but I always seem to get annoying amounts of lag. It's not huge, but enough that it doesn't feel as natural as a normal remote. I've tried setting the delays on the Harmony to zero, and I've changed sensitivity to zero on my flirc, with no real improvement. THis is probably something that needs to be fixed in the Harmony software, of which I work with so little I find it incredibly confusing each time I'm in there, but when I'm in my XBMC activity, my remote won't work - I have to press Devices and select the XBMC Remote (Panasonic mapped buttons as per the guide on the forum) to get it working. What do I need to do to have the buttons control XBMC from within the Activity setting? Thanks!

I have a One For All URC-7960, which is a universal remote control. For XBMC I use flirc and configure the One For All to be a SONY RMT-D248P DVD player remote. i.e. the One For All remote is emulating a Sony DVD remote. My problem is that when I push the a button down three times, e.g. to move three places lower in a list, it moves one place down, pauses for half a second and then whizzes down six or seven places. It acts like I've held down the button. I want it to respond to individual button pushes. Anyone else seen this? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

FIrst off I would like to say that this seems to be a great solution to a problem that I've been facing for quite some time. So kudos! However, I have a Harmony 1100 and I was wondering if anyone has had any success configuring it with Flirc and xbmc.

Hi, I tried to look around for this crap, but couldn't find anything. I was able to program harmony remote to work with flirc to move around menu, press buttons (enter, directions etc), but the only thing now I would like to achieve is to enable power button on harmony to suspend openelec+flirc (based on ZBOX ID41). Does anyone succeed in doing this trick? manually pressing power button every time is pretty annoying. Thank you in advance for your help. Marek

I was at Walmart the other day and just happened to look at the remotes offered. I always look, even though my own Flirc is bricked, I like to think ahead. And I did! This PAIR of remotes was available for on $4 US. Notice they have both volume and channel selectors AND a separate directional pad at the same time. And one of them is backlit! I was hoping to show them in-line, but this will have to do: see the attachment! And get to Walmart! :>

I confirm this remote works just fine - I used the 'DVD' button and assigned code 006 to it - a Sony code. (No Sony equipment here). I programmed Flirc with the XBMC keyboard layout and used it with my XBMC Eden running on Ubuntu 11.10. Detected first time, all buttons appear to work correctly. Will report back any issues in about a week (just to give enough time for any to crop up).

Hi folks, been looking into what remotes to use plus been lurking on here looking at people's experiences. Regarding universal remotes: how would these work with flirc? Would they have to be set to a specific brand of device if it has the option of adding a manufacturer code like with the harmony remote? And if it doesn't have that option, would it work with flirc at all? Looking for a decent one that does all the functions I want, not that many have 2 sets of skip/search buttons to map the slow step, and skip music tracks. Hi I am considering buying a Flirc for my media center but wonder if it will work with my remote. Thought to use the remote controller from my Onkyo TX-NR809 surround receiver. I have checked the list of supported remote controls, and my remote RC-810M is not mentioned, but the RC-710M are listed. Do you think it will work? I do not know the difference between the RC-810M and RC-710M, other than the layout is different.

Just ordered one of these AWESOME looking devices (out of stock until July, these things are selling like hot cakes!!), and can stop using the power hungry PS3 remote. I have a PS2 remote going to waste, anyone tried this on flirc?

Currently using a Mac and thinking of setting up a machine to play around with Ubuntu. Will Flirc allow me to use my Apple remote with XBMC on Ubuntu? I know there are better remotes you can use, but this would be a start will I play around with Ubuntu. Thanks, vdubeau

Hello all, I've received the Flirc and I've tested a few remotes. If I get my hands on more remotes I'll post them here. The setup was made in a Winblows 7 Laptop running x64bits. Used the beta firmware fw_wake_v6.bin that gave me better results, faster with the cursor buttons if long pressed. After everything was done the Flirc went to it's place, the Acer Revo 3600 running XBMCbuntu. I'm noticing that when I'm in DVD (or VCR,Cable, or STB) mode for the remote for my old Samsung TV (HL-S4266W), not all the buttons are able to be mapped via flirc. Buttons like the four solid color buttons and buttons that pertain to TV functionality (like Antenna CH MGR, Fav. CH, etc) are non-responsive in any mode outside of TV mode by default. My question - if I try to customize the remote control to work with a different device as it is laid out in the manual (press the DVD button, then press the set button and enter in the 3 digit code), would more of these buttons magically become available since the remote would then be trying to replicate the functionality of…

Thought I'd just let anyone out there thinking of using Flirc with an HTPC, XBMC and a Vizio Via Apps TV that it works great. My particular model is the XVT373SV (http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-XVT373SV-37-Inch-Internet-Application/dp/B003GDFJTU). When i press a button, the button works, even if i keep pressing it. but when stop presseing the button, and press another button, the button doesnt work. i have to release it, and then pressed it again for it to work. Example. 1. Press and hold left button to scroll. Works. 2. Release left button. Works(scrolls stops). 3. Press and hold left button to scroll. Doesnt works. 4. Release. Nothing happens. 5. I have some problems with my XBox 1 remote controller which I am trying to use on OpeneElec (Linux). It seems to be a bit sensitive during programming. When pressing a remote key for more than a split second it seems to act as multiple presses. Conversely, when successfully programmed it seems to present multiple keypresses in use in XBMC. So it must be the remote eh? Has anyone got this working, it has all the features I'm used to as an XBMC user for many years.
