Remote Controls

So I've tried to get my Harmnoy One to turn m htpc on/off, but to no avail. I've gone to the settings of Flirc and checked the "Sleep detection", and I programed a button for the "Wake", but nothing happens. What I would want is for it to start up when I choose my " Watch Movies" Profile that I have programed into the remote, and turn off when I press the power button at the top of the remote. This has works with all other devices. How can i get windows to turn off with a command, and make the pc start up from a turned off state?

Hi, Am I right in thinking the following: When selecting Flirc/Kodi in MyHarmony you're actually setting (most of) the buttons to certain IR codes?By default the Flirc is pre-programmed with these IR codes in the Kodi profile so there's no need to "fire" them at the Flirc?If so, can I ask a few questions? What are the IR codes based on in the MyHarmony preset, given Flirc isn't a physical remote? As they're not from a physical remote couldn't you have generated codes for all buttons on the remote, including "Guide" and "Menu", so they could be used in Kodi for EPG etc, without having to now find a spare physical remote to teach the Harmony and then to set the Flirc? I reprogrammed pause and play Kodi controller keyboard on my RTI remote and now it controls iTunes as a priority over Kodi. If iTunes is closed, Kodi pause and play then works. If I leave iTunes on in background and am in Kodi, full screen, it controls iTunes not Kodi. Any ideas?

So if you do any work or reading about how PLASMA HDTV can interfear (mess up) infrared you might find out that something called FLOOD happens. Basically the IR receiver is blinded by the light from your Plasma tv. has their been any discussion about how to make sure that does not happen? Via positioning, or via window tint maybe?

I have no clue if this is possible.' i have an xbox one. I will be using a fire tv to run slingplayer throught the xbox one? Why you ask? Cause i want to use snap function, watch tv while playing games etc. xbox one can control many different tvs and cable boxes via 4 digit codes. would it be possible to provide the xbox a 4 digit code to control the flirc on a fire tv? For instance, i use the tv listings on xbox one, i pick a show that i like, i tell it to go to that channel, the xbox one sends a number to the fire tv while in slingplayer app , and the slingplayer goes to that channel.

Hi, Flirc works fine with Kodi. I've also added the MCE keyboard in myharmony.com as a device. How do I get this working? I'm trying to use the alt-f4 command on the MCE soft keyboard to shutdown kodi when I exit the activity but getting zero response. Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie Thanks

Just bought a FLIRC on Amazon, for the express purpose of using the great VLC multimedia program with my trusty old URC300 remote. The FLIRC arrived last night. I downloaded the FLIRC software, plugged in the dongle, and mapped the virtual keyboard to correspond with VLC's hotkeys. Within 20 minutes, I was using VLC seamlessly with my remote. What a great device. It really is amazing to me how simple it was to get VLC and FLIRC in sync with my 12-year-old remote. Prior to discovering FLIRC, I had snooped around the internet, looking for IR solutions for VLC. There is an excellent web interface for VLC, but infrared was a different story. This problem has left me stumped. At first I had the Harmony Companion setup with the Intel Compute Stick it's supposed to control as a separate device, and it was working fine. I decided to order a Flirc USB to try to get a bit more control over the situation since some of the buttons on the remote weren't detected in that configuration. My flirc arrived and it worked pretty well out of the box without having to change anything in the myHarmony software, and things were looking up. Hi, Using Harmony One to control Kodi running on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Almost everything works except the play and pause buttons. What I am doing: 1) Open the FLIRC software. 2) Choose Kodi 3) Test various keys on the remote control. When I press various keys like the "back" button, the corresponding key lights up green in the software (good). 4) When I press the pause or play keys on my remote, neither key lights up green in the tool. 5) Attempt to program both of the play and pause keys. The tool reports that both keys are programmed. However, I then immediately press one of the keys and the tool does not recognize it (light up green). Likewise, the play and pause still do…

I added the Flirc XBMC profile to my harmony remote, then programmed it using the flirc software. Hitting the back button doesn't take me back, it takes me home. Anyone have a similar issue or any clues how to fix it? Thanks!

Hi all and thanks for looking. I'm not having much luck with flirc and my Mx900 URC remote. Any time I program one key another key gets recorded or wiped out. I'm about ready to return this unfortunately. I've been battling this for 2 days now. I updated to the latest firmware (3.8) and no change in behavior. My remote works perfectly with all my other components. Not sure what im doing wrong. If anyone has experience with keys remapping on their own or how best to get this going please let me know. Built a new media system round the plex software but want to use a remote, ah flirc looks great ordered one and spent 2 hours trying to get 11 remotes to work, at this moment all I have been trying to do is up, down, left, right, enter and back, simple you would think, but enter and back seems to be the same key, up and down the same function, the only remote that seems to work is the crappy aplle tv (3) ,I bought a lovely new HP media remote to do the job but that does not work nor does any of the xbox 360 media remotes , plully my hair out here. Not what the ad says. Is it faulty or is it this bad. Plus is there a remote that will work (I'm in the UK) Thanks

Both remotes have some issues with the Flirc software. Here's a summary of what I've found so far: Remote of the Harmony Companion Buttons that are read as duplicates: Exit and Back/Previous Channel. Guide and OK (button in center of D-pad). Buttons that don't get read: Menu, Source, E, DVR and Record. Buttons of the Harmony 650 Buttons that are read as duplicates: Guide and OK (button in center of D-pad). Buttons that don't get read: Back/Previous Channel, Menu, Source, E, and Record. I keep getting "Stopped recording" or command already exists on the key i want to program. I have forced and update and reset the remote to factory new and it still is happening.

Hi all, I have just received my USB Flirc and I would like to edit some of the keys in the Kodi profile. So when I select one key of this profile (eg: "Toggle subtittles"), a message pop up saying <press the button to be paired with 'CC'>. So I press a button of my Harmony remote... and nothing happens. Flirc does not seem to recognize de commands coming from the Harmony remote. But if I take a standar RC197 remote, I can customize any key that I want... Am I missing something? I am using the Flirc SE edition with firmware 3.7 (for some reason it will not get updated to 3.8 no matter what I do). The remote I have programmed is Harmony 650 with the Kodi/Flirc device. In the Flirc software I have mapped my keys to the Kodi layout. I recorded the power command via flirc_util (I used the power command from a WD TV Live that I learned into my Harmony). My issue is that most times the Flirc will not properly turn on the PC from complete shut down. The PC will try to start, the power LED will flash for half a second and then the PC will not start. The second press of the power button on the remote starts the PC normally. Also the same button shuts down…

Hi all, I really hope someone can help as this is issue is really frustrating. My Flirc+Mini PC+Open Elec/Kodi all works great except when pressing Off on my remote, the mini PC will only switch off if I press Help > "Has your Kodi turned off" > No > It then switches off with the help command. I have literally tried every setting to try and make this work first time. Just to add, going into the Flirc software on my PC, I select full keyboard, I don't get a shutdown button in there to map but going into the Kodi controller I click on the shutdown and pressing the off button on the keyboard Flirc doesn't even register anything being pressed. I'm trying to figure out how to get my Intesec to control my PS4 using the Flirc. I've put the Flirc into my computer and loaded a previous configuration someone linked and then took out my Flirc and put it into my PS4 but I get nothing. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if I'm suppose to program a preset key for it or what.

I added a Flirc to my HTPC and it works well with my comcast remote. I have the AUX button on my comcast remote set to code 00869 (discussed ), I paired buttons, adjusted the keyboard delay and repeat settings and it works fabuliously. Now, my components are behind a closed cabinet door, so an IR Blaster is required. I have sucessfully used my IR blaster (this one) to drive all of my other components but the Flic does not respond to the IR blaster signals. I even have attempted to reprogram my flirc with the IR blaster connected - but to no avail. It seems the Flirc is just not seeing the signal. Hi folks Recently purchased a Flirc USB device to enable me to pair my 2nd Generation FireTV Box with my Logitech Harmony 650 remote. By trawling this forum I have been able to replicate all the FireTV remote commands bar one. With the FireTV remote, an extended press on the Home button reveals a hidden menu. This menu displays the current time and three on screen buttons. These buttons select Sleep, Mirroring and Settings respectively. A long press on the corresponding Home button on the Logitech 650 remote does not reveal this menu. I've been using am NMT Pocornhour A100 and A110 remote originally with GBPVR and now NextPVR (or nPVR) for many years now and the remote is very familiar to me and my family. Recently I wanted to use it both on my PC and on my RaspBerry Pi [npVR/Kodi OpenLEec] and bought two FLIRCs for that purpose. I was really hoping for good things from this device but maybe the PCH remote suffers from the not-near 38kHz issue that I have read about on the forums i.e. works with "almost any remote" is closer to the mark than "works with any remote". Hello, I am trying to make a remote control to power off TV for example using flirc connected to raspberry pi to send IR signals. I used the lirc configuration files availble on the net but it does not work. Is it possible to do that? does anyone know how to configure the hardware.conf to be able to send signal through flirc. I've installed Flirc and created a Harmony activity to include Flirc media center, my TV and my audio source. Do I still need the old USB IR receiver which I was previously using to permit the Harmony remote to communicate with the computer? If I remove the old IR receiver will the Harmony communicate with the PC via Flirc to activate my other Harmony activities (e.g. watch a DVD, listen to music)? Or do I need to make device changes in those activities? Confused....
