ey, Seems my remote completely bricked during the latest firmware upgrade. I updated the remote after a prompt appeared in the skips app to update. During the update there was a 'update failed' pop-up. Since then I cannot connect my remote anymore using the skip app nor the updater app. When pushing buttons on the remote it only flashes a red light. I have tried to swap batteries, downgrade the skip app to the previous version, but no luck. Is there a way to factory reset the remote when not connected to a computer? regards

Very basic question: been using it part time over the last year. Grabbed it the other day and got no activity lights on it. Changed the batteries with no improvement. It appears to be dead. Any ideas to help prove this might be a functional device once again. TIA...

The Good The remote itself. I've had so many remotes in the past, in various price ranges. They all lacked something in terms of build quality. Regardless of their functionality, either the weight, looks, button quality or the layout where off. But the Skip 1s has this really premium look and feel! I just love the button feel and travel (no 'click' sounds), the matte finish as opposed to the cheap glossy plastic look and it's nice weight. A premium solid remote! Hi all! Just received my Skip 1s. I used the IR learning to program my Vogel's MotionMount TV mount (it's a motorized mount controlled by remote). The commands successfully went onto the Skip 1s but they don't work very well. For example sometimes the forward button fails, and I have to press other buttons like the sideways movement button or something and then the forward button works again.

Hi, I’m a big fan of the Skip 1s, I just recently bought my second Skip 1s (from Raspberry Pi Shop dk), I’m using my first one now just for over one year. My first Skip has firmware version 4.12.11-13 with ring timeout set in the app at 1s, when I press the color button, the color wheel always led up for 6s. But when I press the color button again before the 6s are passed it will deactivate the color wheel immediately, what I personally find very handy, instead of waiting before it auto timeout. My second Skip has firmware version 4.13.4-0 also with ring timeout set in the app at 1s, again when I press the color button, the color wheel always led up for 3s. …

Dear all, I just got my 1s today and have been unable to set it up it with Nvidia Shield Pro. Here what I did, kindly correct me what I got wrong. I connected the 1s to my PC via the USB. I downloaded the USB Flirc App and got the firmware upgraded to v4.10.2. Then under Controllers Tab, I chose Nvidia Shield Gen 2 and hit the Go button. However, when the app showed me the steps to record the button, I could not get the 1s to recognize it. Did somebody encounter the same problem? If you did, could you help me to fix it up. Just got the remote today. I was having the same issue with my Denon AVR-S570BT but I got it to work by choosing random codes until a different models code worked. What's really annoying is that every time I try a different model/code list it resets my button bindings, but end rant. I've been trying different BenQ projector codes and I can get it to work on practically every button including power off, but I can't get power on or power toggle to turn on the projector, I've tired mapping to both the power button and other buttons like the channel buttons, and I can't get the power on signal to the projector. I am a techie. I owed a computer store for over a dozen years when the PC era began and I'm a member of Mensa and I have a doctorate so I'm not dense or uneducated. I got the Skip 1 up and running without difficulty on Windows 10 with a Sound Bar, TV, and Apple TV without difficulty. I haven't tried adding other devices. My Sound Bar isn't in the code base (surprising since the Sony HT-A7000 is pretty common), but I am limping along by using a few codes that cross over from another Sony sound bar for now. I've just started setting up my Skip 1s as a Harmony One replacement. I have a Samsung TV, a Sony HT Series Sound bar, a Pi4 running Kodi and a Sony BluRay player. The Skip has the devices and can control the well enough. I need to create a power on sequence that turns on the TV and sets it to HDMI 1 in order to display the Pi or HDMI 4 to see the BluRay. I tried dropping the TV HDMI 1 select action onto the power button along with the TV power on action. They both appear, but the HDMI 1 select action doesn't work. I assume this is a timing issue, but I can't see how to sequence the actions and add a delay. I added the power on action first, then the HDMI selection. I exp…

I'd love to see an option to have the letter-buttons not act as Activity-macros but instead have them switch between different remote presets. For example, button "A" would load the button presets to control my TV, while "B" would switch the button assignments of the remote a completely different preset that allows me to control my HTPC. I have some devices that can't be properly controlled via CEC signals. If the directional buttons of the Skip 1s are set to control the TV itself, I don't have a way to send directional inputs to the HTPC because the device can't receive the CEC signals from the TV. My remote is currently at firmware version 4.12.18. I see people commenting on newer versions of firmware. but I'm not sure how to get it. People mention using the Skip App, but I don't see any options or get any prompts to update the firmware. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry if this has been asked, but I searched and "RF" didn't bring up anything. The Skip 1s looks great, but one of the main functions I'm looking for in a harmony replacement is is a Hub based remote (RF to IR). I'm sure this has been asked before, but are there any Skip 1s Hub versions planned, or is the Skip 1s kind of in it's final form now with just software/firmware improvements planned? Thanks.

I want to use the Skip to controll My Logitech Harmony HUB is this possible?

Just using the power toggle and volume, but it doesn't respond every time I press the button, not by a long shot. The on/off macro fails around half the time, as does just assigning a single power toggle button to a button somewhere, and the volume is equally frustrating. I'm setting up my new 1s and my amplifier is not supported. I'm not surprised since it's a Dayton DTA-Pro. Is there a recommended way for the 1s to learn the IR codes from the remote for an unsupported device?

This not going to be a great post. Like many other I read here, I am extremely frustrated with the product, especially the software. So far to me it feels like a waste of money. Especially when I compare it to the Logitech Harmony remotes and software. The Logitech hardware and software works and is easy to use. You set up an activy, enter the steps and inputs, end done. The 1S software is unstable and not clear at all on how it works at all. Nor is the remote. It often does not connect to my system or the software will not detect it. Is there a way to save a backup of the firmware currently installed on Skip 1s (4.12.20 in my case) to be able to go back if a newer firmware has been installed? Or is there a download link for firmware versions? Thank you!

Hello, Hope that this i the right forum as my input relates both Skip 1s remote and Flirc USB. I recently received my Skip 1s remote with Flirc USB. I will appreciate for some guidiance about setup as I am little confused about how to setup my configuration. My setup is Desktop PC (with Flirc) and Kodi, Google TV Chromecast dongle (with remote) and all connected to my LG TV (UH 850V-with magic remote) My previous PC Zalman case has internal IR receiver with IMON app and remote. Hi I just got my new remote today and have set it up with my tv and roku just fine but when I go to try and set it up with my Vero 4k it doesnt seem to work. I tried setting it to Kodi device and it doesnt do anything. Is there something I am missing in the setup to make it work?
