  1. I've attached my config, but this has been going on for a while. When I press volume up on the skip, the volume goes up, but it also does a next chapter. Very annoying. Volume down, does just volume down, as expected. Running Skip App 0.9.965, firmware screenshot attached. Flirc app is a v3.27.15, firmware on Flirc shows as v4.10.5 Any ideas? minipc.skip
  2. I'm experiencing the same thing. Remote won't light up. Makes it seem like the battereis are dead. I remove the batteries, wait 30 seconds to a minute, put the same batteries back in.. everything works.

    Battery Life

My remote is good for a few days/weeks and then locks up. It makes it seem like the batteries are dead, but the remote itself is locked. For me, I have to remove the batteries.. wait about 30 seconds to a minute. then put the same batteries back in. Works fine after that. Try that?
  4. I have 1 activity; devices are TV and Media Center PC. TV is the LG. Media PC is Flirc -> Kodi. However, I've been doing some more digging, especially around Plasma TVs and IR interference. LOADS of forums in different devices with this in common. In reviewing many of the "fixes" (worked for them, not for me) and suggestions, I came across one that sounded strange, but plausible. This post [Does plasma radiation interfere with IR signals? | AVS Forum] suggests putting masking tape over the IR receiver to filter out the plasma noise. Apparently it filters out the indirect noise, while still letting the direct IR through. "The tape is translucent enough to allow the actual remote ir signal in but opaque enough to cut done plasma interference sufficiently to avoid confusing the equipment." Guess what.. it bloody works. With a simple peice of masking tape over the flirc IR receiver it drops the interference by at least half, maybe more. Mutiple layers might also work, but what I did was to be more strategic in the placement of the PC itself. I've positioned it deeper in the TV cabinet, yet still have LOS to the skip1s when I am using it. This now works flawlessly. No more skipped button pushes. No more phantom pushes. There is still some IR noise received by the flirc, but not enough to have it translate and forward those events to the PC. In a nutshell; masking tape over the flirc receiver and better placement of the PC (and thus the flirc itself) to make it less susceptable to plasma noise from the TV. Hope this helps others.
  5. I have the skip1s paired with a flirc and have been having no end of trouble., Missed presses on the Skip, phantom presses that the flirc happily runs with, etc.. It's made the slip1s+flirc unusable for me. After some amount of trial and error, I think I've traced the issue down to the TV itself. It's a plasma based one. I run the flirc app on a media pc connected to the TV and open "device log" with "Enable IR debugging" enabled. The logs shows phantom signals being received by the flirc. I'm not touching the skip at all at this point. Sometimes the interference seems to flood the flirc. If I RDP in (this allows this test), connect to the same session as above, turn off the TV, the interference noise goes away. Almost completely. Turn back on the TV; interference flood. Turn off TV; quiet. (even with the TV off there is a bit of noise, but not the flood while it is on). Apparently, in reading through some of the posts here, I'm not alone in this problem, especially where Plasma is present. I don't understand.. if my old Harmony IR hub didn't have the same issue connected to the same devices, why would the flirc? Is there a noise cancellation/reduction option in the flirc app/firmware that can filter out all of the TV noise?
  6. I think you are right. The issue seems to be with the Flirc. I'll close this thread and start looking in the Flirc posts.
  7. I know this is an old thread, but I'm encountering the same issue. What did you mean "light paper mask"? can you post a pic?
  8. There is other issues with this minipc. I'm going to reformat over the next few days and try again.
  9. Yes, I've reprogrammed them all. Issue remains. The majority of the time I have to press a button 2, 4, or 6 or more times before it registers. What can I do to help debug this? Are there logs I can gather? Runtime traces?
  10. Is there something I can do to help debug this? It's getting quite frustrating. Running logs? export config? what can I do.
  11. Side note.. I have to install the Skip App on a PC other than the media center to program the remote. When I try installing on the media center PC I get the following error: App installation failed with error message: Deployment Add operation with target volume C: on Package SkipApp_0.9.956.7101_x64__sddpyax1dmvqm from: (SkipApp-0.9.956-Beta-x64.msix) failed with error 0x80073B01. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=235160 for help diagnosing app deployment issues. (0x80073b01) I've never seen that error before.
  12. I don't understand the first question. PC -> Flirc -> Kodi? Flirc is right on the front of the PC. Clear line of sight to the remote. Turn on/off.. that what I meant. I tend to use hibernate mode when pressing the power buttong on the PC, but I'll try sleep.
  13. First off I want to say that I really really really want this to work. I'm a fan of what the team is doing. I'm getting frustrated. My situation is very simple. I have a windows PC running Kodi connected to an LG tv. I've attached a Flirc (firmware 4.10.2) to the PC. I've setup the remote using the skip app (v0.9.956) with one activity. That activity has 2 devices; the LG and the Flirc. That's it. Activity setup: Navigate : Flirc Media/music control : Flirc Audio control: LG Buttons on the remote that control audio work flawlessly. Never a missed button press, never a double press. It just works. This is great. This telss me the remote is sending what it's supposed to be sending.(??) Buttons that control the Flirc.. not so much. Button presses aren't registered or are seen or do anything. Sometimes there are double presses (meaning if I press play/pause while it's playing, I can see the show pause then it immediatly starts again. More button presses aren't registered by the Flirc to the PC, than button presses that are. I have to press a button 3,5 or 8 times before it works. Yes I've changed batteries.. many times just in case. When pressing "power" on the remote, the PC doesn't shutdown nor does it startup automatically. I's there some docs that perhaps I missed? Additionally.. really need a page up/page down button for Kodi :)
  14. What is Flirc's range? Like all infrared (IR) devices, Flirc works best when it's placed in the line of site of the remote control. The above does not answer the question. What is Flirc's range?
