If I put a delay on an action, does that delay happen before or after the action?

As per title, every time I try and sync the remote a box pops up (added), I've tried all the things it suggests but it still won't work. I also tried different USB ports and cables with no joy. I'm running the latest version of the app and drivers and Windows 11 is fully up-to-date. Any ideas? Cheers

It looks like my kids dropped the remote one too many times and the usb is no longer connecting. The kids have already busted the battery door which is held on by tape right now so I am thinking that between the last time I updated functionality on the remote and them busting the battery door a drop busted the usb c connection. I haven't torn the remote apart yet to see if it is a bust joint or a larger issue, but wanted to check in to see if there are plans for a new version (ie skip 2, etc) if I have to go down the replacement route.

Just got the remote. Setted it up with my Apple TV. It works, but if I consecutively press the same button multiple times quickly (like dpad right), not only would it not register every button press, but there's random delays between some of them, or it acts like I'm holding it when I'm just pressing it quickly. For example, if I press right 10 times quickly, instead of the cursor moving 10 times as I press it, it insteads like delays itself, moves quickly, delays itself, move quickly, sometimes if i press it fast enough it acts like im holding it. Usually results in my not getting the 10th place (which is terrible for typing on a keyboard quickly) Am I doing …

Hello, I purchased one of the original Flirc Skip 1 Universal Remote Controls directly from you some time ago. When it arrived, I set it aside, and I’ve only recently begun setting it up. While attempting to map my remotes, the software displays the message: “Programming error.” I have tested this on both Windows 11 and Debian 12.5. My current SkipApp version is 0.9.971.8456-RC. Could you please advise if there is a newer version I should install, or if there are other steps I can take to resolve this? Any help would be appricated.

I use Kodi and have the problem that even very short keystrokes invoke certain actions repeatedly, e.g. - on screen keyboards: one key right press skips a whole keyboard button - I use Kodi's skip steps (https://kodi.wiki/view/Skip_steps) and when I triple press the right key, a quadruple or quintuple press is triggered How can I fix this?

Why is this happening? Both the Windows and Linux computers have 100% internet access no doubt.

As per title, I have a Manhattan T4-R Freeview box, and but the Skip 1s app only has the T3-R in the menu but that rmeote works the T4-R as well so there is no reason why it shouldn't work, but when I try the activity the TV and soundbar turn on but the TV doesn't switch to the HDMI3 input that the Manhattan is connected to nor does it turn the Manhattan box on. I have it set in the app for the Manhattan to Navigate and Control Medisa/Music and the soundbar for audio, the Power on has the TV in it and HDMI3 input, but there is no power on button in the Skip app for the Manhatten only a Power Off one. Any ideas? Cheers

Aloha ! I am looking for some help as I am banging my head against the wall. Set up new HTPC as described and remote work generally OK with an activity including two devices the TV and a FLIRC> HTPC>PLEX setup. I am trying to map some key any key on the remote to the Super L key on the keyboard as this triggers the OS window switcher and allows me to move between chrome for YouTube on tv and jellyfin. I am trying to add a delay to my input switch during power up. I have read everything about adjusting the button timing but the app does not show me duration and delay but only repeat when I click on a button action. (see screenshot) What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

When i get to "Map your devices..." nothing happens when i click Continue. (in the previous window "These devices will be used in your Activity" the audio device Fosi ZD3 has a red dot on it) How can i fix this?

Since I received my Skip 1s in 2023, it has occasionally flashed the red ring and gone into DFU mode requiring a reflash. However the past several days, it happens every time I press the power button. After a fresh reflash, I'm unable to use the remote even once, it immediately flashes the ring red goes into DFU mode where it automatically reflashes when I plug it in. Once it successfully flashes, the cycle begins again. Does this mean hardware failure or is there something more I can try?

hello, i just bought a skip and i am trying to record from another remote. i am getting an error when i press to record. i have tried many different types of activity and device types and i tried resetting the remote to factory settings, tried on both pc and mac. I design the button layout and then press record and get this error straight away. Is this a known bug or what is the way around this? thanks

Hi folks, I received my nice new Flirc Skip 1S remotes yesterday and excitedly got down to setting them up on my ‘most straight forward’ configuration (A TV and a Kodi Box). An hour later, I was stumped. After a few searches on the forums, I didn’t find any obvious fixes, so I spent a rainy Saturday figuring this out for the community. Hi, My skip 1s for some reason is stuck on firmware update v4.12.18. At some point I thought it was the latest one but found on this forum mentions of later versions (eg 4.13 which my logic says it's more recent). I also found mentions on how to force an update by pulling the battery and plugging USB while pushing the center and back button but it does not seem to work. I tried on both windows and linux with the same result for both. Attached you can find the logs for linux as this is my main system, I think you can find out more in the logs than I do. I suspect quite a few of us have a TV/media player (Android/Apple TV)/receiver, and a handful of game consoles, etc. Rather than every one of us going through the same tedious process of creating the profile with all those devices (and the more tedious process of troubleshooting why some device(s) will not seem to behave), it would seem reasonable to offer pre-built profiles to start from and adjust as needed.

Hi to all, Just bought a Skip s1 and have been running it though it's paces. I have had a Flirc USB for years and love it. Was using a Harmony elite but it finally gave up the ghost. I picked the Skip because I like how Flirc has approached the issues with remotes with the USB and Skip. I build things and I like the Flirc ethos. So, I've been setting up the Skip remote, and it's been mostly self-explanatory. One thing I can't figure out is how to remove the delay between button presses. For instance, having programmed the remote to work with my Plex machine, if I then try to move the selector in Plex to the right to select a show and try to use multiple consecutive button presses of the remote, there's a forced delay between each press. This means not all button presses are registered. The delay seems to the LED timeout delay (the LED will light up with the first press, and button presses will only register once it has turned off again), meaning I can't lower it beyond 1 second. I've been using the Skip 1s for almost a year now and everything has been great. I recently got a new device and I wanted to update my remote to control it. I installed the Skip App, plugged in the remote, and the app is treating this like a new device. I tried exporting the configuration from the device, but all I get is the "Empty default config". Am I stuck setting everything up again? If I unplug the remote, it still works fine so the config is still on the device.
