Remote Controls

I'm trying to use a Philips DVD player remote. First, recording buttons failed often, but by repeating the procedure I finally managed to record all buttons. I read this means the frequency is non-standard? Second, when using it the keypresses pretty much give random results. I. e. pressing arrow down moves left instead, so on. I'm ready to buy an another remote, can anybody point me to a remote on eBay that works?

Well the 2019 Nvidia Shield TV has been released. Any chance that we can get setup for the new remote?

Hi guys, I'm having difficulty setting up my Philips TV remote for use with a Win 11 machine running Kodi - specifically, the arrow controls and OK button. When I try to map these controls, they seem to alternate during use for some reason. So, pressing Up will ether either result in Up or OK, Left either Left or Right, Right either Right or Left, and Down either Down or nothing. Any advice appreciated!

Hy My Problem is when i use the flirc firetv Edition with my amazon fire stick gen.1 then is no ging. I have an error from firetv stick the Power from the ac Power adapter with original usb cable and ac Power adapter. When i plus out the flirc than is not error and the stick is running ... I am programming my FLIRC for an Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019 edition). I selected Nvidia Shield GEN2 as the Controller in the FLIRC Windows app, and programmed all of the buttons. I can't get either the HOME or MENU function to work with the Shield, having tried 3 different IR codes for each. Is there an issue with the HOME and MENU functions on the Shield? Also, is there a way to program a long-press of the enter button for the Shield?

On my Harmony remote I have an Apple TV device and a Flirc XBMC device. The arrow keys for the Apple TV and XBMC are sending out the same IR signals. On the Harmony I can select either the Apple TV or the Flirc XBMC device and they control both physical devices at the same time. Suggestions on solutions ?

I have a Fire Tv Cube that I mostly use to turn on my TV and Receiver and switch them to the correct inputs. I mostly use my HTPC for everything. My plan is: 1. Plug the Flirc into my HTPC 2. Program the Flirc to understand Fire Tv Remote's button presses (e.g. HTCP controls, left, right, up, down, enter, back, etc...) Use case is: Use Fire Tv remote to turn on TV and switch inputs (this is using Fire Tv Cube's functions), then use Fire Tv remote to interface with my HTPC. Is that possible?

Hi all, I am trying to program URC MX-780 to power up/wake up my original MiBox (manually downgraded back to Android 8.0). After initial Xiaomi faulty upgrade of their MiBoxes (that made the box unstable and often unresponsive), I went back to using Roku which the MX-780 controls just fine. However, there is one custom app that cannot be loaded on Roku (Russian TV service that my mother watches). I was going to throw away the MiBox but found the tutorial on downgrading it back to original FW which worked and now I have fully functioning MiBox. Hello dear authors of Flirc, I have just purchased the Flirc IR receiver and using it in conjunction with Remote Buddy 2 on macOS Mojave on a Mac Pro 5,1 and a Pioneer VSX909RDS receiver. Pretty old, but very good devices. Now I found the Remote Buddy IR signal recoding function to sometimes not record the right command, but after a couple of tries it usually works. But there is one command on the remote of the Pioneer that for some reason after recoding in RB2 and attempting to play it back hangs the Flirc. Attaching a Log file from Flirc GUI so you can see. i have a flirc plugged into my tv so i can use an old ps2 remote as the main remote, all buttons work fine but the power button will only power off the tv and wont turn it back on. i have tried all the different "power" button presets in the controller section and they all do the same thing

Hello, I just purchased flirc to work with a HTPC connected to Lg tv with Magic Remote and it's no recognizing the remote:(:( any ideas? Works with my other tv remote, but I need it to work with the Lg magic remote.

Recently replaced my v1 flirc with v2 and my inteset v422-2 with v422-3. Was able to program everything back to normal except I cannot get the power button programmed to wake and resume, had to resort to separate buttons for now. I used to be able to hit the device (Kodi PC) and then power would both resume/suspend. Tried multiple combinations, macros, profiles but still no go. Anyone have any solutions that are known to work with this combo?

Hi, I'm having a problem that should be simpel to solve. I want to control MPC-BE with my Harmony Companion remote control. I need to use the Full keyboard controller as I need to be able to make key combinations as Ctrl+X, etc. If I chose the full keyboard in the Flirc GUI and I chose Manufacturer: Flirc and Device: XBMC as recommended in this support post, I can only chose the "remote control" buttons in the Harmony setup, when I want to map keys to the Harmony remote. What I'm looking for is the ability to map any key from the keyboard to the Harmony Companion remote keys. I would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. …

Nothing in the way of instructions on how to use this but after reading a few blog posts i think i figured out how Flirc works. Using Flirc s/w i set it up to use Kodi key mappings. Then with MyHarmony i added Flirc/FireTV (I dont have a fire tv i have an nvidia shield; but someone suggested setting manu as firetv - also tried shield tv) added this new device to my Kodi activity synced remote When i select Kodi activity the "default keys" work for some things in Kodi; but not everything. Sorry to ask this, as I imagine it has already been asked. Rather than use the FireStick I am using Tivimate in Bluestacks. The reason is to bypass some of the storage problems, by having Tivimate on my computer. I would like to use the Firestick remote to interface with Flirc, but Firestick remote is RF (I believe) and Flirc is, of course IR. Surely someone else is using their firestick remote with Flirc? My question is where can I find an RF to IR converter to make this happen? I have searched, but to no avail. I know I could use my Universal Remote, but it is too big to be an elegant solution.

Hello, I recently purchased a Flirc USB dongle to replace the dongle of the Cideko Air Keyboard remote. This one does not work properly with my media center (under windows 10) the direction keys (up, down, right, left) and media keys (volume, play, stop...) are not recognized. I hope to replace the dongle with the Flirc one but when I try to program it, it recognizes the direction keys (up, down, right, left) and the media center commands (volume, pause, stop...) but I can't make it recognize the keyboard letters ? I recently got a Shield TV Pro (2019) and bought a Flirc USB so that I could use my Harmony 950 remote to work with the Shield with IR commands. I do not have the Harmony Hub. I updated the Flirc firmware on my PC, then followed these instructions to add Flirc+Shield TV as a Harmony device. This gets the arrow keys, Select, Back, and Home buttons to work, however several other buttons from the Shield remote don't work, even though they show up in the Harmony software as options: Power, Menu, Play, and Netflix. I can work around or ignore most of those, but I need the Menu button to work for Flirc to be of use for me. Is there something I missed? Or did anyone g…

I run Linux Mint 20.04 on a MythTV frontend on an ASUS PN50 mini-PC. As the Consumer Infrared isn't fully supported for my PC, I opted for FLIRC USB. I've used several WMC remotes and they all have problems with keys being "already mapped". These include the "OK" key, the "Back" key, the Volume Up key and the Channel Up key. The issue occurs with the GUI. I've tried and failed to run the commandline version, but it fails looking for the "libreadline6" library, which is out of date and not available for my platform, which is on libreadline8. I've tried disabling the HDMI CEC feature from the BIOS, but that doesn't help. I should note that I run a wireless Logitech key…

I have a URC MX 900 and have ordered the FLIRC to connect into 2019 PRO USB port. I have the URC program, and the code for the devices LG TV, Integra, Sony BR, which were set up by the installer, since out of business :-( Is there a setup guide or sample for setting up the MX 900 to control the Shield? Anyone have any look with this type of remote: Acer Ebay link It's practically identical to this Philips remote Apparently its an RC6 but I can't get Flirc to recognise any button presses at all. I can see the IR led flashing on a camera when I make a button push... though that's no sign of compatibility. Any help would be appreciated! Cheers
