I have flirc mostly running on an android box with xbmc. I have set up a harmony remote with the Flirc profile, which works almost perfectly, but I need the "back" button to send the "esc" command. How can I do this? Edit: did a quicky test, and it turns out the Flirc produces space for "exit", and backspace for the back key. But if I do "flirc_util record escape" I get "button already exists". Escape is indeed tied to a key, but I have no idea which; the settings say "257BC215 escape" I've seen the FAQ suggesting "use any other remote", but I don't know what that means. Should I set up a boxee remote in MyHarmony? And then do what? Edit: I was able to edit…

Hello, I am having trouble erasing the keys on my remote. I can't even program any new keys, I'm just stuck with the keys I originally programmed. I want to completely format the data on this device and start again but I'm unable to do so. I've tried everything on the forum nothing is working. The GUI erase button doesn't work, clear configuration nothing! I've gone to File > Advanced then unselected Builtin profiles, clicked "x" and it still doesn't work. I go back into Advanced and the Built-in profiles is still selected. There is no option for me to press OK after I unselected it. I have also tried forcing firmware update many times and the app just crashes. I h…

Hello, I have Flirc running firmware 2.4, Harmony Ultimate remote, and RaspBMC. When I first installed Flirc it worked great for a couple of weeks or so. Then I started getting the repeating keys issue and every button press would result in to two. I searched the forums and found a lot of things to try such as modifying the remote to use Repeat = 0, changing the delays, etc. But after I tried changing it now nothing works. My remote keys still work in the Flirc configuration program (for example when I press up on the remote the up button the lights up in the configuration progrm). But now my raspbmc doesn't seem to recognize any remote key pre…

Hi there, I have just recently set up my new Flirc stick and the mapping as such was nice and easy. I am using the stick with a Zotac mini PC and a Logitech Harmony One as remote. Also I have to use a IR repeater whenever I use by cinema projection screen. This IR repeater is a Marmitek Invisible Control 6 XTRA which is rather powerful as I can use my remote wherever I want in a larger room. There are two things that seem strange with Flirc: - Many people complain that the IR receiver is too sensitive. I cannot conirm this. For me the opposite is true: it is too insensitive! Can it be that the Flirc is very much depending on the angle it is attached to the …

Specifically, I'm having problems with FLIRC performing very inconsistently on my Asus Chromebox running Openelec. I used a Windows 7 PC to set it up, and had no problems at all with the setup. I have tried clearing and reprogramming it more than a few times. I found after moving the FLIRC to a rear usb port on the Chromebox, I was getting slightly better performance, but still it will drop keys unexpectedly after working fine for a while. At times it works almost as well as I had hoped/expected it to, but at other times it is almost completely useless. Any ideas as to why this is happening? I really want to love this thing, but it has to work first. Also, the remote I'…

Unlike the people complaining that they have problems with repeating keys, I would actually like that. I have to press the up or down button a million times to scroll though a long list of shows. (what is this the dark ages? lol). I am wondering if there is a way for the Flirc to just repeat the command as long as you hold down the button?

Hi guys, I really don't what do do here. My Flirc keep sending the back button from time to time (like I pressed the back) what happens is when I am watching a movie xbmc returns to the previous screen all the time. If I leave only my receiver and my pi on I can hear the key presses from time to time. What can I do? I setup my harmony with the Flirc Media Profile so there is no chance that interference is the problem. Thanks

I have a new install of Kubuntu 13.10 on at Intel DN2820. I have downloaded the zip file and extracted Flirc and flirc_util. Attempting run do sudo ./Flirc returns to the command line and if I do a dmesg I get this: [16813.819316] Flirc[5025]: segfault at 4 ip b776ff53 sp bfb76590 error 4 in ld-2.17.so[b7765000+20000]. Is there an update or other way to correct this issue. Thanks

Hello, 1. my understanding of Flirc is, that I plug in the stick into my Windows 7 PC, take e.g. the remote control from my TV and learn some keys of the remote control into the Flirc stick. (The TV is a Display for the PC). Then I start VLC (a media player program for all types of movies) and play a movie. When I now press a key on the remote control from the TV, Flirc should recognize e.g. the stop key and pass it to VLC.However this doesn't work. When I learn all number keys from 1 to 0 into Flirc and I start a simple Editor or open a Windows cmd window and press then the number keys on the remote control, this works and the numbers are written in the file edi…

I have been using Intelliremote software from Melloware alongwith HP MCE remotes and their IR receivers for last 3 years. The product works superbly, allows different profiles for say XBMC, PowerDVD, VLC and so on. Every button in every profile can be programmed as desired. The profiles are switched by pressing one assigned remote button and the start button on the remote is set to execute the respective profile program. It does everything you can expect from an HTPC remote including triple tap (alphanumeric keys), execute the program with the remote etcetera. I bought two FLIRC units recently hoping to further better my experience of HTPC remote control, Found it a g…

Hi, Pretty simple issue, but I have been strugling with this quite a long time. I noticed that with the newest fw (2.5) and Harmony 650, my IntelNUC with OpenElec (4.0.2) have quite bad remote response. What I noticed is that if I clear the settings of Flirc and manually add the commands from the keyboard side. Then the response is very good and I´m satisfied. Problem is that if I clear the configuration it also unchecks the sleeps function. It´s disactivated. I can´t figure out that how do I activate it without complete reflash of Flirc. Because when I reflash it, it brings back the bad response settings... Any ideas? -thx Timo

Hi, I am trying to get flirc to work with csos (Fedora) on a wandboard quad. I have updated the firmware to 2.6 and programmed the keys I need. The programming works as the remote generates the corrects letters in a word processor on a pc or mac. However, when I plug it into the wandboard, nothing! Lsusb sees the flirc and flirc setup shows the keys programmed. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Hello, I've installed Flirc and programmed the MCE-buttons in my Harmony One+, set up (as learned from the Internet) as a Samsung UN55D5000 TV. Unfortunately when I've tested it in MCE, only a few of the buttons actually work (even though they've been properly recorded): Play/Pause won't work, Stop won't work, but FF and Reverse do work. Have I done something wrong or is the product faulty? This is very annoying. I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro with Mediacenter

Hi guys, I just can't figure it out. I own a mainboard which lets me power up via USB, also from a completely turned off state. I just have to press any key on, say a wireless Logitech Keyboard. Somehow I can't get that same thing working with my Xbox One Media Remote & Flirc, although it should be the same thing? Is there anything special I need to map to one of the keys on the remote? Greets and thanks in advance for help!

Okay, so my FLIRC has worked well with the Harmony remote as well as with a previous Onkyo remote to control my RPi's Openelec installation. However, FLIRC seems to forget how to accept IR commands from either of the two remotes it is setup for. I have to reset it by reflashing it's BIOs each time. Then, it can either work instantly with my Harmony One or work after being reprogrammed to an Onkyo remote. This has just gotten way too annoying. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'm using a harmony ultimate remote and have setup the 'flirc xbmc' profile in the harmony.com settings. However I previously used flirc for a different remote and the instructutions in this thread mention that it should be all ready to go however - it's just has the profile for the last remote. how to I get it to work without setting up the remote manually in the flirc GUI? - do I just clear the current configuration and it will be ready to go?

Is there a way to map the menu key on the keyboard, perhaps on the command line? It's usually next to the right Windows key.
