Hello, unfortunately the apple remote dont work with the MacBook Retina (no ir-receiver inside). Its possible to use the flirc usb and the orig. apple remote on osx? I need it for keynote/powerpoint regards

Does anyone know how to setup the new Nexus Player with Flirc? I'm using a Harmony 650 and it works out of the box for all directions as well as select and play-pause once the Flirc XBMC profile has been setup on the Harmony software. Back and Home, however do not work with any harmony remote key programmed. Loading up XBMC on the Nexus Player shows that most of the default mappings do indeed work there. I'm using firmware 3.1. Any help getting Home and Back working would be greatly appreciated.

I stream all kinds of stuff from the Mac at my desk to the stereo in front of my couch on the opposite side of the room. I'm using Flirc to control the Mac with a universal remote. It works great except for one problem: people always point the remote at the stereo instead of pointing it back toward the Mac on the other side of the room, which means the commands often fail because the remote isn't pointed at Flirc. My goal is to see if it's possible to move Flirc - to somehow set it by the stereo and connect it wirelessly to my Mac on the other side of the room. Hi, just got my FLIRC, tried all inter-key delay options, anything but 0 does 3 presses, however, on 0 it works once, then the next press is doubled, then once, then double etc etc is there anything I can do? no USB extension, nothing out of the ordinary, latest 3.1 firmware, tried noise cancellation on & off Ouya in XBMC, Harmony remote

I use Media Portal for some things, XBMC for others. I use a Microsoft MCE remote (also have an oldish Harmony that I'm not made about as the touch screen is very slow). I would love to be able to program the Flirc so that one button would launch Media Portal (currently the green Media Center button does this) and another button would launch XBMC and that by pressing the relevant button I could then switch between the two applications (launching them if not opened, switching focus to them if already opened) and control them with the remote. Is this possible? I can't see any way to associate a key with a .exe file, is this possible? Or does it need something like a hot…

Hello, I have programmed Up and Down keys on FLIRC for my remote to behave like up and down keyboard keys, on a dualboot machine running different Linux installations. I would expect that since FLIRC would be basically sending keyboard signals to the PC that it should be possible to operate the GRUB2 boot menu with the keyboard, using up and down. But there is no response on the screen, probably FLIRC is not operating at this stage of boot. Can I somehow use a remote and FLIRC to control GRUB2 menu?

Hi, I'm running OpenElec on a Mac Mini with a Flirc. Is there a way to turn this machine on (cold boot) with Flirc? I was able to do this on PC but it's not working on the Mac. Anyone know if this is possible, or is the Flirc in a completely off with no power. Cheers Gary

I have the flirc working perfect on the fire tv but not all the buttons are working for xbmc on the fire tv. I'm not sure how to fix it, can I get an addon in xbmc?

Flirc was working very well with my old Flirc firmware on my RaspBMC. I saw the new firmware and updated, then remapped my remote control buttons (on my Windows laptop) but now when I plug the Flirc USB into my RaspBMC nothing on the remote works. I've tried rebooting RaspBMC with no luck. And if I plug the Flirc back into my Windows Laptop I can see the remote buttons work. Do I need to try the old firmware again?

Hi. i just got the flirc today and i'm sorry to say there a lot of work to be done on XBMC. there is no "context menu" button key on xbmc controller and the "full screen mode" button is not doing what it supposed to do. dose are the most important keys in XBMC . the flirc programer need to know a little bit about XBMC before he release it to the public. please go and learn. you can download one of many free XBMC control app's to your smartphone to understand what dose feature do. please replay. So, as of yesterday. Out of nowhere, my flirc stopped working. I have no updated anything or changed anything. I pressed the button I have programmed on my Harmony remote to wake my HTPC and it worked, but none of the other keys would work, unless I had my remote positioned perfectly. I found one sweet spot in my living room that the flirc seems to like. But siting on the couch or anywhere other than this perfect spot doesn't seem to work. I will try updating the firmware tonight. Besides that, any other suggestions? Thanks.

A few moths ago, I purchased Flirc and programmed it on my windows machine using the Panasonic TV profile as posted at Plugged the Flicr dongle into my XBMCBUNTU machine and everything worked great. Best gadget I have ever purchased. I have since had to reinstall XBMC on that machine and instead of using XBMCBUNTU like I originally did, I installed Ubuntu and added the xbmc packages. I was expecting to just plug the Flicr dongle in and it would work just like before since the programming is contained on the dongle, but it now does nothing. The remote is sending the command(based on the feedback indicator on the remote), but I get no response on the XBMC machine.…

Hi all, I've been using a Flirc on a NUC running Windows 8 and then 8.1 for a few months now. Suddenly today in XBMC, when I push any button, it repeats for ages. I've tried moving the Flirc to a macbook pro running Windows 7 and it does exactly the same thing. I see this behaviour in both the Flirc setup app and XBMC. If I connect it to a Mac running OS X 10.9, I don't see the behaviour. I upgraded the firmware to 2.4 and also did the 'Clear Configuration' step, but the problem persists. Can anyone advise what the cause of this might be ? Thanks,

Last weekend, out of the blue Flirc started acting up after almost 6 months of no problems. When I hit keys on the remote my Windows 8.1 HTPC would register multiple presses, I guess this is called sticky keys. Well, I came to these forums and discovered the updated GUI and firmware update. I followed steps to firmware update to v 3.1. First time I tried it failed and I had to reinstall drivers using zadig. Since then I've done successful firmware updates but its been a troubleshooting nightmare. Flirc GUI runs fine and sees my FLIRC connected. I have been working hard to try and get my FLIRC working with both an AppleTV remote and a Harmony remote. I have had a lot more success with the Harmony remote but still have issues. With the Apple TV remote I kept having double press/repeat issues. I had properly programmed the apple-tv remote to send the correct key presses to Ouya/XBMC and modded the keymap in XBMC to work. These key presses did indeed work but more often than not I would get double presses when I only hit the button on the apple tv remote once. I messed with the inter-key delay but I couldn't find any setting that would stop this problem. Any suggestions? I am positive I am missing…

Updated to 3.1. Now wake no longer works. It programs in the GUI just fine, but when I press the button assigned to wake, I see not response in the GUI, and it doesn't wake my device when connected. Can I please get the prior FW so I can downgrade my Flirc?

Hello, I'm running Windows 8.1, XBMC Gotham 13.2. I have been using using my Flirc with a One-For-All Simple 3 remote (URC 6430) on Gotham quite successfully for about 3-4 months. When I first got it, I did have some problems with key delay, but after messing around with the 'Inter-key delay' advanced settings and flashing the firmware a few times, it started to work really well. Yesterday I bought a Harmony Touch remote. I took the opportunity to upgrade the Flirc software (as I had seen some threads mentioning about the Harmony profiles) to software 1.2.7 and then upgraded the firmware to V3.0. Hi, Is there any way to view a saved config file in order to view the button mappings that were saved in it? The GUI doesnt show my mappings when i load a config file, likely because it was done in an older version (which I am unable to downgrade too) I have uploaded the config file but have no idea how to view it (Notepad doesnt show anything meaningful) Cheers my_flirc_config_VM.fcfg

Hello, I've had Flirc for about a year now and it's been working great. I've been using it in windows with no issues at all. I recently got an iMac with Yosemite. I installed the software and it prompted me to upgrade to firmware 3.1 which I did. Problem is that now when i try to program my flirc it can't be done. When I pair a key with my remote Flirc says it recorder succesfully but when I press the key on my remote, the Flirc software doesn't light up the key I recorded. This only happens in Yosemite. Hey guys! So the Flirc is an amazing little device, i had some trouble getting it connected but i managed to work it out. I was wondering if you could combine the flirc with an IR blaster or a SGS 4 for example which has an IR blaster built in? That way i could make any remote a multi remote to turn on my tv, projector, stereo etc and not just for HTPC control.

I bought two FLIRC with the intent of using them on two different computers: (1) a raspberry Pi model B running Xbian and (2) a "regular" x86 computer running XBMC frodo 12.0 on Debian 7 wheezy. Both FLIRC run firmware v3.1 RASP PI 1.) I am experiencing weird issues on the R-PI (model B ). I did some research and believe it might be the common power issue (makes sense to me, I am an electrical engineer). Oddly, moving from the 5W "iphone" PSU to the 12W "ipad" PSU did not solve it. Hi everyone I use Intelliremote to manage all of the remote controls on my machines. It enables me to use different profiles, and allocate a range of actions/keyboard presses to specific remote control buttons. I bought a flirc because I thought it would enable me to use a universal remote on a new PC. However, I've now learned that flirc actually appears as a keyboard in windows, and not as an IR receiver. I therefore cannot find any way of getting flirc to interact with intelliremote. So: 1. Is there any way of getting flirc to be recognised as an IR receiver rather than a keyboard? 2. Hello, I had a working setup, but then I decided to be adventurous and try to update and see if that solved some of my sleep/wake issues. Unfortunately, now my Flirc doesn't seem to work at all with the remote. I can't remember what version I was on previously, but I've tried the 5 most recent RCs and they all seem to do the same thing. When I record one key from the remote it seems to think that every button I push on that remote is the same signal. I'm using the RCA RCRP05BR 5 Device Cable Replacement Universal Remote. Are there plans to release an update so the Linux client (presumably 1.27 will recognize the 3.0 firmware. I updated one of my flircs to 3.0 but would like to program the keys on a Linux machine. It flirc client won't recognize this level of FW. Thanks.
