Hi All, I've been contemplating how best to make sure users don't buy Flirc is it doesn't suit their needs, equally encouraging them to buy it if it does. To this end I think it would be a great idea to involve the great community here on the forums so you can chime in with your pro's and cons. Ideally i'm trying to make it easy to skim through and read so request we all use the same basic template: Giving something to easily read through. 1) Had the Flirc software loaded on my Windows 8.1 machine and it worked fine, upgraded to Windows 10 and it STILL works. 2) Did NOT have Flirc program loaded on another Windows 8.1 machine, upgraded to Windows 10, installed Flirc program and it will NOT work. When I check the device manager it says that there is a driver problem with the Flirc device. If I start the Flirc program it does not show the device as connected and when I exit it tells me that the program is not working properly and forces a program shut down. Anyone else having this problem or know how to correct the driver problem? Can I obtain the Flirc drives so I can point Windows 10 to them? …

Hi - I just bought the newest 2023 FireTV 4k Max v2 on the Black Friday sales. While it appeared to work properly with my old Flirc at first, I noticed that it doesn't work 100% of the time. For example, the "OK" button works most of the time, but it doesn't work at all in the Sling TV application. When I switched my new v2 FireTV stick with our FireTV 4K Max v1 stick, Sling TV works perfectly when the OK button is pressed. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hello, received my flirc v2 today. Installed everything and updated firmware (Flirc-Setup-3.27.19.exe). I mapped the "eject" key on "ps4 template" to a remote code from my "tbs remote". When i then press the key on the "tbs remote", in the flirc software, it shows "ch+" key, instead of the selected "eject" key on the ps4 template. This happens to many other buttons too! I map a key from the "tbs remote "to a specific key on the ps4 template BUT after, when pressing the button, it only presses the "ch+" key in the ps4 template. So, in this state flirc is unusable for me because 90% of the mapped buttons from my "tbs remote" all press the …

I just bought the new Google TV Streamer 4K to replace my NVIDIA Shield TV Pro. I've been using Flirc with my Shield with no problems, and had assumed it'd be a simple swap to the Google box. It wasn't quite as simple as I thought. The problem is that the Google box only has 1 USB-C port on the back, for power. There's nowhere to plug in an additional USB device. Does anyone know an easy way of programming a remote so it replicates the effect of a right mouse button click. It must have been fairly easy and I don't think it involved any coding. I've done it before but I can't remember how I did it and now I need to do it again. Grrrr....

Hello, I have a question regarding the commandline tool flirc_util. Problem stopped after a reboot from the computer; I cannot reproduce it so removing the question. When I learn a couple of keys on the Flirc (using the commandline tool), and then run "flirc_util settings", it shows me the list of keys I've learned. If I then unplug the Flirc and replug it, the programmed keys still work, but "flirc_util settings" shows an empty list. If I now learn some keys, "flirc_util settings" will only show the newly learned keys. Is this the intended behaviour? i do have phantom keypresses although my mini PC (GMKtec G3 plus) is hidden in a box in a cupboard. I am using the FLIRC adapter under current LibreELEC with a Skip 1s remote. Most of the time, it seems to receive a "move right" keypress so that in menus, the selection moves right to the next item in videos, the video skips 10 seconds which is quite annoying as you may understand. I want to record play/pause with ctrl alt p. I am on Big Linux. I am using the command line because when using the GUI the buttons light up when pressed but do not record. I look at flirc_util setting and the key gets bound to ctrl alt f. delete by index does not work :(. I had to unplug the usb because key interference made it so I couldn't type. Like the ctrl alt f is being pressed without me pressing the button. record_api 5 9 is what I put in. help! I have used used flirc_util device_log --ir -p and yes I get a lot of interference. The Gen2 Flirc USB device has the 'long key press' support which is a nice benefit. Can I use the Gen1 setup data (a *.fcfg file) also at Gen2? I.e. can I skip the IR-code learning steps? Thanks!

I'm having issues with my first foray into Flirc... Windows 11, Flirc Gen 2, Skip 1s remote (the Skip 1s works flawlessly with TV and other IR devices, no issues there). I have the Flirc USB to go in an Nvidia Shield. Downloaded and installed Flirc USB software on PC. Plugged Flirc into PC USB port, recognised by software, updated firmware successfully. Flirc logs show nothing of interest (screenshot attached to show IR debugging enabled). Long story short; I broke the first rule of computing: "Never change a running system!" I installed a Flirc USB gen 2 on my mac in 2019 and it worked flawlessly since then. Even changing computers didn't do harm to it. So I updated the Flirc software on my M1 Mac Mini. Now I see that the Flirc-software still recognised my remote, but my computer does not. (Software shows "connectet", I see my programmed remote control buttons beeing pressed correctly, Firmware got updated in the process) Git Version: 3.27.19 I can't think of anything else I could try. Hello, I want to use a mini-PC to install LibreElec on it, and the idea is that I’d be able to boot it up using my TV remote. I’ve heard about Flirc, but there’s one unknown: would the Flirc USB dongle be able to initiate the boot process (or, at the very least, wake it from sleep), just like pressing a key on the keyboard to wake up the OS ? Hello! Is this not supposed to work? I purchased a new FLIRC, Fire TV Edition from someone who told me it was supposed to work on PC as well. Since I have no micro USB on my HTPC, I purchased an adapter: "Micro USB to USB C". But when I plug it in, nothing happens. When I open the flirc software, nothing happens either. It just says "Please connect flirc" and "Disconnected". What can I do?

I have a FLIRCV2 USB device and have been trying to down download the appropriate software for a Windows 11 HTPC. On the web site for this device I click download then accept terms and the 'Download' button remains greyed out? Is there or a problem or am I at the wrong site? Flirc USB - Flirc

So I took the plunge and now doing the battle of getting a flirc to make my Nividia Shield 3rd gen work with my Harmony One remote. After doing the Google thing I almost got it working the way I wanted. I can't quite get it right so I came here. I was not sure which forum to post this in.. I had no problem using the Flirc USB with a Roku remote. But the Flirc USB does not recognize any signal from the Skip 1 remote? The Skip 1 remote appears to be working, indicator light comes on and it responds to it's app. Thanks

Hi, so I got the flirc usb, programmed it on windows OS to the nvidia shield gen2 controller and paired a couple of buttons with my lg remote tv (after pressing the button the gui confirmed that the instruction was saved), but upon inserting it into the shield nothing happens when I click any of the buttons on the LG remote. I made sure that USB debugging is of and HD storage as well. Any other ideas what could be the culprit?

I am a potential new customer that has a few questions. For the purpose of asking these questions lets assume that I have a windows laptop, a cheap 21 button IR remote from eBay, a remote for my air conditioner, and a remote for my floor mounted fan. I would like to use the 21 button remote as the master. There is no media center involved. I would like to map a few of the keys on small remote to some of the keys on AC and fan remote. I don't know how this is done yet. However what would really be nice is to have the Flirc software ask me to press a key on the small remote and then ask me to press a key on the ac remote and then map the two of them together. …

I just got my Flirc USB a few days ago and am getting along pretty well. I am using two remote controls and have programmed a button on one remote control to keypress the letter "a". I programmed a button on the second remote to keypress the letter "s". I shifted focus to a Word doc to verify that each is working and they are. This just shows that I have everything installed correctly. What I would now like to do is to program a button on the first remote so that it will transmit the exact same IR code that is associated with a second button on the second remote control. Jason et al; We are seeing/sending new 4.10.6 production units, we are stable @4.10.5 with no FLIRC app installed on machines, unable to rollback new flircs to our stable using our custom app. Can we get 4.10.7 binary for testing/integration so we can roll with it? With kind regards, Rob
