I found an great app to use with Flirc on Android: External Keyboard Helper. It lets you remap the incoming keypresses (of any external keyboard) to any other keypress or media key avaliable in android .

  2. This is my first Flirc post, so apologies in advance. I'm planning to use Flirc to combine the functions of my Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player with the volume control of my Pioneer receiver. The BDP-93 does not process digital audio (other than mute it; analog audio does allow control through the BDP-93). Instead, the BDP-93 pushes digital audio 100% through a HDMI 4.0 cable to my Pioneer Media Receiver, which distributes it. Question. Can Flirc be used to combine all the Oppo-93 commands with my Pioneer Media Receiver volume control? If so, how would I go about it? Links are welcome. Thanks in advance.

  4. Started by BigEd781,

I searched around and didn't find anything. I am using a Tivo Premiere remote with XBMC. Flirc software up to date. When I originally programmed my flirc for XBMC, holding down the volume controls would continuously change the volume, as expected. However, after reseting my remote to factory (so that it would cease to also control the television) and reprogramming my flirc, holding down the volume +- buttons changes the volume by only a single increment (as if I had pressed and quickly let go.) Has anyone else experienced this? I have reprogrammed twice now with no luck. Perhaps it's the remote, I don't know, but changing the volume is now a huge PITA. Thanks …

Hi guys I'm having trouble with my flirc waking my pc (acer revo r3700, openelec 3.2.4) from suspend by itself. I have enabled sleep detection and assigned a wake button on my remote. This wakes it as it should. I left it in suspend last night before I went to bed an it was awake in the morning. Before I got in bed tonight I wrapped the flirc in tin foil and set my pc to suspend to see if it's still in suspend in the morning. Any Ideas?

  6. Started by MrNice,

Hi, I didn't find an answer in the forum, so: My remote has only 1 key for play/pause. Is it possible to assign a toggle key with play/pause (play when in stop/pause and pause when in play) in the Flirc? In Flirc software all the controlers have 2 separate keys. If not how do you manage to have play and pause in you remote? Many thanks

  7. Hi all, This isn't really a Flirc question, but I imagine Flirc users run into this a lot. I have XBMC installed on Win7 PC w/ flirc. On my LG TV remote, the "enter" button in the middle of the 4-direction key performs the enter function on XBMC. It works like it should. However, the enter key ALSO makes the TV display the current "program information" pop up menu. Obviously, when the HDMI input is on the HTPC, there is no program information and anyways I don't want the program information menu to pop up. Is there any way to inhibit this for the TV? Every time I press enter during XBMC navigation, the "program information" menu on the TV also pops up and I hav…

  8. Started by Ommand,

So my flirc arrived in the mail today and I'm having an issue with it. Repeated key response is unacceptably slow and if I push a button on my remote thrice in quick succession it skips 9-12 menu entries. I've gone through a few dozen hopelessly outdated forum threads hoping to find a solution with no luck. I've fiddled with the repeat settings and interkey delays with no appreciable difference. If I abandon the flirc entirely and use the generic IR receiver I have everything works fine perfectly, unfortunately the number of keys I'm able to set with it are very limited due to the receiver not being RC6 compliant. I'm using firmware 2.3 and have the "flirc xbmc…

  9. Started by fliusr,

I'm using my TV remote as the flirc remote. Mostly I'm just using the arrow buttons for XBMC, and the play/pause/volume buttons for XBMC/Netflix. When I'm watching TV (not on the HTPC) and happen to click one of the flirc buttons on the TV remote, it also does some things on the HTPC. It's usually not a big deal, but we don't always leave the HTPC in a "good" state for random arrow presses. Sometimes we leave it in the middle of a movie, and accidentally pressing the play button gets the movie going again even though we're not watching it (HDMI input on some other device for example). Does anyone else run into this issue? Is there a way to make Flirc smarter? …

  11. Hello, I'm a new Flirc user, using this on a Win7 HTPC. There's only a few applications that I would like to use the Flirc to launch - XBMC, Firefox browser (for Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon video). I read the blog post about using a program call "Alauncher" to link IR remote to a short launch list. Is there a free program for windows like that? Specifically, it seems like there are apps that'll link hot keys to specific apps, but I like to idea of one remote button bringing up a list, and I can pick from the list using the arrow buttons. That way, four apps won't translate to 4 different remote buttons being taken up. Idealy, this program would let me specific shortc…

  12. I bought a flirc 2 weeks ago and I've been messing with programming it here and there but having a huge problem, the keys seem to be duplicated commands according to the gui. I've cleared my settings countless times but the results are the same. Has anyone had this happen? I'm on firmware 2.3 in windows 8.1 and to give you an idea of the problems; the up direction is also the right direction, esc key, f10, f11 and probably some other keys. I tried changing the sensitivity but I get the same results. Any suggestions are welcome

  13. For several weeks I'm now trying to get my Flirc to work with my Ouya, but without luck. I followed and tried various other things, but can't get a single remote command to work when Flirc is connected to the Ouya. I can safely assume that the USB port on the Ouya is working, as any memory stick, USB mouse or cable based USB keyboard works - any USB device I connect works on the Ouya. My Harmony One works with all other devices and send proper IR commands. I used the profile "Flirc > XBMC" for my activity I program the Flirc through a Mac. Using flirc_util, I get following output after a "fresh" install of the flirc: sh-3.2# ./flirc_util version Flirc …

  14. Hello, I wonder if someone can help me? I have a Mythbuntu system where flirc was working ok. ubuntu update-manager offered some updates which I took. I know!!! Unfortunately about the same time I was trying to sort a problem with screen blanking so I don't know if something I did to do with that broke flirc. Now flirc is not working. steve@mythbuntu:~/Flirc$ ./Flirc QGtkStyle was unable to detect the current GTK+ theme. fl_open_devices(333): trying to open: 20A0 :: flirc.tv [D] fl_open_devices(379): 8087:8008 (bus 1, device 2) [D] fl_open_devices(379): 8087:8000 (bus 2, device 2) [D] fl_open_devices(379): 1241:1166 (bus 3, device 2) [D] fl_open_device…

  15. Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere, but I'm having trouble getting the flirc software to recognize that the device is actually connected. I used the zadig tool to create the signed driver, and it appears to be working correctly when checking the device manager, but the software to program it says that it's disconnected. I was able to install and get the software to recognize the flirc on an older Windows 7 machine, but not on the one I actually need it to work on (windows 8, ASRock H77M motherboard with USB 3.0 ports). Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

  17. Hey everyone, I just ordered my FLIRC two days ago and am still waiting for it to arrive in my mail box. Because I can't actually set up my FLIRC yet, I've just been reading various threads involving XBMC (which I plan on using with FLIRC) but very little on Netflix at all. I have recently experimented with the NetfliXBMC addon for XBMC but found that it's not extremely reliable and doesn't really work as seamlessly as I'd like. I have read elsewhere that there was/is some Netflix addon for Windows Media Center, but I have not managed to actually get it installed as the installation keeps failing. Anyways, what do you guys recommend as the best way to cont…

Hi all- I'm trying to record just the Windows button- just the basic press of the Windows key (between Ctrl+Alt)... It doesn't seem to be listed in the command line record options and the GUI seems to only want me to be able to use it for shortcuts like Windows+R, etc... What am I missing?

  19. Hi Guys I am another proud owner of a FLIRC receiver and have to say its amazing. Quick detail on my setup: FLIRC Beta RC4 - Full keyboard profile Harmony 900 (using SAMSUNG LN46C650L1F profile) XBMC: Frodo 12.2 Mac Mini 2011/Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I have read a couple of posts regarding computers being woken up by FLIRC and think this is happening to me. I originally posted over at the XBMC forums thinking it was something to do with XBMC - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=173134&pid=1504230#pid1504230 but after testing it appears to be FLIRC which is causing me problems. 23. Hey there, I've run into a little bit of trouble with flirc and a One For All Xsight Colour. Flirc works like a charm with our Harmony 300i, but it really struggles with the Xsight Colour. I've used the flirc gui to assign the keys on the remote-control to "keyboard keys", which worked. Unfortunately though, almost everytime I press a key on the remote control, it somehow doesn't get "accepted". I tried double-recording the keys, but that didn't help either. Is there a way to determine it the problem is caused by the remote control (which works fine with other devices btw) or by flirc? Pillendreher

  24. Started by skateoroma,

Edit: Just noticed I posted under wrong topic. Can this be moved? In the past I ran XBMC on a full Ubuntu desktop 10.04 environment, installed Flirc, used the GUI setup, and all was well. I just reinstalled XBMC on top of Ubuntu Minimal (used this script http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=141369) and now my remote will not work at all. I tried the command line with; $ flirc record and mapped all of my keys, saved the config with; $ flirc saveconfig $ flirc normal but still no luck. I've searched the forum but cannot find this topic. Anyone familiar with my issue? Thanks for any help. Flirc Version 1.0.2 Firmware Version: 1 10-02-20…

  25. Hi All, Excited to get my FLIRC up and running, I'm having a bit of an issue setting it up though. Obviously everyone seems to have a Harmony remote but I've always had a Phillips Prestigo SRU 8015 http://www.philips.co.uk/c/remote-control/prestigo-15-in-1-sru8015_10/prd/ What I want to do is create a new device on the remote itself and program that device with the FLIRC app. My question is, which other device already has a remote that has all the functions of XBMC so I can program it over this? Alternatively is their a way to get FLIRC to send the signal of the button press to the remote? My remote "learns" by selecting the button on the Prestigo then pressing th…
