two.bits.11
I have used three different IR repeaters with no success. I programmed my remote and flirc without the IR repeater. Everything worked very well until I put the flirc in the media cabinet. Nothing work with the IR repeater in the loop. Someone suggested programming flirc with the IR repeater in the loop. I tried this, but was unable to program anything. I also turned on the noise cancellation option. I would get the "Button already exists" message. No IR repeater compatibility is a deal breaker for me. I just purchased eight flircs and at least four will require IR repeaters. Anyone had luck with another IR repeater/remote combo? Budwyzer
I moved your post and merged them. I remember something about someone elses similar issue with an IR repeater a while back, that I believe became resolved. First question is: Have you tested the IR repeater with anything else? (While I go look for that thread) Second question: It wouldn't happen to be the repeater discussed in http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/685-flirc-does-not-recognize-ir-blaster-signal/?hl=repeater#entry4655, would it? two.bits.11
Thanks for the reply. I am not getting notified when someone replies to my posts. First: The IR repeater has been in my AV cabinet for years and has worked very well with many devices using many different protocols and frequencies. It even handles the Microsoft frequencies well. Second: No, I am using this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BLTDZA/ It has been by far the most reliable one I have every used. I have tried at least five brands. This is the first device that it has not worked with it in 5 years.

I'd like to try them as well. I'm creating a faq with this information: https://flirc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202443378

dmsny
Sorry for the double post but this may be of interest here: I've found a simple solution to all these repeater/extender problems with Flirc, so I thought I would post here. I also tried a bunch of different extenders because my media Mac is located behind a cabinet with one HDMI cable going to the TV. None of them worked reliably. Had to be a certain distance and point the remote dead center at the sensor- not practical. Tried learning with and without the extender. If the extender was out of the loop, Flirc worked great every time. I found these IR over HDMI kits and they all work without any delay, from any angle, and from across the room. Very reliable. http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-109964-Extender-Over-HDMI/dp/B00CQLISDM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408641882&sr=8-1&keywords=Ir+over+hdmi http://www.amazon.com/Sewell-Direct-SW-30062-Dual-InjectIR/dp/B00CA7EKHK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408641882&sr=8-2&keywords=Ir+over+hdmi This one can send to multiple emitters and includes a more convenient front facing IR sensor: http://www.lindy-usa.com/infrared-over-hdmi-extender-kit-38017.html Hope this helps some folks. Dolittle
Bratek Hidden IR Repeater System. Dual band. Inexpensive and really works well with no noticable delays. I think I paid $23 on-line. It comes with 2 dual output emitters for 4 locations and has additional ports for more emitters. I use it for ATT-Uverse, Pioneer VSX-1020, Samsung BR, and Samsung TV. I use a Logitec Harmony One and a cheap ($10) RCA universal remote for the garage. Reviews I have read all say the same thing...
jason
I believe my new firmware should support compatibility for repeaters now. I need to confirm, but my new firmware is really solid. Available in the beta section of the forum, and will be released soon.
