Hi there, Can someone please help me with troubleshouting my setup? I'm trying to use a RasberryPI 5 (running on PI OS) and Flirc USB V2 to send ir-signals using the flirc_util sendir command. After recording the ir pattern from the remote and trying to send it with the command line, I can't get it up and running. Below my Flirc information and attached the commands I've tried... Hi, yesterday i've got my new Flirc USB and i was excited about it's possibilities/functionality. I want to use it on a Raspberry 4 with Kodi. First i plugged it into a Windows PC, installed the software, made a firmware update to v4.10.5 and programmed my remote. Everything looked good, but after about 10 minutes the remote stopped working. First i thought it's a Kodi problem, but after pluging it back into the Windows PC i realized, that the complete programming has been gone/deleted. Hi there, I got a Linux machine running vdr, a Skip1s and a FLIRC. Now I have two problems: When I press a button, the command is sent several times, I have to hit the buttem extremly short. Ist there a solution yet? In the Flirc software, I use "full keyboard", in the Skip1S I used Hauppauge/WinTV. The problem here is I can't assign two remote buttons to the same key. For example, "yellow" on the remote is "F1" on the vdr, but also "fast forward" (when watchign a video". But I can't assign two remote buttons to one keyprress. Is there a solution for this? I have a generic MCE remote that has a pad input that act like a joystick which moves the curser around. How can I program the pad to work? Also, I'd like to program 2 keys to act like a left & right mouse buttons. I'm realy liking Flirc, is there any plans to include a template to easily program a joystick?

Hello, I just got a Flirc with the aim of integrating my HTPC as I got fed up trying to look for software that could translate TCP/UDP or even rs232 into keypresses to control apps. Other IR devices in my setup are a UDP-controlled IR blaster which thanks to Flirc will allow the pc to be controlled from home automation, a TV (via a hdmi-extender with IR forwarding), and an amplifier. As the IR receivers should be visible to the blasters but also to my remote, my aim is to also add an Arduino to act as a IR Extender so I can hide everything but one IR receiver. Will the Flirc Streacom Edition be revamped similar to the USB Flirc model? If so, when can we expect it to reach market?

Can anyone recommend an emitter shield that would work best with Flirc USB? I have a scenario where I need to physically attach the emitter to the Flirc USB dongle. We've done this before with DVD players and other devices but they have a much larger surface area. The one we were using is too big for the Flirc.

I have set up a linux box (Ubuntu 24) with Kodi. I bought Flirc v2, plugged it in and installed the setup software. I used my TV remote and could configure it with the flirc software successfully. But in Kodi the remote does not seem to work at all. I did the same on my windows machine and the remote control worked just fine with Kodi from the start. Thinking about ditching my Apple TVs and using Intel NUCs (or maybe a Raspberry Pi's) as playback devices for my Plex server. (Trying to use playback devices that support direct play of virtually ALL media) but after using FireTVs, Shield, generic Android boxes, Roku, Apple TV........ to me and my family, the Siri remote reigns supreme as the best remote ever. We love how long it can go on a full charge but more importantly, we like how we can scrub the video with that remote. KEYCODE_VIDEO_APP_# (1-8) How do I record the video app keys for a firestick (keycodes 289-296)?

My remote interface remote buttons can not be "held down" to create a long press. For example, I was hoping to be able to use one ir signal for the skip forward and a different IR signal for the long press to get fast forward thereby splitting the skip forward and fastforward in to two different buttons. However, Flirc will not let you store a different IR command for the long press than what is stored for the short press. Is this something that could be fixed?

I am using Flirc with a rack mounted 4k Firestick via my commandfusion remote. I am using the full keyboard configuration and need to duplicate buttons from the remote. What keyboard keys map to the firestick remote? arrows (firestick outer ring) enter (firestick select button) escape (firstick back) ??? (Home) ??? (Menu) spacebar (firstick play/pause) left arrow / right arrow ( is there additional keyboard buttons that do the fast forward, rewind, skip forwards, skip back functions?) How about the special keys (netflix, prime etc) Do those map to the keyboard?

I ordered and received 2 of these devices. First one works on the fire stick no issues at all. Second one does not work at all. Here is what I have tried. OTG Cable connected to Flirc -> Flirc conntected to Fire stick. USB Keyboard connected to OTG cable and power. (this is to verify kepresses). Does not work. OTG Cable connected to Fire stick with the Flirc on the power side the USB keyboard works as expected. I have multiple Flirc USB devices and am generally very happy with their ease of use/reliability. However, I use libreelec and have two machines installed the same way but on different N100 based systems. I have multiple flirc USB devices, all seemingly programmed the same. If I use them on any one of five different machines, they all work. I can unplug one and interchange with another on each system and they all work. However, I have a trigkey n100 system and they just don't work at all. The USB interfaces work fine for keyboards, mice, USB drives, etc... I have a Skip 1 Remote and recently purchased a Flirc USB so I could control my Chromecast/Google TV (bypassing the BT remote the Chromecast comes with is my goal, I want to control Chromecast with my Skip 1). How do I make a macro? I can see in the online manual it says to type code into command line utility. Where do I find this utility? Also, in advanced settings there is a check box for 'macro'. What does that do? Thanks

I'm looking to pair a replacement FireTV remote with Windows 8, and use it as a controller for Plex Home Theater. I was able to get it paired, but only the dpad and {enter} buttons work. Would flirc be the solution for this? I attempted to use Autohotkey, but the other buttons on the remote don't seem to produce any input at all.. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, new to flirc, I've looked at the flirc_util command and saw that there's a script command which says run a command script. I've looked in the documentation for the cli (which seems to be a bit lacking) but there's no detail on how this works or examples on how to use this. Can anyone who has some experience with this command explain what it does and how to use it? My assumption is that you can pass a file of inputs you want to record and it will do that for you? But maybe my assumption is wrong, any help is appreciated, thank you.

Not sure if this is even doable, but I thought I'd ask... Rather than presenting itself to the OS as a keyboard, what if FLIRC presented itself as a generic serial device, and just passed the IR signals on to the OS? In the past, I've done exactly this with this device: USB-UIRT. Under Linux, the USB-UIRT shows up as a serial device (typically /dev/ttyUSB0). It's a "dumb" device in that it just passes the IR signals to the OS, so it's the OS's job to do something useful with them. Under Linux, you do this with LIRC. In my mind, for the FLIRC, I envision this as an "unsupported warranty-voiding community-support only advanced mode". You'd have to use the CLI too…
