  1. Started by TimTim,

I have been using my Flirc for a month or so and it has worked brilliantly, except... My problem is double key presses. My configuration won't help any as I am using a Skippa remote to control an IceBox. What's a Skippa and an Icebox, I hear you say? The Skippa is a PVR (now dead) that is unique to an Australian company called IceTV that provides a unique EPG service that allows you to set recordings on the PVR from anywhere with cellular service. The IceBox is a later version that is based on a NUC running LIBREelec and Kodi software as well as an IceTV plugin that allows the IceBox to communicate with the IceTV service. The IceBox came with an RF remote…

Hi, Was looking to purchase a Flirc USB to use with a Harmony Hub, and wanted to check that should be ok? I've seen mention of Harmony remotes, but not he Harmony Hub. I'm looking to be able to control a HTPC running Windows 10, Kodi, and MPC-BE. Assuming I may need to use the full keyboard option to be able to control both Kodi and MPC-BE? Cheers

  4. Started by Escargot,

Hi. Hopefully someone can help me here. Just bought a Flirc 2.0 usb for a kodi pc to watch local network content. I'm on firmware 4.9.8 and software 3.27.4. The harmony remote appears to communicate with the Flirc (see attached log) but nothing happens in kodi. I'm on win 11. Sometimes there is an error message "Firmware upgrade required". Why? In windows device manager, under other devices, there is "generic attribute profile" and "harmony" as unrecognised devices. Before receiving the usb I had set up a microsoft wmc in the harmony software. This appears to have worked with kodi but I unfortunately deleted it as a device in order to create a "Flirc K…

  5. Started by bw32,

I am having to take over a project from another developer. Not much documented and not documented very well. I think I have an older copy of the library. Is there a way to check the .lib version on Windows? I think we are having problems with RC5 encoding and playback. How do others record and properly playback those IrDA encodings that change or have a data dependency? I have the FLIRC USB 2.0 FW v4.9.4. I saw on another post that protocol decoding was being worked on. Has that been released? Is that available? It also seems to support the PRONTO hex formats. I have some codes I need to use that I have in PRONTO formats. What version did that become available in and…

Hey, My current setup uses config files made using the 4.6.5 version. I accidentally upgraded one USB to 4.9.3 (clicked too fast without reading) and now my configs no longer work on this one. So I'm in need of a 4.6.5 firmware version bin file so that I can downgrade the affected Flirc USB. Thanks in advance.

  8. Windows 11, seems that this version is required otherwise mostly get failures on flirc_util --sendir --pattern=...... when using 3.26.0 Updated the software, but found on capture that format has changed (maybe for the better) but where I used to get: 0,8954,4446,581,508,575,1647,578,512,571,1652,573,516,577,1646,579,1644,570,1652,573,1649,575,1647,578,1645,579,510,573,517,577,513,580,1642,573,1650,574,1648,606,1617,579,511,572,518,576,514,579,511,572,517,577,513,580,510,573,517,576,1647,578,1645,580,1642,572,1651,574,1659,566,1646,579 which I could cut and paste into flirc_util --sendir --pattern=0,8954,4446,581,508,575,1647,578,512,571,1652,573,516,577,16…

  9. Started by Guillemdc,

I got last week a Flirc USB. In one PC it seems to work (I was able to map some of my old trusty PS2 dvd remote). I had trouble mapping the play and pause keys, but mostly it seemed to work. I'm gonna use it with Kodi, so I really don't need all the buttons mapped anyway. However, i unplugged it from my personal PC and put it in my living room one, where I have Kody installed and I watch stuff. In that PC, I open Flirc GUI and it detects the dongle. I seem to be able to map keys (I click with the mouse in the one I want, it waits for me to press the button in the remote and, once I do, the key stops blinking). The thing is that once mapped, they don't work. None of t…

  10. I have a batch script that utilizes flirc_util.exe to send IR commands with Flirc USB. After upgrading Flirc (by replacing Flirc.exe & flirc_util.exe in the install dir) from 3.26.5 to 3.26.8 (because I need support for Pronto IR codes), I am having the following issue. If flirc_util.exe command is inside a for /f loop, for example: for /f "delims=" %%a in ('""C:\Program Files (x86^)\Flirc\flirc_util.exe" sendir --pronto="0000 006d 0022 0002 0156 00ab 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 …

  11. I have a few second latency on the Flirc USB where it does not recognize any commands for about 2 seconds. My setup is a Skip 1s and Flirc USB in my Nvidia Shield. I programmed the Flirc USB to be the Nvidia Gen 2 controller. All buttons were programmed (for some reason the Menu button, its three horizontal lines, just programs itself without an input which is weird) and they work on the unit. After maybe 6 seconds or so the Flirc stops taking commands and essentially feels like its freezing. I typically just test this by quickly pressing left and right but it also occurs if i press it slowly too Here are the things I have troubleshooted: 1. I have update t…

  12. Hi, am I right that the built-in Kodi controller layout has no key for OSD? (I can always use the full keyboard as a start basis for Flirc, I know that - just wondering if I'm missing anything for the built-in Kodi controller layout.) Thanks!

  13. Just updated my Flirc app while playing around with my Skip. Getting an error message saying that 3.27.3 is incompatible with the Firmware of the Flirc 2 USB. Flirc app runs, but very slowly and hangs constantly. Never gets 'Connected' in the bottom right corner. Anywhere I can download an older version of the software? (Sidenote: Any way to bind buttons on the Skip as if you were doing Full-Keyboard Layout with the Flirc? Want E for episode guide and Page Up/Page Down. Not expecting an answer to this here just figured I'd toss it out there.) Edit: Managed to find 3.26.4 lying around in an old installers folder. Flirc doesn't appear to connect up with that …

Windows11 MiniPC with Kodi, Flirc USB, minimalist remote control, OpenVPN to "take along". Flirc works. The problem is establishing the WIFI connection in changing environments. I can create a script with calling available wifi's and windows virtual keyboard: %windir%\explorer.exe ms-availablenetworks: %windir%\system32\osk.exe Now the idea would be to use the arrow keys to select the charcters for the WIFI password. Unfortunately, the virtual keyboard cannot be operated with the remote control. Does anyone have a solution or idea for solving this problem, maybe an alternate virtual keyboard for windows? (without connect mouse/keyboard or "big" remote c…

  15. Hello, I have just started to use a FLIRC USB v2, and just installed the latest Flirc software on a PC with Windows 11. All is fine excepting that I am unable to save my configuration. I did the following: 1. "File" menu on the GUI 2. "Save Configuration" 3. "Save" After that, nothing special appears (no error messages), the windows opened to save the config file is closed as soon as I click on "Save" and that's all. The .fcfg file just seems to not have been created (I tried for example to save it on the desktop or in the "My Documents" folder and just nothing, no .fcfg file). I searched on my whole hard drive (with *.fcfg) wi…

  18. Hello, I'm trying to replicate my AC remote using Flirc. I did it a few months ago, but I can't seem to get it back. 19. Started by amrothery,

The Flirc app seems to be recording and programming the receiver properly, but when I plug it into my Fire Stick and try to use the remote, nothing happens. The Fire Stick is a 2nd gen model. The remotes I've tried are the Skip (which I love for Kodi and broadcasting) and a random universal from GE I had lying around. I'm using the Linux version of the app. Windows is available to me if that's what I need to use to get it working.

  20. I just received my Flirc Gen 2, and so far it's been a breeze to set up. I'm using the full keyboard option to control the audio output of a Raspberry Pi, using alsamixer commands... "Q"= left channel+, "Z"= left channel-, "E"= right channel+, "C" right channel-, "B"= balance equal, "W"= volume+, and "X"= volume-. But I also want to map the mute button... that requires an actual command: "amixer -D hw:CARD=audioinjector set 'Output Mixer Line Bypass' toggle". Is this possible?

  21. Started by Ignasz,

I've just re-installed my mediacenter PC with Windows 11. Everything is fine, only the device list shows a Flirc device for which no drivers have been installed. Installing the software manually I get the warning that no device is connected (Flirc GUI) I am using the Streacom - Flirc version (installed in my Streacom case) Any help?

  22. Currently trying to record button mapping with the FLIRC USB and for some reason it's only recognizing when I press the power button. I've used two different ROKUs and two different Samsung Smart TV remotes on two different computers with the same result. I've even returned one USB for another as it had the same issue, so I don't think its a fault with the unit itself unless I have REALLY bad luck. Scratching my head on this one so any help would be appreciated.

  23. Hello all, So I am a complete newbie. I have this IR controller: https://wiki.odroid.com/accessory/connectivity/ir_remote_controller How can I make it work with FLIRC ? I am using windows 10. I understand the different controller presets in the GUI, but my controller is not reacting to any of them. I press GO on the app, then I press a key on the remote but the remote is not detected. Can you help me troubleshoot? Thanks!

  25. I was using Flirc2 with a ONE FOR ALL universal (programmable) remote control on my Raspberry Pi2B using Kodi media center. It was long years ago set I setup the remote control to work together with Flirc. But I forgot how I did it. The remote needs a 4 digit key. I can not find Flirc in the device list of the ONE FOR ALL website. Does anyone has an idea which code I do need?
