I have some scripts using flirc_util that used to work, but after reinstalling and recreating things, now I can't figure out why sometimes I get a segmentation fault. One script that has a short pattern works with no segmentation fault. Is there some way that flirc_util needs more memory, shorter patterns, something else? I have bolded the original patttern at +565 -1659 and comparing the output from the program everything is the same in the output until the +565, then a -9046 shows up instead of the -1649. can you control your tv with the flirc software?

Hi, I purchased Flirc USB, I have a Sony RM-V302 remote control and try to map all keys. Most of the keys are mapped ok however there are 3 keys could not be detected by flirc i.e. PIP, RECALL and GUIDE key. IR debug does not show any event when these 3 keys are pressed. Any advice?

I need to check the key mappings in a few different fcfg files. It seems that the flirc-util application is capable of listing the key mappings from an attached FLIRC USB, but the USB is attached to another system, from which I don't want to remove it, save its configuration, load each of the fcfg files in turn to dump the mappings, restore the original configuration and then return the USB to the system which uses it. How can I extract the key mapping in human readable form from the fcfg files?

Is there any way to do the equivalent of flirc_settings record_lp using the record_api command? If it's not possible today, is it technically possible within the hardware, just not exposed to flirc_settings?

I have been messing around with the IR transmit capability of my flirc. I am able to send IR signals using the flirc_util app, but it takes around 800ms to send a single command. I suspect it's because flirc_util opens the device, sends the signal, and then closes the device. If I try with the repeat set higher, it doesn't significantly affect the timing. It looks like the SDK provides static library (libflirc.a). I'm programming in python on a raspberry pi 3, which doesn't work with static libraries. Is it possible to get direct access to the flirc to open the device and send signals? Or possibly get a dynamic library? Thanks, Ben

Inside a Flirc USB the IR transmitter and the IR receiver are physically very close to one another so the receiver picks up the transmitter's IR signal. Therefore, if a certain IR signal/pattern is paired with a keyboard key, the flirc_util.exe sendir --pronto/raw=<IR signal/pattern> command will also trigger the paired keyboard key, which is not always desired. Is there maybe a command line switch (or would it be possible to implement one) that would disable the Flirc's IR receiver (or ignore its input) while the sendir command is transmitting the IR signal (e.g. flirc_util.exe sendir --ignore)?

I read that Flirc can act as an emitter, and sendir is the way to do it. However, I've found that using sendir causes Flirc to execute on the PC whatever command is bound to the sent code. That's cool, but it's not what I want. I just want it to send the IR code, basically to "forward" it. Also, when I turned on IR debugging, pressing a single key on my remote caused several lines of output, and passing any one of them to sendir works to execute the command on my PC, e.g. "Enter", "Right arrow", etc. For example, this is the output for pressing the Enter key on my remote: +2458 -507 +1261 -508 +658 -503 +1261 -503 +1261 -508 +1257 -507 +1257 -508 +662 -503 +658 …

Dear All, I bought a flirc usb stick back in 2015, the one of transparent plastic. A couple of years ago, I used it to for a WD remote control that I´ve used with KODI on Rpi ever since. However, the buttons on this are becoming more and more irresponsive, so I decided to find another unused remote and configure it the way I did with the old one. I then installed the flirc software on my wifes laptop, that´s just about 2 years old. This did not install the driver, so I found this zodaq or whatever it´s called and got them installed that way, checking that the device was showing in device manager. First of all, let me say that I am a huge fan of your products. I already owned the first flirc case and currently have two Pi 3 cases, two Pi 4 cases, a Pi zero case and several of your IR receivers around the house. In terms of design and cooling, there is nothing better on the market. Unfortunately, a few days ago I noticed that the soft touch finish on the top and base of one of the Pi 3 cases has turned into a sticky mess. If you touch the case, you literally stick to it. Bought the flirc to use with an androidtv box. The box doesn't have IR. It has a remote that works on IP. The TV Box is an SEI800Y. Not listed with flirc. I have no clue how to set it up. None the instructions I've found on the NET are very useful. Isn't there some generic programming I can load onto it that should more or less work? And if there is, how do I load it?

I have set up the new Flirc and selected the Kodi profile. How do I configure commands like alt+o and playerprocessino. watching a video on Kodi I like to bring up the video debug info. How do I assign keyboard keys?

I want to use the same remote for my TV and only when I switch to my PC HDMI port to press a specific key to wake up my pc and use all other bound keys. So basically flirc disabled until I press a special key and after that all active until I press the key again to disable it. Is that possible?

I'm looking to automate a non-standard controller and I'm new to the libir decoder format. I've been trying to replay the recording below using sendir for automation and tried using the decoder to get it into a format it can play back. Hoping that this is OK to ask here. I've been researching a problem that we've been having, and some other websites have pointed me here as a potential option. Here's my setup: Two LG UR9000, one LG C4 - all one one wall together. The dream was for me and my two sons to be able to play minecraft (via xboxes) or other games (via playstations/nintendos) together on the TVs. I also have an Nvidia Shield Pro connected to each - in the event that I'd like to game and watch two things on the other TVs. Hello, I've juste received Flirc Gen2 today. I've programmed it using Flirc on Windows 10 Pro. When I've started the App, I've been asked to update the firmware : I did it. I use Flirc on MiBox S Android TV. My first try worked well. I wanted to correct some pairing keys and added new ones... I did but then Flirc did not work anymore with MiBox S... I cleaned the configuration (File-> Clear Configuration), programmed again the Flirc, but it's still not working. Before I go down the road of buying a Flirc USB, wanted to make sure it would work with my things the way I want. I'd assume that Flirc will work with the PS5 since it works with the PS4. I am using a Sofabaton X1S remote. Via Bluetooth it cannot turn on (or wakeup) the PS5 (Sony's fault), so I was wondering if this would be possible with the Flirc USB and my X1S remote?

I have the flirc and looking to see if this will work on mac 10.4 ? I know it is an older mac but need this to work . Is there anything I can do ? I see the software download on the site is for mac 10.10 ?
