HI All - I just got my Flirc yesterday and am having a bit of trouble. Setup: Apple TV is connected through HDMI to Dell Monitor with audio out connected to PC Speakers (all working). Using Windows 10 x64. Goal: The only piece missing is using Flirc to control PC volume via AppleTV Remote. Problem: Apple TV Remote can "learn volume control" but needs another remote already set up to copy the remote instructions as you push volume control buttons through I/R. I have the Flirc software installed and know where the media keys programming setup is, but i'm not sure what the Flirc USB is teaching since no remote is connected to PC. Can Flirc teach this…

i decided to make the switch from the shieldtv pro remote to the one for all remote because everyone knows the shieldtv pro remote is trash. but i am running into some road blocks now when trying to program it with the flirc. i'm programming it on a windows pc and selecting the shield gen 2 configuration but every time i go to program the home button (on shieldtv pro remote is the circle button) it gives me an error telling me that the button already exists. even when i clear the configurations and start over. i read that i can use the fire tv configuration to program the home button and that works but when i go back to shield gen 2 to program the rest it tells me that th…

NEW flirc purchsed USB, windows on my new laptop wont recognize it

My first post was 2 months ago, zero replies. Going to try again for a different issue. The FLIRC app on the Raspberry Pi 4B lags badly, it takes more than 7 seconds for actions to execute in the GUI. For the brief moments were you are able to interact normally it works fine.

Can anyone confirm if the 2 remotes pictured below work with flirc? I think they are called TiVo Roamio, Mini Bolt remote, Tivo Vox remote, or something like that? Right now I've got an old tivo peanut remote and every single button works great with flirc, including the Tivo button. I'm currently using Red Thumb as Back, and Green Thumb as Info, and the Tivo button as a Home button. But it would be nice to have a Tivo remote with an actual Back and Info button, the colored A,B,C,D buttons. On the TIVO Vox remote, does the blue microphone button, the green SKIP and Netflix buttons work? Thank you Tivo Vox remote

I have both the Flirc v1 and v2. The v1 has no problem replicating key repeat when holding down a key on the remote. (One of the generic remotes used for DVRs by Verizon, Frontier, etc.) I can't get the v2 to do key repeat. I tried programming long press as the same key, but no matter what, I get one and only one keypress. Is there something I should be changing to get key repeat working? I'm familiar with the command line tool if that makes a difference. I'd like to have both long press and repeat available, but at this point I would gladly switch to a firmware that abandoned long-press for functional key repeat.

Hi there, I'm using Flirc v2 on my Pi4 running Kodi. Pi4 is connected through HDMI to my tv and I'm using my tv remote to control Kodi. It works pretty good, except these double key presses even though I know I only pressed once. I understand there was an Interkey Delay setting earling, but it was removed...? Anyway, here's my main question: If Kodi is running but I'm watching tv, and then changing channels on my tv, Kodi is activated and the tv is automatically switching source to HDMI. I understand using tv remote is not recommended, but is there a solution to this behaviour or do I need to close down Kodi when not in use?

Have you consider providing an editor for the configuration files? Or add the functionality to Flirc GUI? It helps to understand what's going on while troubleshooting Flirc2 issues. And it would allow users to clean configuration files themselves.

Hi - I have a Flirc connected to a USB port on my 2017 Nvidia Shield TV. I have seen a somewhat random issue over the last year where - for some unknown reason - most of my button presses on my remote just don't seem to get recognized by the Shield for a period of time. When the problem is occurring, maybe 1 out of 5 button presses gets recognized. Otherwise, nothing. The issue can clear up on its own the next day I use my Shield, but sometimes it doesn't clear away easily. The IR signal to the Flick is through an IR repeater, and all other IR transmitters connected to that repeater work fine. I even swapped IR repeater transmitters with other working devices…

The dongle is outputting extra characters that are visible on whatever window that's open and accepts input (Lxterminal, Mousepad). Sometimes they appear on button press, other times on button release depending on how quickly you do it. ^[[15;5~ Is there a way to prevent Lxterminal from receiving input since it is not an interactive shell? But more importantly, why can't FLIRC only output the intended characters (Ctrl+F1) and nothing more? Using the latest firmware.

Hey guys. Back in 2016 I purchased a FLIRC FL-09028 which I'm guessing is Gen 1. I see that long press is available for Gen 2 according to the docs. Can Gen 1 also be programmed for long press or is that limited to Gen 2 only? I am wanting to use long press with my Fire TV stick device.

How do I record a macro or a key to double press CTRL, example: CTRL --> CTRL --> 1 CTRL --> CTRL -- 2 etc... I am trying to program the remote to double press CTRL then the corresponding number to control my KM switch.

Hello, I've been using a Flirc to control my Kodi/RPi setup for about 3 years. It works great. Once I set it up, I've not had any difficulties at all. I used v3.20.4 of the GUI to set it up. I now have a second Kodi/RPi setup and I want to set up another Flirc dongle with exactly the same configuration. To do so, I plan to buy a new Flirc from the store here. When I receive it, I will start the Flirc 3.20.4, plug in the new dongle, and load the saved working configuration from the old dongle. Is that going to work? I ask because I'm running an old version of the GUI and I'm also likely running an old version of the dongle itself. If I need to upgrade…

I just purchased a couple more Flirc V2 dongles to use. I would like each device to have the same settings. How can I clone copy the config from Dongle A to Dongle C if I no longer have the original save file? I have everything mapped and can't figure out how to 'read' the config from what will be the Master device. I have already upgraded all the firmware so everything is on the same version.

When i start the software i select under "controllers" the "full keyboard". My remote control is a harmony 650, but for the problem this doesn't matter. Now i click a key, for example the cursor up key. The software says "Press the button to be paired with 'up' ". So i have a pdp ps4 media remote i want to use on my pc with kodi but after plugging in the flirc and starting the app it doesn't recognize any buttons at all. i know the remote works because i can use the normal ps buttons (x/o/square/triangle/ect) just fine, but i couldn't use the media and ir stuff so that's why i got the flirc.

Fn + F12 = Pause/Play on my keyboard. Is there a way Flirc can bind a keystroke to Fn+F12 so I can use the function?
