I bought a flirc only a few days ago, and I've been having issues with suspend. Sometimes, when I bring the laptop out of suspend, the flirc will appear as "bootldr" in the device manager. In these cases I wasn't able to wake the laptop with the ir remote, so it looks as though something is going wrong with the flirc while the laptop is asleep. When this happens, opening the flirc program usually fixes things - it says "detected bootloader", a progress bar appears and once it's done the flirc pops back into the device manager. I have had a few situations where it didn't recover properly (it claimed that firmware v16.-16 was installed!), but forcing a firmware update fix…

Just received my flirc with 1.0 firmware and installed with the .97 software, I'm experiencing issues with XBMC (Pre-Eden), after programming my Harmony Remote (Device: MCE Keyboard). I need to press every key twice before it will register with XBMC. Any advice? Running Windows 7 x64

Hi, after upgrading to firmware 3.5, I cannot get long key presses to work. I tried 3 different remotes. All of them used to work with flirc just fine. Process: Format flirc, learn a key, say 'x'. Open a text editor, press and hold the button on the remote. Expected behavior: One 'x' should appear immediately in the text editor. Then many 'x' should appear due to key repeat as long as I hold the button on the remote. Observed behavior: Most of the times, a single 'x' appears immediately and then nothing else happens (all while holding the button on the remote). Sometimes, 10-20 'x' appear and then the repeating stops. Very rarely the key gets stuc…

Several keys in the logitech profile either sends wrong values or is translated incorrectly by flirc ParentFolder sends a space character which while the video is being watched in standard xbmc is also the Pause button. BigStepBack sends nothing and does nothing for xbmc as it expects the ket "]" keystoke. ToggleFullScreen sends a forward slash "/" instead of a backslash "\"

Hello, i bought this small stick before few weeks and its really not bad. Good work and very easy to setup. I run the stick on an Kodi 14 MediaCenter with an wireless keyboard from Rapoo. When i press some keys on the harmony such as "Radio Channels" Play, Stop or Louder/Noiser, the complete communication from harmony and keyboard are broken. Only the mouse pad on keyboard runs. Always the same keys. On Harmony i programmed the MCE Keyboard and also the remote. Both with the same error. When i remove both sticks, the FLIRC Stick and also Keyboard Stick and connect it again, no success. Only On reboot the complete system. LG

First off, I think Flirc is great. It saves me from having to use the mac mini remote. However there are two problems (one I'll discuss here, the other is for another post). I'm using firmware 2.3 (came with it). Everything programs up well. The only problem is when my Mac Mini (OSX 10.6.8) sleeps, it wakes up about 2 mins later. Flirc wakes it up. It's plugged directly into the USB port on the back of the Mac Mini (no hub, though I've tried that and the result is still the same). Leaving Flirc unplugged results in normal sleep behavior. But of course, then I can't use it. This (like 1.0). But I'm not running that firmware. I've tried clearing my configuration, …

Hi, I have been using Flirc for last half a year and I love it - great piece of tech. I am using it control XBMC with the Harmony remote, XBMC being installed on Ouya. Few weeks ago Flirc unfortunately stopped working. Harmony profile is setup as it was, no other changes were made, I can control everything, just not my XBMC. I upgraded firmware to 3.0b9, Windows software to 1.2.7, no changes. Windows recognizes Flirc, I can upgrade firmware, but after instering into the Ouya remote is not working. Any ideas what might have happened and how should I fix it? Appreciate any help :)

I tried it on my laptop (win7 32bit) and my PC(win7 64bit) it works perfectly on both when my phone is in the drawer. once I bring my phone out(even after the configuration) the remote won't work properly. If there is line of sight between the flirc and my phone, the remote won't work at all. if not it might work but I need to press like 3-4 times each button. and when I put my phone back in the drawer the remote works perfectly again. I'm using the latest stable firmware (3.3) This is kinda funny and took me few hours to realize that this is the problem...

Let me start off by saying this product is great. I am having only one issue which seems very odd to me. I am running PLEX on a HTPC and for whatever reason when I am in the media menu the enter button seems to select the item then go back immediately. When I'm in the main menu with the power and preferences options it works perfectly though. Using the keyboard it doesn't have any issues, only my remote does. I've tried changing the inter key delay which helped with scrolling, but nothing else seems to correct this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Since I got this device, I haven't had a single issue until last week. Suddenly, a single button press would repeat hundreds of times till I unplugged the FLIRC. I assumed this was some sort of bug or fault with my Harmony remote despite me neither changing the FLIRC or Remote since the beginning of the year. Either way. I did a resync of the harmony remote.. The problem persisted. Then I thought it was an Openlec bug... So I moved the flirc to other boxes.. same problem persisted Then I plugged into a PC.. Forced upgraded the firmware from something like 2.x to 3.0 and then to 3.1. It worked temporarily and then stopped again. I came on the forums and saw other…

Hello, I have the same "Keys stuck" problem that many others seem to have recently. As in this thread: I'm using openelec on an x86 computer and I'm using a Samsung TV remote to control it. I am a firmware programmer with experience in USB HID devices and I've studied this problem with my USB analyzer. I believe I understand the problem. First a bit of background: The Flirc firmware enumerates as a USB HID keyboard which sends keypresses. It also detects IR signals from remotes. IR remotes use codes that repeat when a button is held down, so filtering is necessary to prevent unwanted repetition of a keypress. Keyboards also have key repeat rates, b…

Hi there, I have used flirc for quite a year or so in my ubuntu box (+XBMC+Harmony 900 remote), and never had problems with it. Recently, I decided to install Win7 instead, and managed to get everything working - except for the sleeping part. What is strange is that I manage to get the machine to sleep and wake with my remote without any issues as long as I wake it up within a few seconds/minutes. If I leave it to sleep for say 30 min+, then I am not able to wake the machine up. I have to manually switch it on to wake my machine, and then I find that flirc is not receiving any commands (which is why it wasn't waking it!). To get it to work again, I just need to o…

Flirc was pretty reliable, but after installing firmware 3.1 I cannot get it to work anymore. I have tried force installing firmware, but when I program buttons they do not work. Usually I have to erase a button on my remote control and try about 10 times per button because it says it exists or it has already been erased, or other things that are wrong. Even after I get all buttons to be programmed successfully, none of them actually work. I have about 30 Flircs that I have tried to no avail. Is there any known issues with using Flirc with OSX right now? Using Full Keyboard with a Cable TV remote. Thanks.

Hello, I've been a Flirc user for several years and was thrilled to find the update for XBMC recently. I updated to the latest GUI/Firmware 3 days ago. I'm finding that every time I press a button mapped to an Alt+ or Ctrl+ or Win+ combination, Windows responds as if it were several key presses (more than 3). SO my Alt+F4 closes a program...and the computer gets shut down too, Alt+Tab FLIES through several open tasks and is like a roulette wheel on what I'll land on. Ctrl+ and Ctrl+Shift+ combinations do the same thing, so in Media Center, FF/REW go full throttle from the start, Record is impossible as well. I'm pretty sure the Win+ button combinations do the same…

Hi. I recently received a flirc and after installing decided I should upgrade the firmware from v1.0 to that suggested by the flirc application (v2.4 if memory serves). The operating system I used is Windows 8.1 x64 and I used a usb3 port (I have no usb2 ports on the machine). After clicking upgrade the application immediately crashed and under device manager is now only listed as bootldr with a yellow exclamation mark indicating the drivers for this device are not installed. Each attempt to run the application after this resulted in an immediate crash. After waiting 10 minutes or so (just in case!) I unplugged the flirc and plugged it into my Windows 7 x64 machin…

Flirc has a profile for firetv, I configured the return key, but when I use this in XBMC it responds differently then the return key on the official remote. When playing a movie on xbmc and press return using the official remote, the movie closes. When playing a movie on xbmc and press return using the flirc remote, the movie keeps playing, but the xbmc launcher comes to the front. It's a minor bug, but I just wanted to let you know that configuring flirc with the firetv profile isn't a 1/1 copy of the official remote.

I've read all the stuck key threads I could find, none of the suggestions have worked for me - I really want to use flirc but it's not working for me. Using my Panasonic TV remote. I've tried all of the inter-key delays, only have wake option enabled. Each time I change the inter-key delays I delete the keys and unplug the flirc. Everything up till 3 is too touchy, below 3 is not as touchy but when scrolling through a list it will hang on some presses/move up to 3 clicks with other presses

I'm using Openelec on a Raspberry Pi B+ and recently bought a Logitech Harmony to control it. I'm trusting the embedded profile, and it seems to work very well. After a while though the volume down key or command (and ONLY this one, so far) stops working. Unplugging and replugging the FLIRC doesn't help, only a complete reboot of the RPi will let it work again. It's not a tremendous hassle but it's somehow distressing. Anyone got any clue on this? Is it a firmware bug?

I was running version .96 or so for the longest time, and recently started having issues with repeated key presses (fast scrolling through menus etc.) I updated to the most recent version of flirc so I could mess with inter-key delay, and now can not get keys to program for nothing! I can clear config it still gives me a warning that key is already programmed. I can erase that key, and it all seems ok, but no matter what all the keys I program after that are programmed to that first key press. So if I try to program up arrow to 1, it might give me a warning so I have to erase it even if I cleared config, than program it to 1, it works fine, than any button I program a…
