I map one remote button ("Up") to the Up key. Then I try to map the Down button to the Down key. I receive the "Button already exists" error. To confirm, I just press any of the directional keys and the "Up" key on the Flirc GUI lights up. flirc_util version v2.3.0 [v2.3.0+] Firmware: v4.0.10 [0xEEC0BEC4] Remote profiles I've tried Samsung TV remoteDenon AVR remoteHarmony 650 remote, Panasonic TV profile (as suggested by a Flirc support page)Harmony 650 remote, Plex Plex Player profilemany other remote profiles on Harmony 650 I'm exhausted, I've tried so many profiles that I think I'm going to just give up on Flirc :( For the record, this is the output of flirc_util.exe s…

For a while it seems the USB port powers down on a win10 PC. In the device manager all devices and hubs are set not to power down the USB ports. Also in power management the USB power saving is disabled. Still after a long period the only way to get the flirc to respond is to toggle the USB port (eg with a mouse), flirc then becomes active and works. Any tips?

Hi! It seems impossible to bind the "+" and "-" (plus and minus) keys. The easiest way to explain what happens, would be asking you, try it yourself. Don't think its remote related. But in any case, I have a Harmony 350 and these are the steps. Press "+" on Flirc / Press "Ch+" on Remote = nothing! Press "-" on Flirc / Press "Ch-" on Remote = binds too "+" ??? Also, the Flirc/Kodi Harmony profile has incorrect binds for (Zoom-) and (Zoom+) Should be "-" (Zoom-) and "+" (Zoom+) So please have a look at this as well, thnx.

Update: 2/4/17 On win10, and macOS Sierra 10.12.3, Everything works just great on both metal Flirc and SE. test update edited2: Problems are solved with WIN10 ALL FUNCTIONS ARE WORKING AS INTENTED with the latest firmware update. Just Uninstalled and re-download it, once connected the update message showed up. On my macbook pro, Only thing doesn't work is sleep and wake. On my hackintosh build(sorry I don't really own a mac pro/mini/iMac), everything functions as intended. Only thing flaky is when I register sleep, the prompt would show up with minor delay, and "Shutdown" actually functions as "Sleep". It'd Very Likely due to my own system setup and has nothing to do…

My FLIRC is getting disconnected (as in, the GUI has a sad face and says "disconnected") after I resume my HTPC from sleep mode. Rebooting is fine - it's only when I put the machine to sleep and then resume that I experience this issue. Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H170-HD3 - I've been through all the BIOS settings and tried to make sure all USB and wake from USB etc settings are turned on. Related to this is that I cannot get the machine to resume using the remote - but that's kind of expected I guess if the FLIRC is getting disconnected in sleep mode. I've set my Harmony remote to use a a Panasonic TV remote which I have mapped to the full keyboard in FLIRC. Interesting…

Hello, First thank you for your amazing device, it's really useful, i just get 2 new pieces :) This bug : is about a missing key, i need to use the F23 keyboard key but it's not available on the firmware, i tried v3, and v3.8 Sony Playstation 3 : Here is the keyboard command to simulate the PS Home button for the PS3 : "CTRL + Win + F23" (F23 alone may work) Sony Playstation 4 : For the PS4 there is no problem because the PS button could be simulated by the "pause" button. Infos : The "F23" keyboard key = 72(HEX) HID = 114(Decimal) HID = 134 Key code Theoretical Commands : Normally to setup/record this we should use the commands "flirc_utils record_api 9 114" or "flirc_ut…

I just purchased flirc off of amazon. I'm trying to set it up for the first time. I'm trying to use a comcast remote with my HTPC, but everytime I go to program more than one button, the program gives me "button already exists". I have tried 3 different comcast remotes, and each one does the same thing. I can set it up with my Panasonic TV remote, but i need the comcast one to work since it also controls my surround sound system. With the comcast remote, it seems to act as if every key press is the same button. Is there a fix for this? GUI version 1.2.6 firmware version 2.6 dark silver comcast remote This was also happening before I forced the firmware u…

Dead in the water, right out of the box. Need help ASAP. Details are: Target machine: Raspberry Pi running raspbmc. (the Pi was purchased together with with the flirc here) GUI machine: (1) x86_64 linux, (2) Windows 7 x32 (I've tried both). 1. Setup flirc in either GUI machine. No apparent issues; things look promising. 2. Unplug device, move it to target machine. HID keyboard device 0x20a0:0x0001 appears. 3. Moments later, suddenly, the device disconnects and reappears as bootloader 0x20a0:0x0002. No response to remote. 4. Retry setup in a GUI machine. A download occurs, and things look okay again. Return to step 2. 5. Lather, rinse, repeat, s…

Using Fedora 24 - I went to install the tool over the weekend, and went for the RPMs, I eventually noticed the RPM was quite out of date and grabbed the static packages and I went to remove the RPM I installed, only to find that the RPM was poorly constructed. Uninstalling this rpm can destroy your system. It at minimum deleted my entire /lib directory! I'm pretty sure the issue is how you've defined items in the %files section in the spec file for your source rpm. In there you've defined control over /lib, and when you go to uninstall this package, it will delete the entire /lib directory, obviously extremely destructive. Please remove this RPM from your downloads as it …

When using the FLIRC Full Keyboard, the control and alt keys do not match my keyboards control and alt keys. If I pull up the Full Keyboard, I can press any keys on my keyboard and they light up, except the control and alt keys. When I press CTRL or ALT on my computers keyboard, none of the keys light up on the FLIRC Full Keyboard. When I set keys as control and alt on the FLIRC, they do not perform the same way the CTRL and ALT keys do on my computers keyboard. Many of the applications that I want to use with FLIRC require these two keys and it is making it difficult to use the device without them. Is there a way to find out why the control and alt keys on the Full …

Every time I remove the flirc from the computer (or reboot) it shows up as bootldr v2.1 and uploads firmware 3.6. This requires reloading the configuration. Is there anyway to correct this?

Hey guys, I have been using this device for over two years now and I love it to death. I am so heavily dependent on it, that it is infuriating to not see it work like it use to. For the last two months, whenever I turn off my computer and then turn it on later on, Flirc simply doesn't work. So what I have to do is, open the Flirc software wait for it to upgrade, then load the configuration then again restart the computer and then only it works. These are a lot of steps that I have to go through which is very irritating. This was working so well, but I dont know what had happened, was there an upgrade to the software or something? Can someone please tell what steps that I …

Hi! Just bought a flirc device and programmed one key, (volume up on kenwood kca-r6a) to do a "left_alt D". First press of the button and a d appears on screen. Press button again and a 2nd d appears. Press for a 3rd time and a 3rd d appears. About 100ms later, a lot of d's and it does not stop. In other words, after pressing the same button 3 times it continually repeats the button. firmware is 3.8. Is this a known bug / issue? 2nd problem is with hotkeys that use more than one combination, see https://www.centrafuse.com/documentation/centrafuse/hotkeys. For volume up, I need "ALT-D4". Have I made a mistake and flirc can't actually perform this key combination (macro?…

When the PC is put to sleep, the flirc usb device is immediately waking back up my PC without anything being touched. I've tried turning sleep detection off, uninstalling the flirc software, reinstalling the driver, different usb slots...nothing. The only way it stops is if I unplug the usb device. I even tried disabling it in device manager, and even though it's disabled it's still waking the PC. I am at a loss as to what is causing this. I had a different flirc usb that I used months ago just fine but I gave it away and bought this one, and took a few months to finally hook it up. I hooked it up last night, and button presses were working fine but then I woke up this …

Setup: HTPC with FLIRC-SE, Harmony 900, Harmony One. Problem: Flirc becomes unresponsive at random times. Worked great for a year, but the last month its been unstable. Might work perfect for a few minutes, then goes "deaf" and ignores most commands. Spamming or holding buttons works, so the commands are correct. What I know so far: Its not the remotes, they work flawlessly with all other connected devicesLatest firmware and software Noise cancelling and harmony settings dont make a differenceNothing changed in my setup: Same devices, placement, lighting, etc. Covering the ir-receiver with a piece of cloth seems to solve it - noise of some sort?So my working theory is tha…

Hi, today, I had a strange behavior of the Flirc. After I changed the USB-port of the Flirc, it did not recognize any key presses from my remote. This did even commence, after I changed the port back. I thought, that the programming might have been erased somehow. So I started the administration program on Linux, which was a rather old version (v1.2.2). I tried to reprogram the Flirc with my saved configuration file, what did not work at all (no error messages, just no result). So I tried to reprogram the keys by hand. The control program said, that the signals where already programmed, so I tried to delete them and reprogram them. First I tried to delete them one by one,…

I received my Flirc a couple of days ago and programmed it on my Windows 7 64 bit PC to work with my Harmony Remote. The Programming worked fairly straight forward but I keep having a problem that basically prevents me from using Flirc at all: When the dongle is connected to the computer, it periodically keeps sends random key presses to the PC. I tried blaming the remote control and even removed the batteries to make sure the remote is not sending random signals. Using the Flirc Utilities from here () I can see that just having Flirc connected results in keys being pressed at random. Only those that are registered with the device are being pressed, though. To cl…

GUI 1.4.3 Firmware 3.7 Windows 10 I am teaching a button ( doesn't matter which one ) on XBOX One Remote ( the small black ) for Keyboarfd \. When testing that Button, the number 3 is pressed. EDIT: Keyboard layouts are the problem. On a german keyboard the # is located where the backslash is on a english one. And the # is on 3 on a english one. So it teaches the \, but presses the #.... I am just fiddling it out. I should not teach the buttons with the english letters on the GUI shown, I should go for the button location where the letter is on my keyboard location.

I am under Windows 8.1 x64. My Flirc had FW version 2.0 so I decided to upgrade. Now after upgrade if I run the software it crashes immediately. If I remove the USB dongle and run the flirc software it runs ok again. As soon as I connect the USB dongle, the software crashes immediately. So I read a little and checked device manager and I see flirc bootloader working so I guess the driver is installed correctly. I re-installed the software also and it still crashes when the USB dongle is connected. Please help.

I have two flircs, I've loaded the same fcfg file to both and both are controlling two different Chromeboxen running OpenElec 6.01, the flirc with 3.3 firmware works on both, another flirc with 3.7 firmware works on neither. I tried using a URC MX-870 and MX-780 and the results are the same with either remote. Is it possible to downgrade to firmware 3.3? If not, is there another alternative?

Hi, I just bought a FLIRC to control my Raspberry Pi 2 running Kodi. I'm setting up my universal remote ( a pretty simple philips universal remote) on Windows 10. I have FLIRC gui version 1.4.1. Every time I open up the GUI to pair my remote with FLIRC, i have problems. There are always buttons that will not pair with the right executions. I can "erase" a number of times and it won't help. Then I'll have buttons which will work well the first few times and then execute a different command. For examples, if I press left three times on my remote, the GUI will show that I have pressed left, right, left. This is driving me crazy. On top of that I've tried to leave an e…

This is starting to annoy the heck out of me. I literally have to fight with the Flirc interface to get buttons mapped. A lot of the time, buttons end up having the same Key ID somehow even when they are assigned to different functions in the Harmony Remote suite..and I have to spend hours doing random things to get Flirc to register it to another Key ID. Very annoying. I am using the Harmony One and would really appreciate if anyone can offer any help to me. Currently, I have the functions I want mapped, but I added three new buttons to the touch screen on the One and tried to set them up in Flirc. At first, everything was fine, I mapped some combo keypresses and tho…
