Hi guys, I'm having an issue with Flirc that I'm struggling to get my head around and would appreciate a little assistance with. On my HTPC I can record commands ok, however they don't do anything. Stranger still, if I try to erase a command, it tells me 'Button already erased' indicating the command hadn't been recorded after all. I have tested this with several remotes, always with the same result. The Flirc device itself is fine. I know this as I can attach it to my laptop and commands record and operate perfectly. Flirc prevents my DAC (Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt) from producing sound whey they are both connected to the same USB hub. The DAC can work with keyboards, other devices, or hubs full of devices, as long as they don't exceed power consumption. On Linux, either Flirc or DAC (the one connected later) has "Not enough bandwidth for new device state" and error -28.

Hello, When I press the > key four or so times to jump forward, the Gen2 device stops responding, and I have to unplug it and reseat it to get it working again. This behavior is unlike with the Gen1 version, where I could press the key as many times as needed. Tell me if you need me to post anything to help you resolve this. nne

Hi, i have Flirc USB for very long time and its works very well. But few days ago i did update to Flirc v3.22.4 & Firmware v4.6.3. After this update my Flirc doesn't works correctly. For example - i have teached arrows (arrow Up = Arrow Up). When i press Up button first time, its works. When i press Up button again, typically nothing works. Sometimes second button press = random arrow is simulated in PC. All buttons erased & re-recorded manytimes, but without success :( I'm running @ Windows7 64bit, remote: MS Xbox One Media remote. Hi Jason, I need formware version 4.6.3 as I upgraded all my FLIRC usb units in the house but the latest firmware does not like Plasma TVs! I only have one unit with 4.6.3 on and I want to downgrade the rest. I know this version works with my Plasma TV hence i want to move back to it. Thank you in advance. Wes

Hi, after some time I launched the Flirc app and it asked for an upgrade. I confirmed, it upgraded, later asked to upgrade fw also (v4+ I believe, but not sure) and died. Flirc seems to be dead since, I tried to unplug it many times, reinstall the app, a few commands, nothing. Flirc 3.25.3 says Connected [DFU] and (not responding), it just freezes after launch. I love the FLIRC, but it seems there is a problem with the OK command for Fire TV. The first gen cube boxes have no issues with that command, but something has changed on 2nd gen cube. The OK command doesn’t register correctly for selecting certain items. You can hear the tone that the box sees the command, but it doesn’t register. Have you seen this on your end?

I have a Flirc 2 on Windows 10 and am using the v.3.25.3 software. When I use the debug, I can see that button presses are registered, both long and short presses (I am only using short presses in normal operation, but wanted to test the long presses.) However, Plex doesn't seem to register the input everytime. It will register 3-5 presses and then stop responding. If I wait a few seconds, 5-6, Plex starts to responds again. The weird part is I have the same configuration on another machine with no issues. I swapped the Flirc and the problematic machine exhibits the same issue, while the working one, stays working???? Hey Jeson, as you seem to ignore me on hangouts I will have to post here and hope I get an answer this year. The issue is I'm prompted to upgrade firmware from v.3.11.0 > v.3.12.0 says upgraded fine but it never upgrades. Flirc still works as it should but I get prompted the above every time it launches.

I have tried a couple of times to upgrade firmware. It always says complete but then it never actually updates. Every time I open the app it says it needs to update firmware again. I'm hoping this will fix an issue with the power button mapping not working.

Hi all, I hope someone can help me. I purchased my Flirc 2nd gen (metal one) about a year ago to use with my shield tv and logitech harmony remote. Been running fine until recently, I decided to upgrade the firmware on the flirc but I cant. I updated the software on my PC (running latest version of Windows 10) to the latest Flirc but I get an invalid SKU remark and the device is disconnected in the Flirc app. I have attached a screenshot and a copy of the log as well. The Flirc device is working, Windows is detecting it and I can see it listed under devices. I tried it on different USB ports but it made no difference. Thanks. flirc_log.docx

Whenever I try and setup my FLIRC to learn from my Comcast Xfinity remote it always says "button already exists." I clear it, I clear it. Nothing works. It will not learn off this remote. Hi everyone, Happy New Year! I've just set up a new new Kodi install on Ubuntu 18.03 LTS. Used to be on Windows 7, worked fine. Since moving, and inadvertantly upgrading the firmware, I have encountered issues during playback of a video (movoe, TV show) and live TV. Initally I can use the remote (Harmony 650 with FLIRC dori) to pause, step forward, step backward, etc, but if I leave the video to play for a while, kodi no longer responds to the remote, or keyboard. I have replicated this on a laptop, where, oddly, it responds to the USB mouse ok but not the same remote and FLIRC or even the built-in keyboard. I did discover that by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del …

I am using Flirc USB on Ubuntu and I can program it and it works (using a single Harmony remote) and only controlling Kodi. However, I am getting constant seemingly random IR signals, some of which seem to result in keypresses or control characters or something which really messes with the PC. You can't really use the PC with this going on. If I look at the device log and enable IR debugging then I can see all these signals being received but if I leave a cursor in an editor I don't get any visible keys or anything showing, it's very odd. Hi, After updating my the flirc streacom edition (I think is gen1) to firmware 3.11 keypresses don't work anymore. Flirc seems to be connected with the flirc software as I can record presses, but they don't work on windows 10. I tried to reinstall the drivers several times and I noticed the flirc interface 1 is working fine using the libusbk driver, but the problem seems to be on the flirc interface 0 driver. It gets recogniced as and USB input device, but it throws and error 10: --- This device cannot start. Flirc detects ALL of my button presses on an Apple Gen 2 remote - looks like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Remote However when I try to replay the recorded keys/buttons, they largely don't work. Very rarely a correct press comes though. However the two buttons that do work 100% are the Menu and Play/Pause buttons (the two bottom buttons). So 2/7 buttons are working. I can only assume by the symptoms that it's a firmware bug. I'm on firmware 3.9.0, on Ubuntu 18.04, using the Flirc V1 device.

Greetings, I purchased the Flirc Jan 11/19 and it was working great. I have a dedicated Win 7/KODI HTPC that I use it in. I've setup batch files so that I can start Flirc then Kodi on bootup. Since the latest round of Firmware/Software updates, this Flirc device comes up as unrecognizable USB device by the OS when ever I do a restart of the PC. I now have to unplug then replug the Flirc back into the PC in order for it to be recognize every time I boot up. Any ideas how I can fix this or revert back to the Firmware prior to this one? I guess in hindsight, I should of left it alone. Why fix something that ain't broke... Thanks, Todd.

I just bought the Flirc and am trying to use flirc_util.exe send_ir_raw and it does not seem to be transmitting. Flirc can receive my TV remote key presses and the mapping is working perfectly, but when I try to transmit the codes back nothing happens. My phone camera can see the TV remote flash but not the Flirc. I also have a Pi set up with an IR receiver and transmitter. The Pi can see my TV remote transmit but not the Flirc transmission even if the devices are pointed directly at each other a few inches away. The software I am running is 3.22.4 and the firmware is 4.6.3. I am on Windows 10. I'm not sure if it matters if I have the GUI open or not wh…

Hi, I'm using the Vero 4K running OSMC (Kodi) and on the latest version, a change was made that has made using the FLIRC a nightmare as duplicate presses are making it havoc to use at all. The dev of OSMC stated: "Kodi v18 uses a new input method for devices that expose themselves as a keyboard (i.e. don’t go through an LIRC socket). The repeat filtering is different. You may need to adjust this on the FLIRC." Is there a way to adjust the FLIRC to stop the duplicate presses? Hello. Today I wanted to set something in my FLIRC so I turned on the application on my computer. There was an update that I made. Flirc now works badly with Nvidia Shield TV and my Harmony 700. When I turn on the button setup wizard and set all buttons and then connect Flirc to my Nvidia Shield TV it only works with HOME and BACK. Up, down, right, left and OK no reaction. How can I return to the previous firmware? I did not know that the update would corrupt the Flirc. I also noticed that in this firmware on my Harmony remote the "INFO" button works as a down button and the "GUIDE" button works as an Enter key. Big problems with new software. I want to go back to…

Just got my two flircs and having my first play tonight. I am using a Harmony 650 with the device set to MCE keyboard. I want to do this as I want maximum flexibility to map as many things as possible. XBMC install is Openelec 1.0.2 I am also using the full keyboard mode in flirc. I am getting a lot of 'Button already exists' errors as I try and record my remote. A by a lot - I mean, basically every button I push. Meaning I pretty much can't record anything. Regardless if I use it on Kodi on an ARM/Android or at my Win PC, pressing "up" on the remote once causes the cursor to jump up twice. Don't have this problem with other remotes. When I press a key on a remote which has not been learnt by flirc = sign is sent by flirc, in other words if I use my TV remote when my PC is on with flirc plugged in I hear an error sound from my PC and if I have a text editor open = is typed also if the flirc program is open on the keyboard page I can see that the = keyboard key is being pressed. This happens with any remote that hasn't been used for flirc.
