Flirc issues setup with remote

Hi All,

I have just received my Flirc USB and couldn't wait to set it up.  I have a movie room and everything is handled through a Crestron module and iPad, which used to be my Popcorn Hour C200.  Since that is now so obsolete and can't really stream any movies anymore, I upgraded to the Nvidia Shield Tv Pro, which works really well.  Since I have all kinds of integrations on my crestron (hit play and the movie starts, lights dim, etc), I want to keep those.  I had the installer come by last week, but he needs an IR channel to make anything happen, which is not on the Nvidia Shield Tv Pro (although it does state so on the box).  So I found a topic that someone used a flirc to bypass some things.  The installer told me to try and read the popcorn hour remote to use on my Shield tv, which would then match the Crestron install and all should work again.

However, I have installed the GUI on my macbook, as well as my win11 machine and I see the "connected" sign, even updated the firmware on the USB drive, but when I hit "GO" (minimalist view, but also tried the Nvidia V2 and other setups), I just see the green flashing light of the button I am trying to record and keep pressing the corresponding button on my Popcorn Hour C200 remote, short press, long press, other buttons,... and I also changed the batteries, just to be safe.  However, nothing seems to happen at all.

Does anyone know what I can do to sort this out?

Thank you in advance,

Best regards,

Robert Smits

Hi Jason,  I think the remote is sending an IR signal out, but I can try with another remote too... I am pretty sure it is sending an IR out.

Do you think the bove should work with Flirc though? Or is that something that'll likely never work?

As long as it sends out IR, it will work. We just need to test another remote to make sure the unit isn’t faulty.
