Hi Folks, I've been using Flircs to control Fire TV devices for years, usually using integrated remotes with IR emitters stuck to the Flirc. One of the systems just stopped working out of the blue a couple days ago. The emitters are flashing normally, and all other IR-controlled devices are fine, but the Fire stopped responding to any commands. We've tried a different Y OTG connector, a different Fire TV, a couple different power adapters for the Fire in case the output current got weak, and nada. The Flirc shows up fine when connected to a PC USB and I reloaded the map and updated the firmware just fine, still no joy. Oh, and ADB debugging is off - though we tr…

Hi, rebuilding my media center pc and having trouble getting my Flirc to work correctly. The current downloads page isn't available for this product and I've tried the USB driver instead with no success, just saying disconnected all the time. I managed to find a slightly older version of the software that installed a drive but the GUI just says Firmware Version Unsupported, 3.11.0 currently on device, 3.9.0 GUI Supported Version Anyone able to tell me how to fix this? I want to know if I can connect the Flirc to my PC (Windoz or RPi) and then blast IR signals to control various devices such as TV, AVS, etc. Pointer to the user manual? If it can, there are related questions: How reliable is the blasting? e.g. distance, comparability (wavelength) with many commercial boxes, stable/reliable transmission Is there a GUI app that can run under windos to emulate a remote keypad? Can I control the Flirc via a scripting language or a compiled language (e.g. C program)? I had the original flirc which worked flawlessly for years. I recommended it to many people. I decided to reprogram it for another remote and I got that virus message that people talk about, but I figured that was false, so I went ahead and upgraded the firmware and reprogrammed the new remote. It didn't work, so I went back to the original remote and that doesn't work now either. So I figured the flirc was old and tired and ordered a new one. Same thing happened with the new one, it doesn't send keystrokes reliably. I tried it with about 4 or 5 different remotes. Hello, when i switch the HDMI input via Logitech Harmony Companion, this sends 2x key_up to flirc. It is on every HDMI input. The Harmony and Flirc is set to Kodi control set. Is there anything i can do to prevent this? TV is a Samsung UE65RU7179. Before Flirc i had a WMC IR receiver, which never received any signal on TV input change. Regards, Andreas

I am attempting to get my new Flirc setup today, but everytime I try to download the software Windows Defender says that it found a Trojan in it. Very frustrated right now as I had planned to spend the entire day getting it setup with my Harmony Hub. What's going on with this? I am attempting to download the software directly from your website by the way.

What's the general recommendation when it comes to keeping up to date? I programmed and made a profile for Panasonic TV remote and it works fine. When opening the app today it said there's new version of the app available, is it just bug fixes when programming the buttons, or is there other benefits? I understand that it's usually best to always use the latest version for things, but sometimes there is also a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" aspect as well.

Hi, I just unpacked my new Flirc and Harmony Companion and now I am seriously confused regarding configuration. I set up Harmony for my TV, AV receiver and Playstation easily but now I need to add Flirc-enriched PC and I somehow can't figure out how. I mean, I decided for Flirc because it behaves like keyboard which promises most usability for less typical configs. But I just can't figure out how and where do I set this up, I do not need any profiles or so. What I need most is send 'Space' for waking up, sleep button for Sleeping, all multimedia keys like play, also esc, enter etc...I do not need any predefined profiles like kodi which I am not using, I just want to emula…

I'm trying to use sendir to send volume up and volume down commands to my AMP. The commands are RC-5 16 and 17 with system code 16. How can I convert these codes into a pattern that sendir understands? Is there are way to record the commands from the existing remote and just play them back on linux?

Hi I want to control Zoomplayer via Samsung RC6 IR MCE Media Center Remote Control. Everything (until now) works flawless except (which is important) the Volume Up/ Down function. + or = increase and - decrease the volume. Unfortunately with me MCE Remote I can´t assign that keys via flirc & full keyboard. The flirc Kodi volume buttoms also doesn´t work. If I use the flirc media keys they only work with the integrated Windows 10 volume slider which actually doesn´t work because I have a USB 2 Digital Optout interface. How can I programm + and - ? Can´t the flirc full keyboard software become an update to get these keys?

Hello, I have a fairly basic question I believe, but couldn't seem to find an answer to this. I want to know how this works when switching between two devices with one remote, once controlled by flirc and one not. Is there a way to program a button to switch between devices or stop/start controlling the flirc device? I have a simple setup. LG TV, Xfinity Cable, Amazon Fire TV. I want to control all three with the Xfinity remote (Don't want to give up the voice search on Xfinity). So I plan on using the Flirc in the Amazon fire TV since it doesn't have IR. I have been using Flirc for my application for almost 2 yrs now, and I have have no issues with both Flirc devices to receiving commands from my remote controls. I wanted to try sending an IR command and the device doesn't seem to send anything. I have 2 Flirc devices with the latest release (Firmware Version: v4.9.3, SKU: Flirc 2.0 [dori]). Dear all, I have a FLIRC since about 2015, and was always very happy with it. Now in 2020, I had to change a button and used the current ubuntu FLIRX software (3.25.3). I was able to reprogram the button, but since then it seems changed at all, the response and repeate rate of the buttons is very bad / slow, even if I us3e the same remote as before. Just pointing on a list on the PC and stay on down - now it goes 1 down, before it went down one for some time and then repeated without problems and fast. Now sometimes does not repeata at all or repeats slow. Can I do something to rescue it?

I have a Streacom case with the older Flirc. It works, accepting input in Windows 7-8-10, macOS and Linux. Its shows only as a keyboard in device manager. Regardless of it being connected before or after driver installation. Flirc GUI shows disconnected always, regardless of software version, Windows version and on macOS. Any ideas appreciated. Bought and needed this only for power on, never got it working to program that one button.

So I seem to have found all the Flirc USB gen1 units I had thought I had lost. I now have three gen1 and one gen2 units. I was setting them up for various uses and may have a gen1 that has gone bad? I'm using GUI v3.25.3 and was able to connect and update the firmware to v3.11, but any key I try to program in any of the templates triggers a "transfer error" message in the message window in the middle-bottom of the GUI as soon as I press the remote button. I tried a couple different remotes. Also the happy-face "connected" momentarily changes to sad-face "disconnected" when the transfer error appears. Im trying to use the Flirc with Nvidia Shiled TV 2019 On he Avant TV I can set the PUC to use the IR blaster to remotely control an accessory ( in this case the Nvidia) and download the PUC codes to operate the Nvidia with the blaster. I have downloaded the software from Flirc and can see the config fole for the nvidia Pro. It is not clear what happens next Do I attach the IR dongle from the TV ( I have already downloaded the PUC codes for NVvidia shiedl into the TV)

Hi, I've just bought a gen 1 Flirc to control Kodi on an old iMac I'm giving to my mum (running Yosemite 10.10.5). I cannot get any version of the GUI I've downloaded to install (3.22.2, 3.22.4, 3.25.3). All give me an error message that the file is 'damaged and can't be opened'. I enabled (temporarily) 'Apps Downloaded From Anywhere' under Privacy, but just get another error 'check with the developer this file works with this version of OS X'. I did find a version 0.98 somewhere, which does install, but won't let me record any key presses. The only work around I have found, is to install Flirc on my new macbook, record the key presses on it, then plug the flirc back…

Hey guys, I'm new to Flirc. I'm having a strange issue I can't seem to figure out. I have my volume buttons mapped to system volume ie media keys which works great though at random when turning down the volume it'll rewind my video 10-20 seconds back and sometimes all the way to the beginning of the video. Any ideas would could be causing this? Love the product! I'm using Windows 10 but this also happens in various Linux distros I've used.

I'm long time user of MS eHome receiver with Harmony One and Kodi but since MS receiver is big I recently tried to switch to Flirc. Unfortunately no matter what I do I'm not able to wake my HTPC with Flirc. It works like one in 10 button presses. I setup my Harmony One using Kodi profile available for Flirc in Logitech software plus teaching additional buttons using cheap universal remote and then assigning Harmony button to wake key in full keyboard GUI view. My hardware setup is correct because I'm always able to wake HTPC on first try when using eHome receiver. Is there anything I can try? I already made sure that HID device has "Allow this device to wake the computer"…
