I've downloaded and installed the latest GUI and inserted the flirc usb device into my htpc. I'm running Windows 10. However once I insert the flirc things start to go haywire. For example when I click one of the dropdowns on the GUI (such as "controllers") it looks like the dropdown menu opens up for a split second then immediately disappears. I'm not able to even begin the set-up process. On the desktop, clicking the Windows icon opens the list of apps but then it too immediately closes. Windows becomes unstable and the only way i can rectify it is to remove the flirc. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling flirc.exe, but to no avail. Can anyone help me with this prob…

I received my FLIRC IR yesterday and I am unable to download the application to configure it for Mac OSX. I have exhausted troubleshooting on my mac, and other files download fine. I get the following error when I attempt to install it: "You can’t open the application “Flirc.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete." Also, the FLIRC app icon has a red X through it Is the source file damaged? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just got my gen2 case and its great. When I went to move it when the pi3 was on and I got a small electrical shock. The shock shut the pi off. What would cause this?

Hi, I checked the forums, but didn't really find a topic with my problem, so I try to ask: I have a first generation flirc and I use that without any problems for years. But I decided to get a new one, mostly becouse I have a frequent error in my mediapc/kodi that maybe becouse the old flirc reciever i got already used years back, but mostly becouse the new one is more up-to-date and let's face it, smaller, nicer and fits more to the mediapc than the old. I got the new one, but after setting up (install software, program the keys to my remote) it didn't work at all. I attempted to install to a Raspberry Pi using the curl command as the web site specifies. It gets the following error: GPG error: http://apt.flirc.tv/arch/raspbian/binary ./ Release: The following signatures were invalid: B3692E93F96844490B26153C3F0B7E963CBA18E3 Can someone either confirm there is a problem or enlighten me what I may be doing wrong? Hello, I am having problems running command line flirc_util (v3.9.10) on macOS High Sierra. When I first tried running it I got: "Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libhidapi.0.dylib" I ran "brew install hidapi", and after that flirc_util would run and print the usage message. Unfortunately, when I tried any other command, like "flirc_util status", I was getting: "device disconnected, can't run command" Flirc itself works fine, and the GUI app works too. Could you point me to anything else I could try to make flirc_util work? Thank you!

Hi, I'm trying to set up flirc that I just bought with my LG smart remote to be able to control kodi on an android box. I keep getting button already exists, and I did the following to trouble shoot, but none helped: 1. Avoided interference, all electronics and lights were off except for a laptop with windows 10 that I was using to install flirc 2. Reinstalled app 3. tried to minimalist and Kodi remotes, none of them worked 4. Disabled reconfigured profiles in the advanced setting as one suggested so far none worked. Any suggestions?

i am trying to get firetv to wake from sleep only when a unique button on the remote is pressed. i am using a single device remote. the goal is to control firetv as well as my htpc with one remote. i have two flirc, one for each device. while the wake functionality works fine for the htpc, it doesnt on fire tv. when i am using the htpc, of course the presses are taking place on the ftv as well and i would like to avoid doing that. is it possible? if so what am i doing wrong, how do i get it to work on the ftv?

Hello, I have been peripherally involved with the guys over at hifi-remote.com/forums for 15+ years. If you are not familiar, there is an open source toolset available for UEI-based remotes, and many other tools that have been developed to support IR in general over there. I am wondering if there is a way to program FLIRC with a sequence similar to the raw IR format shown in the FLIRC debug window rather than using learns. Since with the RM-IR toolset we know the exact correct IR signal, it would be nice to be able to program the FLIRC with that rather than relying on learns. I would like the power button on my remote (I have a spare WDTV and a Panasonic remote which I'm using with Flirc Gen 2) to act as a sleep button. I'm using a Windows 10 laptop to run Kodi. I've tried using the Shut down button in both GUI & command line. Although both report success nothing happens when the power button is pressed. I want sleep rather than shut down anyway. In windows the key combination for sleep is Win key + x (simultaneously) followed by u then s. How should I turn this into a macro? (I have read the manual and searched the forum, but no one else seems to have asked this question). Thank you.

Hello, Where can I get the older versions of Flirc for Mac OS (or windows)? I am running Yosemite on my Macbook Pro and the current version will not open. It gives me an Ignore/Report option. I know this set up is far from ideal, but due to a computer crash, I have to resort to using my old Macbook Pro as a temporary HTPC for a few months. Due to a computer failure, I am temporarily using an older Macbook Pro with Yosimete on it for a few months until I can get a better computer. I can't update to Sierra or anything due to crashes. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I've run the debain generic installer script and it has put the correct source references in `/etc/apt/sources.list.d/Flirc_repo.list`. I'm on jessie, so the entries look like: deb-src https://packagecloud.io/Flirc/repo/debian/ jessie main So far so good. Nothing gets loaded though. apt-get update reports: Ign https://packagecloud.io jessie/main Translation-en Looking at packagecloud, there is no listing for jessie related packages. Where do I go from here?

Is it possible to map a button of a remote control to some unique custom event that EventGhost could handle? I mean an event that will not coincide with other (standard) system events, e.g., it will not be treated as a keyboard key-press or a multimedia control event as it is now.

Hello there. I bought an Amazon Fire Stick a few days ago - it's brand new, so I guess it's the latest generation. I want to be able to control it with my Harmony 650 remote. So I read on the Flirc website that you can use a "Micro USB host OTG cable with micro USB power", which you plug into the micro USB port on the Firestick, and then plug in the power and Flirc to the sockets on that cable. So I bought a Flirc and one of those cables...and it doesn't work. The Firestick won't power up. Any suggestions as to why that might be? Have I got the wrong type of cable? Maybe the latest generation Firestick is not compatible?

I purchased Flirc in order to add the home and return/back buttons from my Amazon remote to my Harmony 650. If I go through the automated setup on the Fire TV screen, everything registers properly (up/down/select) until I get to the home button. I wanted to assign the red button on the Harmony as home. Flirc wouldn't take it. It didn't matter what button(s) I pushed, Flirc wouldn't accept any buttons as home or back/return. I also tried using the full keyboard and alt/windows/return and had the same result. I tried the home button on the full keyboard as well. Any ideas?

My setup is an Amazon firetv with a flirc and a Harmony 655 remote that have worked fine together. Recently I wanted to add a FLIRC to my HTPC with the same remote. In Harmony software I have two devices (FLIRC firetv and FLIRC kodi- they both show as flirc media player). The problem is both the HTPC and the FireTV are picking up the same commands. Which is wreaking havok on whichever device isn't currently active. Any ideas?

I have a strange problem where only about 10% of the button presses are being registered. I'm using a 7th gen NUC with a new flirc usb. I've tried different OS builds, remotes, pc's and I've narrowed it down. The problem only occurs when the flirc is plugged into the front ports of the NUC, but works fine in the back ports. A regular keyboard works fine on the front ports. Hi all, I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out whats going on so figured id sign up and ask! Been a Flirc user for over 2 years and legit 2 days ago it simply stopped controlling my Kodi setup (Windows 10 PC) using Logitech Harmony. I can see its still active in Device Manager and tried uninstalling software/driver + reinstall. Tried removing the Device from Logitech Harmony and re-adding. Changed USB ports .... almost everything under the sun I can think of but my remote simply cant control my PC (kodi) any more. Hi all, I recently bought a Flirc and am using it to control Kodi running on a Windows 7 laptop/docking station connected to my TV/AVR setup. My plans are to migrate eventually from the laptop/docking station to a Raspberry Pi. I'm using an RCRP05B remote running extender 1.05 and have chosen a Samsung TV upgrade that uses the NECx2 protocol to control the Flirc. So far, I'm happy with the Flirc, but I did have a couple questions for the collective. First, I'd really like to be able to view my configuration. I've forgotten how I've mapped some of my keys. I've been using a 1st gen Flirc on my shield tv in my bedroom for awhile now and it works perfectly and I just got a second shield tv for my living room and I also bought a 2nd gen Flirc to go with it. I'm trying to copy the config of the first gen Flirc to the 2nd gen Flirc but it doesn't seem to be working. Both Flircs have their latest firmware (3.9 and 4.4.2) and I have tried doing a save config on the 1st gen and then a load config on the 2nd gen but none of the buttons work when using the same remote. Am I doing something wrong or are the two generation config files not compatible?

I recently upgraded to the generation two of Flirc on my LibreElec media center. I am using a Harmony Elite remote control and using the Media Center PC, Flirc, Kodi profile for my Harmony remote and the codec worked with my previous Flirc and I believe it worked with Gen 2 Flirc also when I installed it. For some reason the Codec key doesn't do anything now when pressing it. I verified the key was setup correctly in the Harmony software and it is using Codec info from the Flirc device pressing that button. I am not sure why the Codec stopped working and what to do to fix it since the Flirc should be all configured out of the box. If anyone has any suggestions getti…

Using Mac v3.1.0 - firmware v4.2.2 - in Advanced, there is no inter-key delay? Has it been removed? Am getting key repeats with a Sky HD+ remote (usually the left/right buttons), various post say inter-key delay is the 'key' to resolve but it doesn't seem to exist anymore/in the Mac version? Have tried wiping the configuration, reloading, remapping, still seems to be left/right directions. Also tried 2 different Sky HD+ remotes.
