As title says. Haven't been able to use Flirc for aeons as no .rpm installs available. Even went to bother of converting the deb file with alien but that just produces transaction check errors from file conflicts. You really do need to change product and website information to supporting Ubuntu only and NOT Linux.

My question is simple the solution maybe not. My setup consists of a logitech harmony hub and logitech harmony touch remote a J4205-ITX board and a flirc 2nd gen. The problem is that flirc wakes up regardless which remote signal arrives. It does not care if its from the logitech or from the remote of the tv or any other remote or key, it wakes up. Is it possible to stop that behavior? Thanks for all answers in advance

I have my flirc hooked up to a raspberry pi 3 media center (openelec)...and when it's working it works great. However I have an issue where after the pi has been idle for a couple hours, the flirc will be totally unresponsive for 10 or 15 seconds...then it will start responding sporadically, and then over the next 45 secs or so it will become more and more responsive until it is working properly. The pi does not go to sleep, it is just idle...does the flirc itself go to sleep and if so is there a way to disable that?

On an iMac, where the FLIRC is plugged directly into a USB receptacle, I was able to program my FLIRC. However, on a Mac Mini (also plugged directly into the computer) and on my Mac Book Pro, using a USB-C to USB-A dongle, the FLIRC does not learn. I never get a "success" message. I looked at IR debugging in the log, and no IR commands are received. I'm trying to learn from a FireTV remote. I have Gen 2 and the latest firmware and GUI. Any ideas?

I would like to know how do one gets the default key profile loaded lets say for harmony kodi for example? In the Download section i cannot find sample .cfgs ? Its says somewhere that it gets delivered with mce as default configuration, but as i got mine it doesn´t seem to be that way (flirc 2nd gen). Anyway i would like to understand the concept on this topic instead of learn all the keys by myself which i did. Thanks for all clarification

I purchased a second flirc and loaded my original config file to the flirc. If you press the arrows it sends through too many (2 usually) commands. The config file was from the first version flirc device. The second device is V2 flirc which I restored using the original config file to the new V2 flirc device. I searched this problem where is says to change the interkey delay. In the flirc software, when I go to File>Advanced there is no place to change the interkey display. What am I doing wrong? Thanks JOHN

Hi, I've just purchased a Flirc and should be receiving it today. I've tried searching for the answer but couldn't find it. Does Flirc have the ability to learn a remote command (via Harmony) and assign it to a keyboard key, in turn assigning it to the Flirc itself?

Hello, I bought a FLIRC USB (the new version, metal color) and I'm using with a Harmony + Kodi. The issue I have is that when my computer is sleeping, any keypress on the harmony wakes the computer. So if I just want to watch the TV now, the computer will be always in a 'awake' state. I tried to bind the correct buttons on the FLIRC "wake" functionality on the FLIRC Windows app, but still, any keypress wakes the computer. I read on the forums a time ago that it's like that and a new version will be released with a fix for that. But I also heard that some people manage to make it work and so on. I'm quite confused whether this is an issue that has alre…

Hi, I've had my flirc for a while, but I've started to use it again and getting some problems First, is that any key flirc recognises from my Sony TV remote, wakes my PC if it's asleep. This never used to happen. For example I have the pause button linked as pause, if I'm watching netflix on the tv and press pause, it will turn my PC on? This goes for any key, so makes either flirc or my remote unusable if my PC is asleep, so to avoid it being woken all the time I'm having to unplug my flirc Another problem I've had since I got the flirc, is that when trying to pause or resume something, it will press it twice a lot of the time. I.e. resume and then pause immed…

I have a little Raspberry Pi box, well actually a bunch of them, that I built as Kodi platforms as well as a little mini PCs running Windows Media Center (WMC) at all of my TVs. Also I use Harmony remotes. On the WMC machines I use standard off-the-shelf Media Center IR receivers with Harmony activities defined as WMC as well as a separate activity set for basically something like an airmouse function. Now that I have added the Pi/Flirc setup, with the XBMC Activity set defined in the Harmony there seems to be a lot of command bleed over, at first I thought it was both directions but it seems it just that the Pi (Flirc) responds to WMC commands, but not the other way arou…

Need some newbie help, please. I purchased a Logitech Harmony 650 last week. So far, it is working great with my TV, receiver and Yamaha sound bar. I got my Flirc IR usb dongle today in the mail. I connected it to my htpc and ran the setup and installed the drivers. I upgraded the firmware when prompted. I added it as a device to my 650 ( Flirc/Kodi) and all seemed fine. I then mapped keys in the Flirc GUI and that process seemed to go smoothly as well. All keys reported they mapped fine as I was doing it. But still, if I launch Kodi, not a single key on the 650 is working. Do I need to do anything else? Must the Flirc software be open for this to work? This is Kodi 17 (K…

Hey, I 've been using Flirc on my PC to control various media apps like mpc and foobar and it has been working great (mapped as a full keyboard). What I wanted to know is if there is a way to emulate an alt+tab on windows so that I can switch between windows. Mapping alt+tab to a key obviously doesn't work as well as it will emulate both key presses each time, hence there is no sane way to actually select the window you want to switch focus to. I've tried mapping alt and tab to separate keys (by mapping alt via the command line utility) to no avail either. Any ideas? Or perhaps a possible enhancement?

I've posted this question back in 2015 but didn't get a definite answer. Does anybody know what is the fastest (shortest?) IR protocol? I'm interested in rapid button presses from a remote control. (not holding down a button for repeats, but pressing the same physical button the repeat over and over) Anybody have any ideas?

I just pulled an old original Flirc device out of my drawer and would like to update the firmware. The device connects to the GUI (Win10) and says the firmware is v1.0.0. I cannot find a download for a newer (or any) firmware. All "firmware download links" point to https://flirc.tv/downloads But there is only the GUI software. :(

So I just upgraded to 4.1 firmware on my nice new v2 Flirc dongle. And now, my keys are wayyyyyy too sensitive. Is there something I can edit to slow them down? Its just a regular old HP mce remote. Before it was too slow. Looking for the Goldilocks solution.

I have a 2017 NVidia shield I just recently bought. I did not get the pro version. Now I need to be able to use IR to wake/sleep the box and do other things. I bought a flirc since I heard it worked with the shield. My issue is I cant program the flirc since I don't have the IR version. How do I get this to work? I use simplecontrol as my remote and it has the NVidia shield in its database, presumably the IR version so why couldn't the same commands be used on the flirc? Am I screwed? Would it work if someone were to give me a configuration I could load since I clearly cant create one with the shield remote?

I've tried to set up a kodi box to be as simple as possible for my grandmother to use. It works perfectly when I am there and I try to show her how to use it. But when I leave, she will call me and say that the context menu has appeared, and she has no idea what to do from that point. This was completely baffling me, because I had NOT mapped any buttons on the remote to the context menu, so I couldn't understand how she was possibly bringing it up. After some googling tonight, I have discovered that flirc apparently maps a long press of the OK button to the context menu key. This must be how she keeps bringing up the context menu. Is there any way to disable this? Sh…

Hello, I have a small problem with Flirc on my HTPC with Win10. I use remote control for SAT receiver also for controlling Kodi on HTPC via Flirc. But when HTPC is turned off and I use remote control for SAT - HTPC starts suddenly with pressing of some button on remote control. When I unplug Flirc from USB - it is okey. So it means something is wrong in HTPC/Win10. Please does anyone know where should be a problem and how this issue can be solved? Thanks for your replies! Martin

I'm using Flirc with a Sharp Aquos. I've disabled the FireTV's CEC support, so it shouldn't be getting a press from that. However, every time I press left or right (unless I'm extremely gentle), I get two presses instead of one in that it moves two to the left, two to the right. The advanced section of the GUI is grayed out and everything is disabled. I set the interkey delay via the command line, but the change isn't persistent or doesn't appear at all: flirc_util version v2.3.9 [v2.3.9] Firmware: v4.0.24 [0x80CA1DDF] Settings: sleep detection: NA noise canceler: NA inter-key delay: NA seq. modifiers: NA variant: …
