General Questions

Just purchased a Gen 2 and it won't work with the same remote as I have working with my Gen 1, more specifically with the directional keys. Keep getting "<3>record_hash(323): hash exists" with different buttons. These buttons register as individual buttons on Gen 1, but not on Gen 2. If i can get the different buttons registered, it sends the wrong command. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's very frustrating, especially as Gen 1 works flawlessly.

Hi, i have bought a flirc usb original and downloaded software from flirc but in debug log says not supported device use gen2 with 4.1.0 firmware i have only 3.9.0 that the new one.

Hi, The FAQ says about the "NEW SOFTWARE FEATURES", I think that means macros and long_key_presses, under 9) Q: When will the new software features get released? A: ...Both will be complete in the first quarter of 2016... but I can't find it in the GUI or at least I don't know how it works. What's the right way to do it? At the moment I only have the v1, but the v2 is ordered. So if I have to plug the right one in to see the features then the problem solves it self when it arrives ;). THX Pietro

Title says it all: My Flirc is not working, when the network cable is attached to my Raspberry Pi 3. Disconnect the cable and everything works fine. So far I tryed: - using a differnt Flirc dongle - using a different Raspberry Pi 3 - using a different USB cable - using a different remote control OS on my Raspberry is the latest version of LibreELEC Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

I bought FLIRC specifically to use with Kodi on a new iMac without an IR receiver. (There is a picture of this remote on the website, so it seemed reasonable to expect it to work.) But there is no controller map for this remote, and it seems impossible to duplicate the behaviour of the original so that, e.g., the up arrows work for navigation, but also change volume while a file is playing. Have i wasted my money?

Hi, I have had a Flirc Gen.1 plastic model for a number of years in an older media PC. That unit had died and I have just setup a ZOTAC Windows 7 Pro PC. I also use a Harmony One remote and added a Flirc device in Kodi flavor. After downloading the current software from your site, I could program keys - but I cannot use the Harmony to operate Kodi (or even use the number-keys within a .txt file). The log reads: Error: unsupported device must have flirc gen 2 enabled device and fw >= 4.1.0 I did google this and ended up with messages based on the same symptoms but with no real solution. Hi, I bought flirc usb dongle in order to pair my dive computer (scubapro galileo) with my PC, which has to be done via infrared. I have used standard infrared usb dongles in the past which did not give me any issue, but I cannot get any connection thorugh flirc. Any idea on what I could do to solve the issue? I cannot change any infrared setting on the dive computer, any change would have to be done on the pc. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Normal rremotes seem to work fine, but I just got a new harmony remote that I wanted to use with flirc, but it's not sending any inputs to the flirc reciever. Am i doing something wrong? Do I need to configure MyHarmony software in some way to get this working? Thanks

I tried to download and use the flirctv app. But Norton auto-deleted it, saying it was infected with WS.Reputation.1 (see screenshot). Is it possible to get a clean copy?

Here is my setup: I have 2 flircs. The first is a gen2 connected to my HTPC that is controlled with a harmony remote using the Flirc Kodi profile. The second is a 1st gen flirc that is connected to a pc in my basement that serves as a media server. It is also controlled by the same harmony remote, but with a Bluray player profile and the built in profiles are disabled in the advanced settings of the flirc software. I have one button setup that wakes the PC. That's the only thing I need the remote be able to do for that PC is to wake it. I just got a Flirc 2.0 and I have gotten everything I really wanted working when I bought it, however I was hoping to get the last 2 buttons on my remote to work for something. I have an iMac that I wanted to use the old white plastic IR remotes with. I got the sound functions through the media controls, and pause function through the Keyboard(space) control working I would love to get the Brightness Controls with the last 2 buttons I have left on the remote. I've got a mini-PC running Win10x64. Unfortunately it does not support WOL via the BIOS. Since I'm primarily using it as a Kodi box, I'm looking for an alternate way to sleep/wake when not in use. I have a Harmony Elite that I would like to use for this. After some googling, I heard about Flirc, so I bought one and have been trying to figure out how to make this work. One method I found was to create a desktop shortcut with some powercfg commands to sleep the computer with a key combination and mapping that to a button on the remote. I don't know if this is a kodi issue or a Flirc issue, but I will try here first. Last night my Pi3 with kodi (openelec) froze, where I had to do a hard reboot. After that my Harmony Ultimate would not work properly. Kodi no longer responded to the direction keys or the select key. It would back a noise if I pushed the Back button, and would respond to the Page Up and Page down buttons on the screens. I downloaded the updated Flirc app and updated the firmware, re-programmed the direction and select buttons, and returned the Flirc to the Pi 3, but the problem still persists. Is there anything else I can do, or is this a Kodi issue?

Hi folks, I recently swapped out my windows based HTPC for a Shield TV. I've got it up and running no sweat and have an activity tied to my Harmony Ultimate. No problems there. However, I'm interested in understanding if my flirc is even useful at this point. Does anyone out there have any good examples of how to use flirc with a shield tv? I would love to toggle subtitles, change audio feeds, and play directly from the plex dashboard (as opposed to having to go into a film or tv episode's detail page) but I don't think that's possible. I've got my Flirc (metal model) and I can't get it to work. I've plugged it and installed Flirc for Windows, but whenever I open the program, it instantly freezes (Not responding in window's title) and I have to manually kill it in the Task Manager. I've found out that other people had this issue, some resolved by reinstalling the drivers with an utility (ZADIG). I tried that too but so far nothing changed. If I go to Devices in Windows, I see flirc listed under "other devices", so that's something I guess. I'm out of ideas, any help? So for a few years I've been using a cheap XBMC clone remote with my HTPC & Kodi. Works for most functions and I can get it to send the HTPC to sleep but never to wake. I always have to get up and press the PC power button. So I've just bought and set up the 2nd gen Flirc. Updated to latest firmware. Now I can control more Kodi features with the Flirc but I still can't get it to wake the PC.. (or indeed at the moment, suspend the PC). I've tried everything I can think of. Hi, i just bought a flirc usb and trying to set it up. the setup is very easy indeed, but i have one thing i just cant find any solution for. so i thought id ask here and see if you could help me. i want to bind one button on the remote to "ctrl + windows key + arrow right" and one button for(almost) the same, but arrow left instead of right. this is the keys used to switch between virtual desktops in windows 10. is there any way of doing this? either in the flirc software or with any third-party software? i saw something on the mainpage about marcos, but as i understand that is something "to come"?

I have Windows 7 x64 Well, I have these two Flircs (you all sent me one of them for free back when I had troubles the first time) and they are a bit old; I think from 2015. I have installed the latest Flirc GUI and upgraded the firmware on my Flircs from 3.6 to 3.9. You can see that Flirc has the 3.9 driver. Neither of my Flircs respond to the remote control's commands. Hi guys, I have a remote here that I would like to re-create in any of the free available Android IR apps. I do have the IR codes form the manufacturer, but not the IR protocol (so I cannot re-create the remote in an Android app yet). This is a remote for a niche product, so the remote codes are not in any database. Is it possible to extract the IR codes and IR protocol via Flirc ? If so, what would be the workflow ?
