Is the Sky Tv (Sky UK) remote supported? See link here: https://goo.gl/CEdL68. In addition, can you connect this to a fire tv and program a sky tv remote to use on the fire tv?

I have a Streacom Flirc SE and have noticed that when power is removed completely, i.e. not just powered off, but actually physically disconnecting the power supply, it does not work on reconnecting the power unless I start up the Flirc application, which causes it to update the firmware (to the same version it was before!) after which it starts working again. Is this normal behaviour?

Hi, I just ordered my first flirc device after using regular, MCE mappings for years to interact with MythTV. I ordered the device because of the flexibility of generating programmable virtual keypress events from remote events. What I want to do is to mimic the onscreen keyboard found in smart TV's, MythTV etc by using remote arrow keys to navigate between the keys of the virtual keyboard and the OK button to trigger a virtual keypress. The whole process should be visible on a popup onscreen keyboard on the TV. New owner, hello. I am having a heck of a time getting my new flirc to work with my Harmony 300 remote and the 4th gen fire tv 4k. The Firetv is in the back of the tv powered with an OTG cable and a short USB extension so the flirc faces out of the front of the TV within 10 feet and line of site. The device was added to the harmony as flirc and model firetv (I tried xmbc as well). It's not responding at all, but the firetv is fine as it responds to the OEM remote. I do have ADB debugging turned off in the device settings, it's been rebooted, all to no avail. I gotta be missing a step somewhere.... any advice or help appreciated.

Hello folks :) Sorry if this has been answered before I've searched the forums here and google but couldn't find any definitive answer. So is it possible to use flirc with a remote to control windows 10 in tablet mode? I've seen some discussions where people are commenting on using tablet mode for their HTPC as it's nice big tiles and good for navigating, but cant find out how they are doing it. When i start windows 10 in tablet mode, I can use the mouse only? flirc remote doesn't seem to work and plugged in keyboard doesn't seem to work,. I'm assuming there is a workaround, I just can't find it :( Really appreciate some help. Thanks, AL. :)

I was excited when my Flirc came in today, but unfortunately I get double key presses for every key pressed on my Sharp GA935WJSA remote. For example, when selecting a file in File Explorer, I can press 'down' on the remote and the highlight will move two folders down as oppose to one when using the keyboard. All keys are affected of course. I tried pointing the remote at the ceiling, recording from a different usb port and even a different computer. I saw a how to on adjusting inter-key delay but it seems to be gone from the latest version of flirc GUI 3.1.0. Updating to latest firmware 4.2.2 did not help. Running Win10 Home x64. Hi New to flirc, trying to program an old MCE remote (VRC-1100 http://kodi.wiki/view/VRC-1100 - worked great with Kodi on a HTPC) to control a Nvidia Shield (since the bluetooth remote is such garbage). I have firmware 4.2.2 installed, I select "Nvidia Shield" from Controllers menu and then click go! and try to pair the buttons. Every time I reach the middle button and I try to associate it with the OK button (between the arrows on the MCE remote) I received the error "button already exists". Hey guys. Ok I use the Flirc streacom edition. I have wired the board like the manual says, I can see it gets power from the USB becasue the little blue led lights up like a Christmas tree. I can start the computer from the power button on the Streacom FC5 Alpha but my Harmony does nothing. I have a harmony One, I have download the config for Flirc Media Player - Flirc Kodi. It has a command called Power off. This command does nothing when the computer is in soft off. When the computer is turned on and Kodi is on it brings up the power off menu inside Kodi. Hi, I just received my Flirc to go with the Nvidia Shield and I'm having some configuration challenges with my Harmony 350 remote. I followed the Harmony setup guide for Flirc and I'm using the "Flirc Media Player" profile. I noticed that there are several native Kodi controls that are missing that are mapped to keyboard shortcuts. The main ones that are missing for me are the Live TV controls such as EPG or channels, page up and down, etc. I tried using the keyboard profile but Flirc isn't recognizing all of the Harmony button presses - I imagine this is why the Harmony profile was created. I have URC remote that's configured to keep sending commands while the button is pressed. I can see signal getting transmitted. And, similar config works with all my other devices - receiver, tivo, etc. It doesn't work for Flirc. I have both, old and new, configured to Nvidia Shield and Fire TV. Both only react one time and not repeating. I've tried 2 different code sets on URC - AUX 001 and, I think, 022. Neither will repeat. Any ideas? BTW, new model doesn't have inter-key delay in firmware.

I have built a Kodi dedicated box for my family using an Oregin AE S10V case that includes a VF310 display behind a plex panel. . I have tested the USB FLIRC with Kodi/Windows 10 and other than the suspend/power off issue it works great with our Harmony One remote and the Harmony profile for Kodi. I just can't get the suspend to work given the fact that we use the Harmony One for other remote needs as well (suspend wakes up any time any other key is pressed on the remote). My idea is to buy a FLIRC SE version and unsolder the IR sensor, remount it behind the VF310 panel and run wires from it back to the PC board mounted elsewhere in the case. Just got the Flirc today and setup for my MythTV system using the Full Keyboard was pretty straightforward once I got going. However, a few of my keys (like the arrow keys on my Harmony 300) are sending multiple keypresses like crazy. So it's really hard when I'm in the guide or a menu and it jumps four spots for one button press. I saw a post about going to the advanced settings and changing a delay, but my Flirc (silver) doesn't have that setting. I've attached my config. my_flirc_config_for_buster.fcfg

I was running firmware 3.8.0 and working with Samsung smart tv remote for Amazon Fire TV 2015. It has the problem that return key responds twice on one click. I reported this issue before but did not get much help. I recently updated firmware to 3.9.0 hoping it would solve the problem. But it didn't and introduces a new one. I used to be able to long press home button to bring up the menu to put device to sleep. Now long pressing home button is registered as two separate clicks, which brings up info window showing what the home button does. Is there a way to roll back to previous firmware, even earlier than 3.8.0?

I have a Windows 8 PC sitting directly beside my Samsung TV. What I'm hoping to do is a buy FLIRC and combine it with a cheap universal remote control. I'd prefer to use the universal remote control alone to control my TV, my blu ray player, and my HTPC all without interfering with each other. What I mean by interfering is that if I'm using the remote to control my HTPC and I press a button on the remote intended for FLIRC, then in most cases I probably wouldn't want the TV's IR receiver to also pick up that button press and react to it because it may cause weirdness. I'm using a home automation controller with several 3.5mm IR outputs. These IR outputs are typically cables connected to IR emitters that you place on the front of your equipment so the controller can send IR commands to the different devices. However, some devices have an 3.5mm IR input which means I can connect a 3.5mm cable from my controller directly to my device and the IR commands are sent over the wire and do not require an emitter. Can any of the Flirc models be modified (?) to directly connect a 3.5mm cable to it? I'm just trying to avoid sticking an emitter on the Flirc.

Hi, just got my Flirc today and have setup my remote controller pretty well (the online instructions are very clear!). I'm using it with a Minix U9-H Android media center, primarily using Kodi. There are three buttons I don't know how to assign though: 1) Android Home button (to return me all the way back to Android's Home screen with one press) 2) Android Power button (to bring up standby/shutdown menu - I suspect this menu is controlled by a system app) 3) Mouse button (to activate the on-screen mouse pointer) I have plugged in a regular keyboard and tried all of the keys but none of them correspond, so I couldn't assign buttons for those functions. Greetings, I tried searching the forum but the only discussion I found about this dates back to 2014. Will the firmware and the apps for Flirc ever be released as free software? I plan to use it on my private network, so I'm a bit reluctant about a keyboard-like device running and programmable with proprietary software. Please don't take it personally, you could be Mother Teresa and I'd be cautious the same way.

This isn't really a FLIRC question per se, but I keep a browser window on a 2nd screen on the Mac that is playing Youtube or other video content. I want want to be able to send a space or arrow key to it to pause or rewind. The trouble is, its not the active app, because I am working in another app in the main window. So I have to move the mouse over to the other screen, click the window, then press the space bar to play/pause or arrow keys to skip. I'd like to use FLIRC to be able to somehow target non frontmost windows on the second screen. Other times, I might want to run Plex or Kodi on that second screen. Just got two flircs yesteday and I've having problems. First thing was to teach it some keys from the sony remote for my tv. It worked great, including repeat on hold. Then I tried to teach it keys from my tivo peanut remote and that seemed to work ok, except that holding a button down does not cause the keypress to repeat, unlike the sony remote. I am using linux. Hi! I looked for a long time but I'm not sure what the issue is coming from exactly, so, finding an answer is quite difficult... My Flirc 1st gen is connected to my HTPC (Hipstreet PC2Go, copycat of Intel Computer Stick). I had no issues so far. I connected a Steam Link today to my TV. The Flirc has trouble getting UR from my remote. Sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't. When I disconnect power from the Steam Link : no issue. When I disconnect only the HDMI of Steam Link : no issue. Is it possible that there's interference with the HDMI cable? I tried my another HDMI cable (with ferrites) and the issue remain…

1) The app isn't working, at all. I was able to upgrade the firmware to 4.2.2 but I am not able to map any keys (it isn't registering any of my key presses) 2) I am trying to setup my Nexus Player so I first connected my keyboard to the Player to figure out all of the key commands and after a ton of searching I have no idea how to map a home button (I've tried everything, tab+esc, tab+alt, wink+esc) and I'm not sure what to do, this is all very overwhelming. I also noticed in Plex to go back you need to use Backspace but in every other app it is ESC to go back. 3) I would like to use my Logitech Harmony One+, and advice on how to set that up?

I have a problem while programming my flirc. I am able to program 4 or 5 keys, but after a few keys the failure-message is shown, that the key is already programmed. I have no chance to redo it, because the message won't dissapear. I have two flirc. One 1st gen and the new one 2nd gen. I have had no problems while programming the 1st gen one. Maybe there is a problem with the firmware or the software? I have already updated the firmware but no change.... Maybe anybody can help me with this problem...
