I inquired about the functionality of Flirc with the Apple remote before purchasing and received several assurances of compatibility, so I was a little surprised to see that no Apple remote option is listed in the Mac app controller list. Running firmware 4.9.3 and the Mac app I’ve only been able to get the directional buttons on the wheel to work using the minimalist controller setting. I’m only using the remote with VLC. Does anyone know how the pause/play (spacebar function) and enter buttons can be set correctly?

Hi i was the happy proprietary of a flirc for a year. It worked perfectly out of the box with the fw from APR/MAY 2014. Until 2 days ago when I had the bad idea of a fw upgrade to the last version..... Since that moment flirck stop working randomly... It is connected to an android STB (a K-R42 device) with Kodi (aka XBMC)... Initially, when is connect to the usb port of the android stb, it works well... But... few minutes after it stops working... If I unplug it and plug on my windows PC I can see the key map thorugh command line and If I open a notepad and use the remote controller I can see the typed keys.... Hello forum I bought a Flirc 2. Gen recently to use it with my OSMC (Kodi) on a Raspberry Pi 3 with the Logitech Harmony One Remote. Set up as described. But only a few buttons are actually working! Main buttons like navigation, play, stop works fine. But not even FF/Rewind or the step Fwd/Rew works as supposed. The "Power off" button just opens a window on which I have to scroll down to select the right comand and press ok again. The Harmony remote seems not to be able to shut down the device on this way in an activity, without a descrete "power off" comand. And there is not even a "Power on" button! Hi - I would like to add additional remote controls commands to my current configuration. I have a working configuration for my Nvidia Shield TV 2017, but I know there are other keyboard keys that aren't in the FLIRC GUI (primarily, the Android Menu and Google Search buttons). I have seen postings about HID codes and the FLIRC util. I have searched the forum, but I didn't find a consolidated posting that had instructions on how to identify USB keyboard codes and how to add them to an existing configuration with FLIRC Util. So I've been using the FLIRC for a year or two now once I got sick and tired of other wireless options always having one issue or another. I've been using it with an old Sony AV remote and it has mostly been okay except for some double key pressed every now and again. Well, I recently bought a Denon ABR-3301CI with a remote RC-1099 and I want to eliminate some remotes. So it seems this may be an issue; Gen1 Flirc with Win10. I already attempted to follow this thread to no avail. I will continue trpoubleshooting, but was wondering if there were any other things I could try? Would it help if I tried loading a Live USB of Ubuntu or something, and attempting to load up the software that way?

Hello I have a v1 flirc and it has worked great for years. Recently it started to not send (or receive, not really sure) commands correctly. I will have to push the button sometimes 9 times for the PC to respond. I have reinstalled the is (Debian Linux) and even tried it on multiple computers (various Linux distros) and still have the issue. It is not the remote as the tv and receiver react to every button press. Also every computer responds as it should to a keyboard so the issue appears to not be the computers but rather the flirc. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be

I just got a Flirc USB (new stainless steel version) and I would like to use it to control VLC Media Player on Windows 10. I’m using the “full keyboard” controller in the Flirc GUI. On USB keyboards, the keys on the numeric keypad (numbers, arithmetic symbols) send different codes than the same keys on the main keyboard. In VLC media player, pressing the + key on the keyboard’s numeric keypad speeds up playback. However, the Flirc GUI “full keyboard” controller does not include a numeric keypad, so I was wondering if there is any way to have Flirc send the codes for the numeric keypad keys.

Simple question first: Is there any way to prevent all button presses except one from waking up the Shield TV? Another simple question: Is there any way to program Flirc to ignore all IR codes except those that you assign to the Full Keyboard (by choosing letters/numbers and blasting the codes from the remote)? Hello community I have a flirc kodi rp4case and i love it :-) However, i'm planning on building an hyperion/amiblight project so i briefly need to open the case to access the GPIO to connect three wires. Can i open up the case an then close it again while not damaging the current thermal pad? Or do i need to replace it? And if so, where can i buy a new pad? Thanks for you attention and help!

Does the Gen1 flirc usb work with the current software? I cant get the software to recognise my flirc device in my computer. I have followed several guides on these forums and the support pages with no luck getting it to recognise, it just says "disconnected" My computer is Win10 pro and the flirc software version is 3.25.1. I bought my flirc back in 2012 and the old remote has finally stopped working so need to pair a new one to it. Thanks

So i use a first gen flirc with kodi on my HTPC controlled with a harmony 1100 remote. just in case the flirc ever decided to pack in, i purchased another The second Gen one however just will not work no matter what i set it to in the harmony software, whether i set it to 0 to 5 in troubleshooting there is no consistent fix i either get too many button presses, or hardly none at all the first gen flirc, no problems whatsoever, what changed??? I cant seem to get this programmed. I see some older threads with similar issues. I can bind a few keys, but eventually run into the Button already Exists bug. With any layout, for the arrows and OK, Prev, I can only get the following programmed. I'm on the latest download for the GUI/firmware. I have the metal model. Hi guys, I just re-installed my HTPC after some upgrades and also bought a used Logitech Harmony One to use with Flirc/Kodi. PC: Win 10 Pro 64bit with Kodi and latest version of Flirc (3.25.2) After installing Flirc and the drivers (took me a moment and I had to use Zadig) I was able to connect the remote and map the keys succesfully. I'm using my Flirc with a pre-written configuration with an OpenPeak Joggler that does everything I want it to apart from the power button.By this I mean the one that puts it into standby,i.e. pauses playback and switches the screen off.It won't take manual teaching of the power button either,is there a particular reason this one function doesn't work when all others do? I'm using a Logitech Squeezebox remote to teach it with which works with all the other functions,but not the main power switch.

Hi ya'll! Just got my Flirc and have already run in to a problem. I am recording commands with the "Full keyboard"-profile since I can get more commands that I actually want for Kodi than with the "Kodi"-profile. The issue I am having tough that the keyboard command for volume down in Kodi is "minus" and I don't know how to get one. When I hover with mouse pointer over the minusbutton in the GUI it says "dash" and Kodi doesn't lower the volume when that is recorded. Any ideas? /Dave

Using the FLIRC Configuration as a Amazon Fire TV I continously hit a Hard stop. The Configuration when started with GO always hits randomly a Key already Configured situation. I can' continue, redo or any thing. The Workaround is to manually delete the configuration, erase every Key manualy, which is the same Problem. Key already erased. Then program one key afer another. If the above situation starts, erase the Key Manually and try again. I loaded up the Flirc software for the first time in a while and it said there was an update available. I thought it couldn't hurt to update it, but it turns out it can. Ever since I updated it, my Logitech Harmony 650 remote doesn't work at all with it. It says it's connected on Flirc. When I open up the program and press buttons on my remote, the keys that are pressed aren't showing that they're being pressed but I can tell that it's being read by Flirc because it will say things like "recorded successful," "that button already exists," and "button erased" whenever I press a button on my Logitech. Hello, I bought the first gen Flirc years and years ago, but I haven't used it anymore for years now as well. I downloaded the software and it shows as 'disconnected'. I vaguely seem to remember I had some issues with it and that being the reason for not using it anymore. On Reddit somebody advised me to use it, so I thought I'd give it another try. But so far no luck... I looked at a few threads covering this issue, so I followed quite a few steps already. I also produced a log file as advised in one of those threads which is attached.
