General Questions

When I boot up Windows 10, I'm hitting the up and down arrows on my Harmony 650, but it doesn't scroll through the apps on the desktop. I need to grab a keyboard, highlight one of the apps, and then I can scroll through them with my Harmony. How can I get it so I don't need to use a keyboard at all?

I have set up flirc on windows 7, I have the harmony 650 remote control. I have gone through the relevant how to guides to set up flirc with harmony. When I open kodi, flirc is doing random left control, so if watching videos it is forever going backwards every couple of seconds, on menu's it is going into to setting, but essentially the command of left is just repeating itself. Any help please?

I'm hoping to use the Flirc so that a family member who is not comfortable with change can continue using the simple generic remote control they are used to ("GE Big Button" - 33701). I'm not trying to map all of the TiVo controls just a few select items. I've managed to get channel up/down mapped to "Page up" / "Page down" which mimics those buttons for them. But I'm missing is the volume controls. I haven't been able to find a button combination that controls volume so far. Just got a new android tv box to find out its remote isn't exactly ir compatible so I can't pair it to my logitech harmony remote as is. I was wondering if I could plug my flirc dongle (1st generation) into the box and make it work somehow? If anyone can help I'll be eternally grateful *Edit* I got the frirc dongle mostly working with my remote by setting the device as flirc and model as kodi in the logitech harmony software, but the back and home buttons don't seem to work. Is there another option I could try to get the buttons to function better?

Greetings, I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 that is running Plex Media Player embedded. It has a BIOS menu option to allow turning on the computer by pressing ALT+P on the keyboard when it is plugged into the correct USB port. This works perfect with a keyboard, but not with the FLIRC plugged into the same port. I've tried multiple ports; I've alternatively tried CTRL+P. Thank you for the help.

When I received my Raspberry Pi 4 case, one of the screws must have been cut incorrectly and won't thread in properly. I made a support ticket to resolve this issue months ago, but did not get a response. Does anyone know where anyone know where I can get a replacement screw?

Hi all, I have a new Nvidia Shield TV Pro that I am controlling with a Harmony 900 via the Flirc v2. My issue is that the Shield keeps switching itself on and off. This can shut off the Shield while I'm watching something, which is very frustrating. Sometimes it will turn itself back on immediately, but more often I manually turn it back on (with the Nvidia remote). The Shield can also turn itself on and off repeatedly from sleep while nothing else is turned on (I notice the light on top of the Shield going on and off). Good Evening, i bought a Xiaomi TV 4S (Android TV based). It's Bluetooth controlled. So i try Flirc to remote it with a Harmony One+. I tried several configurations in the harmony Software but no command reached the tv. Is there a Guideline/HowTo which are the first steps to do? Thanks in advance.

Hi! I just received my flirc case for the raspberry pi and upon receiving it when I tried installing the thermal pad thing it tore apart.. Is it necessary or do I need to go on ebay order a bunch of thermal pads? Any help is appreciated!

I am trying to configure FLIRC USB v2 with Kodi. It is all working fine apart from being able to use long-press of the Enter key to access the Context menu. I am using an LG Magic Remote programmed to emulate a Samsung Blu-Ray remote. If I use the original Samsung remote and long-press the Enter key, the context menu in Kodi appears ok. If I use the LG Magic Remote and long-press the Enter key it just acts like a short press of the Enter key. I think I need to assign the 'C' key to the long press of the Enter key but whenever I try and assign a command to the long-press of the Enter key I get a message indicating that it is expecting the second key (ma…

Hi all A new user and a new owner of Flirc V2, I am having problems trying to figrure Out how to shut my pc down using the logitech harmony hub with the IOS App. I can wake my pc no problem as any command key wakes the system but for the life of me i can not figure out how to shut down xbmc/kodi at all. All i want is to shutdown xbmc/kodi with a single command and also to create a activity in ios. I dont have a remote i just use ipad ios logitech harmony hub app and there does not seem to have any commands to shut a pc down xbmc/kodi power. I've trying to interface with a MiSTer (FPGA gaming device) and it requires keyboard shortcuts that only contain control keys without any normal keys. For example, one combination is LCtrl + RCtrl + RAlt. However, in the Flirc GUI it requires one normal key in additional to the control keys. Thanks for any help!

Hi, I just bought a Flirc to finally get control over my Xiaomi Laser TV. It is an Android TV based projector that I currently control using a Harmony Hub via Bluetooth, but the BT connection is not reliably established, so this is where Flirc shall get into the game. I was able to set up all keys using flirc_util recory_api and both the HID Keyboard/Keypad and Consumer pages from the Android documentation [ https://source.android.com/devices/input/keyboard-devices ] and the USB.oro and FreeBSD HID documentation except for the PowerOff button, that should put the device into standby mode. I'm trying to use a Silex DS-510 to allow me to network separate my PC and my Flirc over the LAN. The server sees the device just fine, but when I try to run the Flirc GUI to set up keys it crashes. We are deploying 150+ mini Windows 10 PCs that display a whiteboard and TV web app in hospital patient rooms. We built a configuration file for the USB dongle and include it in the deployment image, but have noticed that we have to manually apply the config file through the GUI whenever we install a box - is there a better way? Is the config file applied to the USB dongle itself? Will it "stick" if I unplug the dongle and plug it into a new box that has the flirc software installed? Is there any way to automate this deployment so the config file can be applied on first plugin? We have the rest of the windows image/build automated.

Hellou everyone. Bought 2 Flirc devices newer generation and they are just sitting now and catching dust. The Flircs specs say 1 IR transmitter, 1 IR receiver. Is it possible to catch the ON/OFF codes from my AC remote and try to turn ON/OFF my AC with FLIRC? Can someone tell me if that for some kinda reason is not possible? p.s. not at home to try it out... but was devastated after searching for options to Smartify my old AC, and I remembered that I have 2 flirc devices :) Anyways, thanks to anyone who responds

Howdy! I would like to have my Flirc USB automatically switch between saved configurations depending on which program is in focus on my Win 10 PC. More Info: I am using a Flirc USB on my Win 10 media center PC with the full keyboard GUI. I control the media center with a small wireless keyboard and mouse, as well as a simple Apple TV 2nd gen remote and a Harmony 650 programmable remote. Hi, I've configured a One For All remote with Flirc to replace an Nvidia Shield 2019 remote. My problem is that I configured a button in the remote using the long press option and now, if I leave the button pressed too long, it sends the command twice. So in the end, I need to release the button the moment I see the Shield react to the command to avoid this issue. I've also tested with Kodi and it does the same thing. Is this a known bug? Thanks.

Hi, I would like to verify, is it normal to have a small delay between key press and action triggered? It's a 500ms/1s delay for every press. I'm testing on a Nvidia Shield 2019 with a One For All Smart control universal remote configured with code 2051 (samsung). To give some more information, the USB slot in the Shield is place behind it so the Flirc is kind of hidden by the Shield. Also the Shield is placed underneath a Sony TV, just in case having the IR receiver of the TV just on top of it could cause any issue. Thanks.

Hey all, I'm new to Flirc so there is a high probability I am doing something wrong. However, I can't seem to figure out what that is. My ultimate goal is to get my URC MX-990 to control my Nvidia Shield 2017. My first attempt generally worked (except for the Back function) for about 24 hours, but suddenly it completely stopped responding. Hi all Let me start by saying I've never used the flirc v2 before, I'm looking for a bit of guidance. What I am trying to do: My idea was to connect the flirc to the ps/2 port in my PC, cause my motherboard only allows me to power on the PC from s5(complete shutdown) via ps/2. Via USB I can only wake it from S3. So, here's my question, has anyone tried connecting the Flirc v2 via a ps/2 to female USB adapter and getting it to work ? Thanks a lot.
