Is anyone able to comment on the compatibility of the new Flirc Raspberry Pi 4 Case with the Pimoroni OmniVESA? Looks like it was compatible with earlier versions.

So I am posting here since I don't really know where else to post. I am looking for a way to have my raspberry turn my old tcl tv on via IR commands. I heard a rumor that FLIRC has the ability to send commands on reddit, and would like to clarify this before I order one. My tv for lack of better words is a dumb TV, it does not support cec, auto power on when it gets power, wake on lan, ect. Ideally, I would like to program the pi to send a command to turn the tv on/off upon waking or going to sleep. I am not exactly interested in using a tv remote, and would much rather just use my cellphone to control this.

Hello, today I got my "New Flirc", I bought it directly from Flirc. OK, my device was pretty dirty and seems to be a used one, but it's not the problem. If I try to set up the buttons on my remotes, it does only work for 2-4 buttons, and then I get the message "Button already exists". What I've tried: Erased all buttons;Cleared the configuration;Forced firmware update.Remotes I've tried: Samsung TVOnkyo AV-ReceiverLogitechSqueezeboxXiaomi TV-BoxApple Remote (white)Computers I use: Mac MiniiMacMacBook Air.Thank you in advance.

Hello friends I'm new to the community I’ve had the flirc for about two years now. My computer recently crashed. I have a new computer arriving today. Is the configuration loaded onto the flirc or will I have to set it up again from scratch?

Hello, My new FLIRC often doesn't register key presses. I have to press for example the "Up" key about 10 times until something happens. Sometimes it is more responsive, but then it tends to register one click as a double-click. I already disabled all the profiles in the advanced settings, this did not help. Any suggestions? I'm using FLIRC v.2 with the newest firmware. System is a NUC7PJYH, running the latest LibreELEC/ Kodi. I tried various remotes without any success, both an universal remote and normal TV remotes. A Logitech keyboard, connected via USB IR receiver works just fine.

Hi everyone, I have a FLIRC for my Win 7 xbmc box and it works great. I recently installed a very recent build (XBMC 12.2) of OpenELEC on my Raspberry PI. I took the fully functioning FLIRC dongle from my Win 7 box and plugged it in to the RPI (before turning it on). I cannot get the device to recognize FLIRC and respond to my remote commands. I searched around and know people have this type of setup working, I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I've updated the FLIRC firmware to one of the recent Alpha builds (most recent I think) so everything is as up to date as I can get it. At this point I'm looking for any troubleshooting suggestions. Are there…

Hi there, I am using the Flirc PS4 controller preset to try to control PS Vue on a PS4 with my Logitech Harmony 1100 remote. Programming of the Flirc seems to work only for certain keys on this preset -- the arrow keys seem to work (all except the up key) and the Enter key, but the Play, Pause, Stop, etc. keys all don't seem to bind properly. This is sort of hard to explain but this is what I'm doing and what I see: Start up Flirc software Select Controllers > PS4 Connect Flirc device Click the play button on the Flirc software window, or Click up button in Flirc window Flirc enters recording mode Tap my Play button on the …

Hi all, I bought a Flirc SE. It works great for controlling Kodi, etc. However, I'm trying to use the "SE" functionality of it and actually have it power off/on the computer. When I go into the Flirc software though, to bind power toggle to a button on my harmony remote, the software says that the Flirc is disconnected, in the title bar. Which is weird, given that it definitely works. I've tried fully uninstalling/reinstalling the software and drivers, but no luck. Anything I can try?

Hi, I have a Google Pixel 2, which sends constant IR signals through it's proximity sensor when the phone's screen is off, or on the lockscreen. It goes away if I put my finger in front of the proximity sensor. Can I ignore these signals in flirc somehow? This causes delays/lags with the remote control, every time I want to use my remote, I need to flip my phone, so my desk would block the proximity sensor. Any way to solve this?

In the user guide is states: "To suspend the shield or put it in a sleep state, use the Media Keys controller and record the Wake/Suspend key as shown below." I don't understand what this means. What am I recording to the "Wake/Suspend" key? The sleep command from the Nvidia Shield TV side is a selection in the settings menu so as far as I know, no IR command is being sent from the remote. What do I need to record to make with work? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm having issues with my FLIRC Gen 1. I'm setting up my keys with Full Keyboard presets and a remote and testing with my Raspberry Pi with LibreELEC and everything works fine... for some minutes. After like 3 minutes my FLIRC not only stops aswering the keys, but also "forgets" all the keys that i mapped and i have to map everything again. Whenever i map, i straight test with my Macbook Pro and the keys are working just fine, then i put it in my Raspberry Pi and after some minutoes it stops working, and when i plug it again in my Macbook Pro, the keys also doesn't work on the mac anymore. Is there anything that could be causing my FLIRC to just forget th…

Is there any v2 version of the Flirc SE planned? I'm very intrigued about: LONG KEY PRESSES Assign two functions to one button. Press the button for one function, hold down the button for the other function. Now possible with our new powerful arm processor. MACROS Want to run a number of commands on a key press? With the new flirc, you can store over 500 keys, and have more than one keypress per individual remote button. P.S. if there will be one released: please make the PCB black so that it can match the rest of my systems' internals. :)

I just got a flirc 2. Using it on a PI 3 running Kodi 18. I have successfully mapped buttons that are working in Raspbian Pixel desktop. They also seem to work in Kodi—except ENTER. Nothing I map to ENTER in the FLIRC GUI will send an ENTER command to Kodi correctly. it is crazy because I can see ENTER working fine in a terminal window. I open a command prompt, press my enter key on my remote, FLIRC receives this and lo and behold, I see the command prompt go to a new line. By that account it seems to work. So I launch Kodi and my other nav buttons work, but ENTER does not. Yet, I know Kodi is ready for ENTER because I have a physical keyboard connected for testing …

I am using Flirc to control Shield TV, I have Shield and Kodi profile and using Harmony 665. Suddenly I cannot control Shield anymore. Harmony is sending something according to its screen. But it Shield does not respond. I connected to PC and tried IR debugging, something is seen in the logs. Love the case. My question is swapping/replacing boards in the case. I have the 2nd gen case with a RPI Model 3B, I want to swap it out and with a Model 3B+. I hear the thermal pad will need to be replaced with a thinner pad. Where can I get thermal pads for both Model 3B or Model 3B+ (I live in Canada)? What should I be looking for? P.s. I not much of a hardware guy, so I don't have any experience with Thermal Paste/Grease. Is this a good alternative? Please advise.
