  1. Started by Sammy,

I have several of my AndroidTV boxes (MiBox s) set up using Kodi as the Harmony device. I got one more box and went to set up a flirc for it and am running into issues. Not only did I not get the new one set up, now I've managed to bork two of the ones I had set up. I'm wondering if the f/w update is to blame but at any rate I have one set up and went into CLI to check the settings using flirc_util.exe settings and this is what I'm seeing. Is this correct? 3.25.3 FW Version: v4.9.3 SKU: Flirc 2.0 [dori] Branch: master Config: release Hash: 0xCB185BDE Settings: sleep detection: always enabled noise canceler: always enabled inter-key dela…

  2. Hi Macbook air running 10.15.3 using flirc_util 3.25.3 with hardware version 4.9.3. Trting to use the CLI to install a macro but I cannot get all command to work. Version and help are fine but when I try to use flirc_util eys I get the response "device disconnected, can't run command" but flirc is connected and recording standard buttons is fine. Tried removing and reconnecting the usb device but it is the same. Any command that requires a response from the dongle gives the same response. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

  4. Started by amcfarla,

I am trying to download the latest version of the software for Windows and both Firefox and Chrome are saying it is a virus. I have tried it on two separate machines and it is the same on both. Unsure what is going on since I have not had this problem before with downloads from your site.

  5. To change the viewed channel on Kodi with a keyboard it is necessary to use the up and down buttons to find the channel then press enter to select it. Kodi changes to the channel and after a short delay, removes the information pane from the screen. I am trying to reproduce this behaviour with Flirc. I started by programming the up button with "up" then programming the same button with a Long Press for "enter" and that worked fine. When I tried the same with the down button I kept getting this: ~ % flirc_util record down Press any button on the remote to link it with 'down' Succesfully recorded button ~ % flirc_util record_lp return Press any butto…

Dear site admins, you really should fix the https / TLS setup of your site. It is currently not working and passwords sent over non-secure http is not recommended.

  7. Started by Redmo,

I have successfully programmed the flirc usb from a windows 10 laptop. I verified the programming using the GUI and all is ok. I then connected the flicr to a raspberry Pi4 and was able to communicate properly with it. However, when I power down and back up again, the flirc is losing some keys and I have to reprogram. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello With my new Harmonie Elite with HUB I cannot control my "Sunrise" UHD TV Box. Then I bought a new FLIRC. When installing on Windows with the new version v3.35.3 and also the new firmware v.4.9.3 nothing went. What do I have to do, what happens next? Sorry I'm not a professional. Kind regards.

  9. I received my Flirc this morning. Syncing to my remote control was a breeze. But I'm trying to optimize things. Right now Flirc is plugged into my Raspberry Pi 3 running Kodi. Generally I leave my Raspberry Pi on all the time. Which means, if I'm using my TV on another application like Netflix (which runs from an app on the TV) I have to press the arrow keys and enter keys to navigate. Since Flirc is still plugged in and the Pi is on, this means that while I'm browsing Netflix I am also blindly navigating around Kodi files and settings. Obviously there's a potential for something to go horribly wrong here. Is there a way for my Pi to know when to not receive sig…

  10. Started by FlipperBizkut,

How do I go about starting from scratch? I want to make it to where I go into the GUI and program only the keyboard keys that I want Flirc to recognize and nothing else. For example, if I just wanted Flirc to recognize my remote's up, down, left, and right commands, and I map them to the up, down, left, and right of the full keyboard in the GUI, I would want to make sure that no other commands my remote sends are inadvertently mapped to anything else (i.e. menu on my remote isn't mapped to delete on the full keyboard). Is this possible? Just simply telling Flirc to ignore everything that I didn't explicitly map? And starting from Flirc ignoring everything?

Hi, of the 4 screws that came with my case, one does not seem to work properly. Can you tell me (and future visitors of this post) the type of screw you used so I can get a replacement at my local hardware store? Other than that, I really love the case! Great work!

  12. My setup includes NVidia Shield and FireTV with Logitech harmony elite remote. This is how they are currently added to Harmony. Shield + FLIRC 1 : programmed into harmony as: Mfgr: FLIRC, Model: Shield FireTV + FLIRC 2 : programmed into harmony as: Mfgr: FLIRC, Model: FireTV Everything works well, but when I try to control either device, both devices react to commands, I am guessing IR codes may be common for these devices. I have been reading this forum hoping to find a solution to get rid of this interference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I use Flirc with the newest firmware and software from the website. I use keyboard strokes with a remote, to run shortcuts on the desktop So for example: Control+alt+j is linked to a shortcut which runs a batch file, this is in flirc linked to a button on my audio remote. However, after I have learned flirc the remote keys, it keeps repeatedly and infinitly sending the keystrokes. In my case it will start the batch file like every 2 seconds for like hours. I tried different IR remotes with it, does not make a difference. Any clues?

  14. I realise I'm at risk here, because this topic may sound a lot like the 'delay' and 'repeating keys' issues. However, I really think this is different. And I hope there's help out there! I often (have not yet found the trigger that causes this) have the following: I press my Harmony remote button with an XBMC (Flirc in combination with RaspBMC) command, and then the XBMC goes crazy because it starts receiving repeated commands from the Flirc. I have checked the harmony: it is NOT sending out multiple commands (you can see the IR signal when looking at it through an iPhone camera). If during these repeated commands I simply pull the flirc out of the raspberry pi, then…

I have the new Flirc with the IR transmitter and I have been looking for instruction on how to program the IR to control power and volume for my TV, haven’t been able to find anything. Can someone please send me or direct me to a set of instructions I could use? Thx

  16. I have an industrial application in which I use a linux pc kiosk, flirc, and a custom remote control. The remote control presses get intercepted by xbindkeys which then runs the appropriate scripts, pyrhon program, etc. It works very well and I love flirc! Thank you for all your hard work! I am looking to expand my program functionality without adding extra buttons to my remote control. I would love if I could assign the modifier “shift” or “ctrl”, etc to a remote button but WITHOUT any other associated actual keyboard key. I would loved to assign just the naked modifier alone. The idea would be that it would work just like on a keyboard. On this new hypothetica…

  17. Started by JVK,

Hello! Just got my first Flirc and I set it up using the PS4 preset with my universal remote, but the keys I've assigned to 'Enter' and the directional arrows don't work on Blu-Rays or DVDs, only the basic PS4 menu screens. I also programmed some buttons like the PS button and it seemed to take, but then it didn't work when I tried it on the Playstation. Couldn't get the "back" or Circle control programmed either which is super-necessary on the PS4. I've been using the Blu-link VP3700 for a few years now with my home theater; we had been using a PS3 for our Blu-ray player and now I've moved on to a PS4 for that and so the dedicated PS3/Bluetooth button on that r…

  18. hi folks, I have the newest model nvidia shield and i control it via a logitech harmony remote. I do almost all of my content consumption in Plex. To that end, I have a couple of questions: 1) Is it possible, with FLIRC, to get it so that I can hit a button on my logitech remote to toggle the subtitles without having to go into the Plex UI and navigate manually? I ask because I used flirc back in the day with my windows based HTPC and it worked great. I'm not sure if this is a plex issue or an android tv issue so I really want to make sure it works for my specific situation. 2) If the answer is yes to the first one - would I need to configure all of my acti…

  20. Started by Da4id,

I am having a hard time getting "sendir" to work. Or rather, I am able to send IR signals, but they don’t do what I expect them to. What’s really confusing me is that what I’m sending doesn’t seem to be what the log is showing was sent. Here is what I did. I pointed my remote at the flirc device, and pressed a button on my remote. A number of patterns came out, separated by :e: - I'm assuming each pattern is an alternate pattern? Then I tried sending these patterns through flirc using flirc_util sendir. I kept the log open during this sending, but the pattern that was being logged didn’t match the pattern I was sending. I tried sending each of the patterns one b…

  21. I bought this to replace my ancient MS Microsoft Media Center PC dongle that I have used with both a MS Media Center Remote AND the MS Media Center Keyboard for years. Now I find out that the advertised MS Media Center support is limited to the small remote. While you can go through the laborious process of key mapping to get the keyboard to function--the remote does not support the built-in nipple mouse of the MS keyboard. (And BTW having to map a full keyboard is just ridiculous--Apple can ID a keyboard by getting you to press two keys; Logitech can do the unified remote now with no clicking involved.) I suggest that your advertising needs to be changed to …

  22. Hi, I purchased my FLIRC a few weeks ago, and am just now able to figure out how to pair a Harmony remote to it by adding it as its own device. Now I'm wondering if I have my Harmony registered, does that become the ONLY device FLIRC can recognize? In other words, would it be possible for the one FLIRC to recognize my remote as well as a keyboard and a mouse? If possible, I'd like to be able to declutter some of my USB dongles, but from what I understand, FLIRC does not do this, correct? If it does, please let me know how.

  23. Started by wayneg,

Says I have a newer firmware than software supports, v.3.110 on device and V3.9.0 GUI supported. But when I attempt to download software (v.3.22.4 from one link, v.3.25.3 from another) they are both reported as having a virus. Being stubborn I went ahead and forced the DL, but when I attempted to run it I got a message stating that it wasn't compatible with Windows (I'm on Win10 FWIW). Any suggestions? Thanks.

  24. Started by Wheeker,

Already posted in "How to" but perhaps it is better suited in this sub-forum? So I just bought a new Flirc Streacom Edition from Overclockers UK for my Streacom FC5 Evo case. AFAIK it is installed correctly, there is a constant blue light emitted from it when pc is powered on. I am running W7 64bit. However the flirc GUI says "Disconnected" & under Device Manager flirc is listed under Other Devices & has the yellow warning traingle beside it. This would suggest to me that the driver has not been installed correctly. I have tried uninstalling, deleting flirc folder & then reinstalling the flirc software a few times but no joy. The flirc website…

  25. Started by Unky,

I inquired about the functionality of Flirc with the Apple remote before purchasing and received several assurances of compatibility, so I was a little surprised to see that no Apple remote option is listed in the Mac app controller list. Running firmware 4.9.3 and the Mac app I’ve only been able to get the directional buttons on the wheel to work using the minimalist controller setting. I’m only using the remote with VLC. Does anyone know how the pause/play (spacebar function) and enter buttons can be set correctly?
