Hi, I installed a raspberrypi 5 with LibreELEC + Skip 1s + Flirc USB. Skip 1s is configured to handle Kodi navigation and TV sound. All is working great but I have a problem when I connect a bluetooth headset to the raspberry pi. I don't know how to configure Skip 1s in order to manage the bluetooth headset volume. Can you provide me with some help. Thanks a lot.

I just purchased a Skip 1s remote for use a media controller for my Dell Windows 11 PC. I have a Flirc USB attached to the PC. But when I click on "PC" under the "Do you want to set up a new device?" option in the wizard, I am only given four options for the brand: BenQ, Elgato, Flirc, and MadVR. None of these are PC brands never mind Dell and I've tried all of them and none of them do anything. This seems like a simple task, what am I doing wrong?

^ What the title says. Got my remote yesterday, had it up and running in a few minutes. Using it to controlling my HTPC (with Flirc USB) and my Yamaha receiver. Easy set-up. Can't wait to explore more! Also like the quality of the remote as it feels solid & well built. Much thanks for filling a much needed void in the marketplace.

I've been looking for a replacement for my Harmony Hub and this sounds perfect.. .. except 2 things. I can't quite find a definitive answers, lots of "in the future" comments. 1) Does it support Long Press as alternate action on buttons? The reason is that I need a few extra quick access keys including Subtitles On / Off and Audio Track change. 2) Does it support more than 2 activities? I need 4, long press on the activities button would be fine if that works?

I tried adding an LG tv, a Samsung tv, and an Oppo bluray player with 0.9.966 and nothing worked at all. Switching to 0.9.965.7561-Learning completely fixed the issue but the primary reason I bought this remote was to be able to learn the remote for my pre-amp the only relevant buttons are vol+, vol-, and mute. None of them worked and threw the error "We're having trouble recording this button. This button will not work, but our team will be notified to look into this. Right now volume buttons do nothing.

I have had my Skip 1s for about a week and I got a Sofabaton X1 yesterday and set it up last night. I have to say that I'm underwhelmed by the X1. The Skip 1s feels good in the hand. The buttons work well. It seems to have the right number of buttons. I like that it has a number pad. But it's not crowded and not overly minimal. Seems to have that aspect just right. The quality feels very good. The software to set things up is reasonably easy to use. There are some things missing, but it sounds like those things will be added in the future. I have found that the media and volume keys dont work with the default preset on the flirc usb with the skip 1s. I have currently fixed this by mixing the keys provided for the kodi profile to get these keys working (also nice as I get extra keys, even tho these map to keyboard keys) and the shiled profile for power, back and home. Also wanted to add this is a great device and I immediately bought as soon as I saw linux support and how active the development is.

My comparison is using a One For All remote that I have now, that can control 6 devices and has smart control to do combination of devices (3 groups = 3 activities skip remote). The bad thing that the layout of the combination I can't edit what to share on that mode, so I'm looking if Skip remote as an alternative. The idea is to never use the original device remote control except for very unusual interaction that buttons are not mapped on my universal control. Hi! Have started to play around with the linux appimage and it looks good! Had to add the following udev rule to enable the remote in the app though. SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", ATTRS{idVendor}=="20a0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0008", MODE="0666" Added the above line to a file named /etc/udev/rules.d/99-flirc.rules and reloaded the rules with udevadm control --reload-rules && udevadm trigger as root. Now the remote shows up as "connected" in the app.

Thought I'd try updating the firmware. Oh dear. Grabbed the update app for MacOS, which - on Sonoma at least - is a dmg file that cointains a shortcut to Applications and a Contents folder (usually wrapped inside an .app). I ran the executable from the MacOs subfolder, which successfully detected the remote and allowed the firmware to be uploaded. This failed - there was an error about boot loaders which unfortunately I didn't capture as I didn't anticipate any problems! Now no device is detected, and the remote flashes 3 red lights on button press. Reading the advice on the forum that I should be able to recover from this in the app proper, I quit the updater …

So, this makes no sense, given what I know about manufacturers using the same codes across multiple devices... Got the Skip Remote thinking that it would be perfect for a small basement system. I only need to control a Sony TV and a sound system headed by the new Emotiva XDA-3. I've been able to control the TV, so I've gotten the Skip to sync. BUT, no matter what Emotiva device I pick, including a choice for XDA series, I can't get the Emo to work. I only need power on/off, volume up/down, and a couple inputs... simple right? HaHa!! At least power and volume should be a no brainer regardless of Emo device, but man, I can't get anything to work!

I wonder if there is a case that fits the Tinkerboard.

There will be support for more than 3 activities? It would be simple to select 6 activities via short or long press on A-B-C buttons, for instance. It is planned?

I'm creating this post in the hope that it may provide some assistance to another user or perhaps developers, depending on how much of my challenges are due to my own stubbornness to ask for help on a forum. We received the Skip1 several weeks ago and this has been my experience with configuring it for our Samsung TV and Apple TV. - Connected remote according to instructions, except for the "test" step. - All the programmed functions initially worked for the Samsung TV. When attempting to add the Apple TV to the same "Activity A", button functions became crossed up in the Apple TV interface. For example, any use of the back button would exit the Apple TV interface…

My Nividia Shield (Flirc Nvidia Gen2) has been powering on when not included in an activity. I did some tests and found Philips TV (code group4) to be the culprit and concluded they must use the same power on code. Unfortunately both use a power toggle rather than separate on off codes. My original TV remote also now powers on the Shield. Strangely, it is OK the other way round. Powering on Flirc Nvidia Gen2 causes the TV power light to flash, but not power it on or off. Has anyone else run into similar issues and found any suitable workarounds. I have a home which is HomeKit enabled using Lutron caséta switches/dimmers. Can you control Lutron or HomeKit scenes with the Skip 1s? how do you configure the remote? If not just a config issue, what additional hw pieces might I need). Ideally, it would be nice to get a bridge into HomeKit to setup single button key presses. TIA -- Eric

Hi I'm trying to use the Skip1 to control a LG Smart TV but I only can turn on/off, Channel change... but not to access to smartTV options. Is it possible... or would it in the future? Thank you in advance

How do I get this thing to consistently send power on or power off with the same keypresses? It seems like A and then power does on, and A+power does off, except sometimes it switches? This all needs to be predictable if my family is going to use it. Also, how do I have it wait 30 seconds or so to send the HDMI command after powering on the TV?

After being somewhat frustrated with the whole 'Activity' debacle, I decided to reset my Skip 1s and restart. I primarily use a Nvidia Shield and use Kodi to watch/stream any content out here. I rarely watch TV. I do have a TV (Samsung 85QN900A) and used its remote, through HDMI-CEC to control Kodi. However, its one of those minimalist remotes with only a few (programmable) buttons. Too few to control Kodi the way I want to. I can't find the Logitech (Slimserver) Squeezebox device in any of the categories. This is essential for me. And in addition, I need to know how to set up my activity of TV + Tivo without turning the Tivo power off/on. In my system, Tivo remains always on. Thanks! pbroughton
