It would be supper awesome and supper useful to be able to use the Skip1 remote with IrScrutinizer in linux. Currently I use my iquanair to use IrScrutinizer to write and read ircodes into and out of lirc. I have a project on github I am working on lirc-web-remote you might want to check out. iguana works stopped producing their iguanair and I need a new thing to recommend. It would also be awesome to use the Skip1 with irsend with lirc or have a command line tool that acts similar to it. ie ability to query understood remotes and their ir signal name, be able to send a remote and corresponding ir signal name.

Having activity profile buttons that can't be assigned is quite restrictive, however if you could assign another button to swap between activity profiles, it would go a long way towards fixing this. I have my remote set up with activity A being watch TV and activity B being streaming. Both activities use the TV and Soundbar but watching TV requires the Set Top Box remote and streaming requires the Shield TV remote. When I want to change between tv and streaming remote profiles, I use channel down to switch to the streaming input or channel up to switch to the TV input because there is no need for anything to be powered on or off. Are there any plans to provide more (virtual) buttons, for example by being able to assign a 2nd function for physical butons (as for color buttons)? Thank you!

While testing the Manhattan remote (thank you for helping with the codes). I noticed an issue. Because the skip remote has a single Play/Pause button (that works on so many devices), what happens to those like the Manhattan that has distinct codes for Play and Pause. The only idea I came up with, was if the remote can toggle between Play and Pause - so sending out different codes on each press. To help sanity would suggest when an activity is started it defaults to Play when you start the activity.

Would be great to be able to do the device test/maybe have a virtual Skip remote option that can tie in with the FLIRC dongle and its transmitter. Don't have a Skip yet but would love to test out a few configurations before deciding.

I’ve seen a similar feature recommended for the remote that’s basically a “shift” key modifier to the base 3 activity’s. However, I was thinking more app side being able to make multiple activities and just setting three as the three buttons or having it possible to download and upload specific activity files, not just the entire remote. A bonus function of downloading and uploading would be you’d be able to back up specific activities before messing with them. That way I would be able to have my 3 main activities and be able to swap out my third activity for a test activity in between testing sessions.

With the evolving use of the learning functionality, it would be helpful if we could export and import our custom devices so that we can back them up and transfer them to others who need them.

I suspect this is an easy one, currently you can assign a remote code, to only 3 buttons? Can this be more? Why a limit? It's rare I agree, but if you were wanting to reset an activity start and finish with "Menu home" of a device, but that's also used in two places elsewhere on the remote you cant (The example of this is the roku, by default the wizard assigns home to the Home and List buttons on the skip).

I really like the remote and I have things setup mostly how I want, it's just changing between the activities that feels wrong. It could be so right if I could run some actions when changing (A,B,C buttons), but I've had to assign actions to buttons 1,2,3 on each activity and press one of those as well as the activity switch each time, which is maybe okay for me to deal with, but I know that any guests are going to struggle :)

To operate logically and according to the user's expectations (from the perspective of a Harmony user), the Skip1s needs to: - Store the state information about the devices it last set - The activity buttons need to be changed so that they can be programed to also initiate the activity The existing activity button functionality only sets the remote's buttons to correspond to given devices for control after which the power button is used to carry out the activity. Good morning everyone, I've recently received my Skip 1s and Flirc USB and have some ideas/suggestions/questions. For that to make sense, I'll need to write a bit about how I came to make this post. Background story I found out about the Skip 1s online and think it looks amazing, the Flirc USB also looks great and the feature set of both devices good (especially since it has Linux support, which is a killer feature for me, as a daily Linux user). The Harmony remote of a "friend" broke and I want to replace it, to make his/her life a lot simpler. With the App, it seems to resync so fast, its sometimes not clear if a change has been made. So would be be possible to either have a resync key, so we can manually do this, or have it manual so you always have to click sync.

I was not a Kickstarted. I never signed up to be a beta testers so please, no one tell me I should have expected so many missing GUI features. I have used and "liked" (not loved) numerous Logitech Harmony remotes and their software over the past 15 years or so. It would be helpful for the Buttons Panel to have alphanumeric search for the list of available buttons, like there is with the device selection lists, or at least a scrollbar. The list of available buttons can be pretty extensive for some devices and cumbersome to scroll through manually. Thanks

Hi there In the buttons panel, we have 1 icon for 5 buttons. To make easier to see where a command is assigned to, I propose 5 different icons that put the button in gray, that is used for a specific command.

I use a Mac and note that the Skip app's "Quit Skip App" menu command has the "CMD-Q" keystroke greyed out. Any reasoning behind this at this time??? qb

Is it possible to additionally make the colour button ON/OFF (pull down menu - Timer or always ON or OFF); a manual selection? We currently have a set time to press the colour wheel before it reverts to the standard assigned cursor. I would like this feature so that I can use the cursor for two different remote tasks within the same profile, but not just as quick key assignment. Also the centre of the colour wheel would also be functional, it did not seem to work for me in colour mode. If you have any further question or I have not been clear enough, please let me know. I think the app calls it the stream key (multi coloured button above Mute). If I understand it, that enables you to bind new remotes onto the direction keys. Would it be possible to be able to enable it so you could add extra functions to any key on the remote.

I was just logging a possible problem with a remote, and wanted to share the version of firmware etc and I had to either screen shot/crop and post an image or manually type the info (with possible typo's). So is it possible to make any useful information, you'd want, when we log a problem, something we can highlight/copy to make it easier for us to post details.

So on Dish Network set top box, they have a button that says "find my remote" once pressed, it pings the remote and makes it audibly beep until it is located and a button is pressed on it. It was an INCREDIBLY helpful feature, one that I was hoping to find on the 1s. If there is anyway to make the remote make a sound and a way to trigger that from a smartphone or computer or SOMETHING, that would be really cool. A feature to make it so you can find a missing remote via pressing a button on your smartphone or computer.

As I understand it, we have to click a button, what opens a field, where we drag the command from the left side into it. Would it be possible, to drag the command directly to the button, so we could save one step? Clicking on the button would have still the same function as now.

Promise last idea for the day (hopefully). When creating a power up macro, there are times it would be nice to wait for x seconds before doing the next step. The example would be a tv that takes 20 seconds to power up, then select the desired hdmi input.

Maybe I've missed something, but on occasion it would be nice to just assign devices, and either have no actions pre-assigned or a way to clear all buttons so you can have a clean slate. Edit: Ah just found it in the Management Section... might be worth having a link to that from the button screen as well or maybe merging this with the editing. While the Tips is nice, after a while that's just wasted space, so maybe the some of those management tools could be a presented there (have the Tips as a collapsible with the "tools" as a second item below it.
