hi, I have a linux system (opensuse) with 2 video outputs. One per hdmi to a LG TV of 50 "where almost always only kodi is displayed and another output to a 22" monitor that is the one that I use with opensuse daily. I have Flirc gen1, the one that comes in the Streacom box. Flirc is programmed with the keyboard commands that kodi uses, but if I want to use kodi and any other application of opensuse, for example surfing the network, it becomes a little complicated. For example, if I'm browsing with Firefox over the network, firefox has the focus, and if my child is with the remote and gives the arrow up, firefox goes up and kodi does not know. My son asks, what happe…

I'm trying to set up my Harmony One & 900 to work with my Windows 10 laptop music server, specifically Media Monkey. The only things that seem to work is the Play, Pause, OK & the up & down arrow keys. The Back button skips back a few second & the Skip button brings up the Search function, not what it's supposed to do, but that's about all that works. None of the soft keys work and many of the hard keys don't even send a signal at all. Has anyone set up their system to work with MediaMonkey, JRiver or foobar or any similar program.

Hi, i set up my remote a couple of years ago. Is there a way to display what key strokes are mapped to a button on the remote? i've updated my video player and lost my custom key mapping. I'd rather update the player's mapping rather than change the remote. i was able to find a lot of the keys mapped to the remote by opening notepad and pressing the buttons on the remote. is there a way to read the filrc file? thanks, vic

What do you guys use or have setup on your (old) Harmony One for the Firetv home and menu button? I think I have everything but the Home and Menu buttons setup on mine. I can usually use the exit button but sometimes I have to break out the Fire remote to access those two buttons. Is there a way to assign a soft key for these two?

If you have been wondering on how to make Kodi work with Flirc and Harmony remotes to automatically suspend without you having to call up the shutdown menu or be stuck with the other methods that limit suspend commands to the home screen of Kodi this is how to do it with Kodi v15 at time of writing. Thx to GoodOmens for the tip though his info is a little out of date now so this is a guide on how to do it all. Kodi/Openelec Go to system information and make a note of it's IP address Turn on SSH in Kodi services Harmony Software Devices Flirc Media Player Change Device Settings Power Settings I want to turn this device off when not in use I press the same button for on…

I need an easy way to exit Kodi automatically while switching off the TV. Family members switch off the TV with the remote but forget to exit Kodi. This eats up my daily GB allowance whic would normally be sufficient (but not for a full night fetching data!). Ideally the shutoff button of my TV should exit the Kodi on the Raspberry Pi app. But in the Flirc setup I can't find a way to map that (only the arrow, select etc as in the minimalist controller). My remote is a Samsung BN59-00684B. I though of other options, such as setting the sleep timer in Kodi or using a standby killer (disconnects power from TV and RP upon standby, this requires reboot of RP at start), bu…

Hello, I'm a newbie and I bought a flirc 2gen to extend my wetek hub functionality. It is sitting next to my cubox-i. Problem is I control my cubox-i with a MCE windows remote and Flirc receive those commands. I'd like flirc to receive only instructions from the remote I used to acquire commands so remote of one device doesn't mess with other device. Is that possible? Thanks Giorgio

I have tried to access my Flirc on 3 computers, but none recognize the device. The computers are a Windows 7 machine, MacBook and Windows 10. I tried manually installing the drivers and using the Zadig utility, but since it only shows an "unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)" I am unsuccessful. Also, my understanding is that the Flirc is shipped with the XBMC setup. I plugged it into my Openelec Kodi machine, and after programming my Harmony 650 Remote for the Flirc, It did not respond to any inputs from the remote. It looks to me that I have a defective device. What can I do next?

So I just recently got a Nvidia Shield and Flirc and set it up with my Harmony 1100 remote I have a 4K Sony and a Denon AVR. At initial setup everything seemed to work fine and I could control the shield properly; however I noticed as I switched inputs the TV would switch from the AVR to the TV speakers and I would constantly have to change it back manually. I discovered by turning Bravia Sync off this would fix this; however the Shield will not turn off now. Is there a way to program the Shield to turn off with the Flirc and my Harmony 1100 remote? Thanks in advance.

Hi I am setting up two Raspberry Pi 3's to be used as media players connect to a projector in the ceiling which will be mostly inaccessible. Can i use a Flirc IR Usb with a remote to shut down the raspberry Pi, I know it won't power up the device but I have a separate wireless power adapter to kill the power and switch it back on. While the video is playing I want to map two Raspberry Pi terminal commands to one remote control button press. first is sudo supervisorctl stop video-looper which I have shortened to stopvid then the normal shut down for Raspberry Pi which is sudo shutdown -h now Apologies if this is posted somewhere else already. Cheers. Richard.

Hey guys, I really need some help since I tried endless attemps to set this one thing up and just couldn't do it: power on the htpc. I use Linux Mint on a Intel Nuc (the one without IR) and a Flirc to control Kodi. How do I set it up to power on the Htpc from Power off mode? Is it possible? I tried different step-by-step guides but so far it never worked! Thanks in advance and best regards from Switerland!

I use Flirc with a Mac and I love it, except for one thing... if my Mac's monitor is asleep, pressing a button on my remote wakes my monitor instead of executing the assigned hotkey. I'd like to be able to have my monitor stay asleep.

I have a MacBook and a silver Apple TV remote. I wanted to use this remote the same way with my MacBook that it would work on a MacMini. I just got a Flirc receiver and tried setting it up, but I don't see a controller profile (or even a combination of profiles) that will make my Apple remote act the same way as it would on a MacMini. Is this possible? I'm also running EyeTV 3 and want the Apple remote to act the same way it would on the MacMini with EyeTV. However, besides the volume buttons, none of the other buttons act the same way. In particular, the left and right arrow seem to work inconsistently... sometimes it changes the channel other times it skips to live…

Good Evening! We are having a bit of an issue here that hopefully this product can help. We have software that needs to be manually installed in each firestick. The only problem is we have to use several different remotes on several different monitors and TVs. We are looking for a solution where we are able to control multiple fire sticks with one remote and essentially only have one connected to a monitor. The rest would be simply connected to power. We are simply looking for ways to improve our process. Please let me know if you have any questions I've done my best of my abilities to explain this clearly. Thank you. Sincerely, The Gizmo Geeks Team
