So, here is my issue: some time ago I made my entire setup with XBMC, flirc and Logitech Harmony One working perfectly for me. Over time I discovered, that I need to map just one more key on the remote (change existing assignment that is duplicated to one more key, that was not yet programmed). Problem is that I completely lost my original config file (during my PC crash). Is it possible to delete an reprogram just one key mapping without wiping out configuration that already exist? I do not want to start from scratch...

These are instructions that worked for my ubuntu 12.04-based XBMC HTPC. None of the other howtos I could find actually worked for me. Recent ubuntus (e.g. 12.04 or later) use udev and automatically query the "wakeup" capability of USB devices, and allow setting the "wakeup" property of the device only if it supports it. The "stable" FLIRC firmware does not expose the "wakeup" capability to the kernel. Only later "fw_wakeup" betas do (starting in v2 I think). Hi again! It's some time since I needed to reconfigure my flirc ... and I'm a bit rusty. I want to program a remote key to Shutdown XBMC - I tried mapping to the xbmc keyboard 'shutdown' key (the power off button).. When I try this with Xbian (raspberry pi) I just get an onscreen popup saying 'not available'. Can anyone help on how to get 'Shutdown' with one key press? For example, say I want f4 assigned to Shutdown .... ? I setup my Flirc for XBMC and everything works good except chapter change. All I see is 30 second skip. Is there away to get chapter change setup for XBMC or do I need to change it to keyboard? Thanks

How to prepare your Harmony Remote before Mapping it with FLIRC? Hi guys, best thing to do is add a one of these 2 TV profiles to your Harmony remote, example either a Panasonic TC-P65VT30 or SAMSUNG LN46C650L1F!! And of course, dont choose the same TV brand you own. i tested both of these TV profile and they work %100!! Flirc is working great, and I've finally settled in with a good keymap for my remote. I did a quick writeup which shows how I mapped the remote, why, and what I'm using it for. It's really nice to not have to fiddle with running special software in the background just to use the remote. Here's my overview of my HTPC setup.

Like many others I use Flirc very successfully to control XBMC on my Mac Mini. However, I also sometimes want to control the Mini itself and for that I need to be able to move the cursor about the screen. Is there any way to make Flirc do this?

Is there a way to program shift and control key commands from the linux command line utility? My Flirc always sends stuck keys to my Mac when I try to run the graphical Flirc.app to program it, but it works great on my XBMC box running XBMCbuntu, so I'd rather use that.

I'm trying to figure this one out but seem to be at a brickwall. I have a Sony TV in our bedroom with a Zotac Nano PC behind it running OpenELEC (XBMC). Now I've read the threads about defining another TV profile in the Harmony software. Now where I hit the brick wall is when I want to create an activity to watch a movie. The activity will turn on the TV and switch to HDMI 1 input for my XBMC box. But how do you tell the Harmony One to use the additional TV profile so it can send the proper commands so I can navigate and watch a movie with XBMC? Any additional information in this area would be greatly apprecieated.

How to erase a mapped Button on your Remote? in FLIRC'S GUI, Click on the "ERASE" button located bottom left, and then on your remote, simply press the button you want to erase! Happy Erasing :)
