The new Fire Tv remotes have additional buttons other than displayed in the Flirc app such as channel up/down, volume up/down, settings, etc... Is there a way to program Flirc to use these additional buttons. The standard buttons displayed in the app work fine. Thanks

Hi all, I'm using Flirc with my Media Player running Kodi. It has been working fine for years. I have configured Flirc using the Kodi Configuration and have setup Flirc on my Harmony Elite Remote. I want to assign a Function Key (F1-F6) to a key on my Harmony Remote but those keys are not in the Flirc Kodi Configuration, so how can I assign the Function Keys? TIA

I "managed" to program the Flirc USB to operate Fire TV stick, using Roku commands programmed into my Universal Remote MX-780. Everything works as it should. The Fire TV came with a basic remote, without "Netflix" or "YouTube" buttons. However, I see that Amazon now sells Fire TV remotes that have those buttons. my laptop connects to a USB dock that feeds HDMI to the TV, USB to mouse keyboard etc... When my screen on the computer goes to sleep, the TV gets no signal and turns off after few minutes, when I come back to the station, press a button or move the mouse to the turn on the screen, but the dock or my computer are not CEC compatible so they do not turn on the TV. Hey All, Noob here, trying out new things. I am attempting to set up a magic mirror and would like to use my HomeBridge Broadlink IR blaster to shutdown my raspberry pi when I leave the house. If I set up the broadlink to send just the simple power command, if the pi is already off, the broadlink will turn the pi on when I leave the house- which defeats the purpose of trying to save energy. Before I buy it, can I program a Flirc USB IR Receiver to just send a shutdown command? and is there a guide that anyone can link to me please? Thanks!

I fought my problem for a long time, years, erratic response to key presses. I thought distance was the culprit, although 12 ft shouldn't be a problem. I used a USB extension to connect Flirc to mitigate this issue. Until I finally found the source of problem - an 8-port network switch. Both the Kodi frontend and the switch are mounted to the wall, about 2 ft apart. Flashing LED-s of switch were the source of "noise" which obviously interfered and saturated my Flirc adapter. After I turned the switch 90 degrees so the LED-s no longer shine into my Kodi frontend the problem was completely gone.

I have generic iptv box called ZUMM TV for programming from back home. The remote that accompanies this is a dual bluetooth(BT) and IR combination. By default the remote connects to the box via blue tooth and from the research I have done there isn't any way to turn this off. My use case for FLIRC would be to control foobar2000 playing music in a darkened room, laptop screen turned off. As FLIRC acts like a keyboard, IR signals processed will very likely wake up the monitor. On Windows, can this be prevented? Will unchecking the box "Allow this device to wake the computer" on the power management tab for the FLIRC device leave a turned off monitor asleep? Or does this setting apply only to mainboards/OS in sleep states?

I've been happy with flirc for years and recently updated my HTPC to a windows 10 box and thought it was tied to that. But when I used old firmware and kept experiencing it, I just ordered the V2 and continue to have it. I finally traced it down to this: I have several keys programmed to buttons on my Harmony and everytime I have the issue (doesn't respond) then I remote desktop to my PC, open the flirc app, select the "full keyboard" controller as it seems to default to the "minimalist". Works like a champ after this. It's there any way for it to stop defaulting back to the minimalist? It's so frustrating and happens like every day I go to use it it seems...

I'd like to install Flirc software on a very old Macbook Pro I have lying around. It's from mid-2014, so it is certainly old. I know, though, that people were using Flirc with that vintage machine back then, but it appears that current software for macOS doesn't support an OS that old (OS X 10.10.5) -- which I completely understand. My question is whether or not it is possible to find a copy of dmg files from that era that would still work? I understand that more recent versions have enhancements and fewer bugs, etc. Thank you

I was hoping to use the Flirc USB IR receiver as a way of adding a remote into my music server setup. I'm currently using Daphile as the platform for my server. It supports keybindings for player functions and I've tested it with a number of usb keyboards and it recognizes them all. I have followed the directions here (which are a bit out of date) and got to the illustration of a Windows MCE remote (not shown in the help topic) with the injunction "Click a key to start recording". I added the Flirc to an existing Harmony 650 activity. I tried both XBMC and Media center PC. Media center PC wasn't accepted by the harmony software. I can program the Flirc to send the commands I want. I needed 2 commands to control YouTube TV. My problem is that I can't get the harmony software to send the commands to the Flirc device. I am forced to use one of the existing devices. This has unwanted side effects.

I tried to set the buttons of an XBox 360 remote controller with the software to the USB Flirc. I get a positive response, but when i try the before registered button, it shows me always the key "9". I have tried this on a windows and mac computer and with 2 different XBox 360 Remote controller with the same result. All buttons, that i register is set to key "9". How do I record a macro or a key to double press CTRL, example: CTRL --> CTRL --> 1 CTRL --> CTRL -- 2 etc... I am trying to program the remote to double press CTRL then the corresponding number to control my KM switch.

I'm having trouble with the setup from the title. When I launch the GUI, the app seems to recognise when Flirc is connected. If I open Device log and check "Enable IR Debugging" it seems that the keypresses from my remote (One for All URC 7935) seem to be registering with Flirc. However, I am not able to record any buttons. So far I tried clearing the configuration, loading embedded firmware (I'm on v4.9.3), giving it Accessibility/Input Monitoring permissions in System Preferences, and plugging it into a different USB hub. None of it helped. Could this all be the fault of Rosetta/Flirc app not being compatible with the new silicon? Or am I missing somethin…

So, I finally got all of this working, but seems like I had to jump through several hoops for what I assume would be somewhat default behavior everyone should want... so I'm posting here in hopes that it helps others (the other posts I could find on this are rather old), as well as to see if I just missed something obvious.
