Zeno99 Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 New Skip 1S setup went fine and used it for two weeks but power button would turn on TV but not streaming device (Kodi on Intel NUC), so got around to checking the buttons with the App and during that app update was offered that I agreed to but before that happened I noticed the there was no connection to the remote even though it was connected but continued with update anyway. The problem is that the app will not detect the remote (see pic), the remote buttons do not light up or work. What I tried were: different cable, opening and reinstalling the same batteries, used an USB-A to USB-C adapter with a different port, deleted and reset the remote, uninstalled the new update and reinstalled from scratch the original software (SkipApp-0.9.992.9056-Beta-x64.msix). I give up. It's too bad as we really like the Flirc 1s compared to our Harmony.Any ideas would be appreciated. Quote
Solution Zeno99 Posted January 1 Author Solution Report Posted January 1 1. Problem Solved! My wife asked if I had tried replacing the batteries and said no as they were Duracell that last on the shelf for years, but she was right. I wonder if the 1S was draining them excessively? I will run a test and measure drainage over say 3-4 weeks. 2. The Power button still only turns on the TV and the button assignment is Power (no context). I will work with the Kodi app to see if I can fix this. Again, given problems, Occam's Razor should be the first test, i.e., the simplest test. Quote
Zeno99 Posted January 1 Author Report Posted January 1 So all buttons work fine now EXCEPT the power on/off. Kodi is running on Libreelec (V12.0) on an Intel NUC. The power off/on button triggers power (I deleted the Context). So, I give up. I'll just manually push the power button off or on for now. Quote
