Verse Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 My Skip 1s has to be pointed directly at my cable box (Samsung SMT-C5320) to function past 6ft of distance. If I'm up close, I can point the remote at an angle and everything will work just fine. If I'm further away, it doesn't matter if I'm aimed at the sensor, I either have to be dead-on (as in 90 degrees perpendicular) to the cable box or it does not work. Whereas the remote that came with the cable box can be pointed at the wall and it'll still work. This seems like a power issue, but I've tested new batteries and I have three other devices at the same distance and they work just fine (flirc, lg tv, yamaha sound bar). I've tested with another same-model cable box and experienced the same issue, dead-center or no input with the Skip 1s. I suspect it's a programming issue, where the IR signal the remote is sending is not strong enough but I don't know how to troubleshoot that. Any advice? Quote
jason Posted November 12 Report Posted November 12 Can you send a pic of the remote that it came with that works? Could be something else. Modulation frequency or timing. Quote

Modulation frequency or timing. Picture attached. Here's a link to the remote: https://www.optimum.net/FAQ/#/answers/a_id/3974 Please let me know if I can do anything to assist the process; I'm in IT and I've got a lot of patience for troubleshooting. jason Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 Yeah, can you also save and post your skip config? Quote
jason Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 I bought a remote, I'll take a look when it comes. Send that config when you have a chance. Quote
