My Skip 1s has to be pointed directly at my cable box (Samsung SMT-C5320) to function past 6ft of distance. If I'm up close, I can point the remote at an angle and everything will work just fine. If I'm further away, it doesn't matter if I'm aimed at the sensor, I either have to be dead-on (as in 90 degrees perpendicular) to the cable box or it does not work.

Whereas the remote that came with the cable box can be pointed at the wall and it'll still work. This seems like a power issue, but I've tested new batteries and I have three other devices at the same distance and they work just fine (flirc, lg tv, yamaha sound bar). I've tested with another same-model cable box and experienced the same issue, dead-center or no input with the Skip 1s. I suspect it's a programming issue, where the IR signal the remote is sending is not strong enough but I don't know how to troubleshoot that.

Any advice?

I bought a remote, I'll take a look when it comes.  Send that config when you have a chance.

Let me know if there's anything I can add to the process, config is posted above.
