I'm looking to pair a replacement FireTV remote with Windows 8, and use it as a controller for Plex Home Theater.  I was able to get it paired, but only the dpad and {enter} buttons work.  Would flirc be the solution for this?  I attempted to use Autohotkey, but the other buttons on the remote don't seem to produce any input at all..

Did you use the firetv window in my GUI?

 

 

I don't own your device, so I didn't think I could use the application?

To be more concise, I was checking to see if your device is needed to solve my problem.  If so, I'll definitely pick it up.

Firetv uses bluetooth, flirc uses IR. If you want to use your firetv with your computer, this unfortunately wont work with flirc.

So I've downloaded the gui/app to my windows pc and noticed that one of the options for a remote is firetv.  What's the point of that if the firetv remote is not IR based?  Thanks!
