Vantucken Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 I'm looking to pair a replacement FireTV remote with Windows 8, and use it as a controller for Plex Home Theater. I was able to get it paired, but only the dpad and {enter} buttons work. Would flirc be the solution for this? I attempted to use Autohotkey, but the other buttons on the remote don't seem to produce any input at all.. Thanks in advance. Quote
jason Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 Did you use the firetv window in my GUI? Quote
Vantucken Posted December 11, 2014 Author Report Posted December 11, 2014 I don't own your device, so I didn't think I could use the application? Quote
Vantucken Posted December 11, 2014 Author Report Posted December 11, 2014 To be more concise, I was checking to see if your device is needed to solve my problem. If so, I'll definitely pick it up. Quote
jason Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 ohhh. Firetv uses bluetooth, flirc uses IR. If you want to use your firetv with your computer, this unfortunately wont work with flirc. Quote
Vantucken Posted December 11, 2014 Author Report Posted December 11, 2014 That was my fear.. Thanks for the wicked fast response, Jason! Quote

What's the point of that if the firetv remote is not IR based? Thanks! Quote
