I keep hitting "clear configuration", and try to record a key, but I get "button already recorded". How can it be already recorded if I just cleared the configuration?

I would like to program one of my remote's keys to generate Ctrl+P, which I believe should be possible using flirc_util's record_api command with arg1 = 1 for Left Control and arg2 = p. But when I type this command, I get the message: hit a key on the remote to be paired with 1 0 (Note the 0, not P) If I then press a remote key and then test the result using xev, I find that the key only generates Ctrl_L up/down events. Hi, I have been using Flirc for a month and a half now and a few weeks ago re-installed windows on a new hd. Immediately after the re-install I installed the flirc hardware and the drivers. It worked fine until yesterday when one button push resulted in the button acting as if it was held down. My immediate response was to try to force update the flirc firmware (no change) so I cleared everything out, reinstalled the gui and drivers and now when I try to program the remote it doesn't do anything. - I'm running windows 7 x64 - I'm using a universal wr7 remote (changed the batteries) - I tried different profiles on the remote and tried my tv's remo…

So I just got my FLIRC a few days ago for new HTPC running Win7. My setup is WMC and XBMC to run together. I have a Harmony Smart remote which I set to use two arbitrary Devices so I can get different IR signals. (one to be setup for XBMC and one for WMC). After programming the buttons for both XBMC and WMC, the FLIRC would start to forget some buttons and I would have to reprogram them into the FLIRC. I am running the most current drivers and firmware.

So I am attempting to program my flirc device running 1.2.6 flirc_util reports the device is valid and operational. I have the software loaded on both ubuntu and windows 8 and I am getting the same results. When I attempt to record a button the GUI tell me the button has already been programmed or it instantly states recorded before I have an opportunity to press a button. There are no infrared devices in the immediate area. So, if I attempt to program for say "1", I click "1" in the GUI and it instantly states recorded. If I then pull up say a web browser the open field will start to be populated with "1"s. I have tried this in separate rooms. I even went ou…

Hi guys I have tried searching for anyone experiencing this problem, but it seems I am alone on this (for current FW, at least) All was fine until I had the bright idea of upgrading my Flirc (delivered with FW V1.0 about a year and a half ago). I downloaded the lateset GUI, installed, and forced a FW upgrade. All seemed to go well, and the GUI now connects and reports a V2.3 Flirc but whenever I try to program a button from my Harmony 300 (loaded with the Flirc XBMC profile) I just get a "Button already exists" message. Before any button is pressed on the remote! I tried downloading someone elses Harmony fcfg file and using that, but no luck. I cannot find…

I have used flirc across many computers, and I have never had any problems, untill upgrading my Ubuntu install from 12.10 to 13.04, and more recently to 13.10. All of the buttons are still functioning with their positions, and I am able to use Flirc from the command line. Has anyone experienced this, or knows how to fix it?

The key is green (Press the button to be paired with 'backslash'), I press the remote button (Recorded successfully). I test it and press again the remote button and the #3 key turn green not the \. ./filrc_util settings says hash: 5BF9F14B key:/ Very strange. I did the test few times and after reboot my Linux box. I don't know if this is a GUI or firmware issue.

I opened up my Flirc app today & got an alert saying there was an upgrade to the app. I clicked to download and upgrade. The process finished & I got a dialog saying 'Upgrade and relaunch' or something like that. Then the OSX crash log appeared, I tried reopening but it did the same thing. I thought it must have been a bad download, so I went to the website & downloaded the OSX dmg image from there. Same result. :o I looked around on the site to see if I could find a download area where I could get the previous version - but I couldn't find it anywhere. Every time i try to delete a key another key gets deleted and the key I intended to delete stays. Same on all my 3 flirc's, firmware v2.1 on 2 off them and v1.0 on the third, using both Flirc gui 1.1.5 for windows and cli. How to solve this? Any way to delete a key without using a remote? Very frustrating not to be able to delete a ghost key or keys mapped to a missing remote or wrongly mapped keys.. Any one else have this problem?

Hi So got my device and the flirc gui (linux mint) is not detecting the device.tried all the other usb ports still nothing.i connected to mac and setup a remote plugged into the linux computer and the remote works perfect.updated the firmware on the device and the flirc gui is still not detecting the device.Any thoughts on this? Beside other functions I also configured the wake function. All buttons show up in GUI (full keyboard) as soon as I press it on my remote. Only the "wake" button doesn't, although the wake funcionality works fine. Would be nice, if this could be corrected in the GUI.

Hi, I've a Mac Mini (2012), Flirc with Firmware 2.0, OS 10.9 (Maverick) Software Flirc v.1.0.5 for Maverick and a Logitech Harmony One. i'd like use the stuff for xbmc on OS Maverick. My Problem is, i cant erase Buttons. i ckick on erase and them i push with the mouse the icon for remote, and get a message: no more space for new buttons. i cant erase the button on harmony one. File - clear configuration dont work. can you help me for my problem? Sry for my bad english, im from germany ;)

I have flirc with firmware version 2.0 and the latest software. The device worked fine for a while and now it has stopped remembering keys - it goes through with the normal learning process confirms that the key has been stored - but in the end the key is not remembered and the remote/software. would appreciate any help

Hey there, no matter what remote I use, it seems to register as CTRL+F from any remote, any button. Even those not registered or bound to a key. Happens with every remote I've tried. I tried updating firmware (was 1.0 before), it crashed and killed the usb stuck, had to use zadig tool to fix it. With the 2.0 firmware it still does it. Any help would be appreciated. Regards EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out my laptop's built-in IR receiver was interfering with signal input.

I just received my Flirc to use with my Harmony One. I downloaded whatever was on the main page of the Flirc website. The about says GUI 1.0.6 Git 1.0.6 Based on Qt 4.8 It also says Firmware v.1.2 I set it up as a Media Center PC->Flirc->XBMC and I gave the Menu/Guide/Exit buttons some random buttons so that Flirc would know to recognize them. It can control XBMC, but it exhibits some weird behavior when trying to program the Home button when I select XBMC as the controller. In the Flirc Gui, it records successfully if I click the Home, then Menu on my remote. However, then the up and down buttons don't work anymore. Also, when I hit the menu button on my re…

Hi, I used the installer 0.96 for Windows to install the GUI. It seemed to work, but when plugging in the FLIRC-Device, there is no appropriate driver installed. Where can I get the driver and how can it be installed? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to get Flirc working on my HTPC with the latest beta software (v1.0.0-rc.2). When I install the retail version (0.96), it works fine. However, with the beta version, the programming software always says "disconnected". I have tried it in both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, with the same result. Please note that this is ONLY the programming software that fails to connect. Device Manager shows the Flirc as connected, and I am able to send IR commands to it that I have already programmed in. Hey there. I just experienced some visually confusing stuff in the GUI. If you select any other controller than "Minimalist", you can move the key layout up and down by pressing Page Up/Down. It doesn't seem to conflict with anything, it's just annoying when you're trying to program the remote with PageUp/PageDown and it subtracts from the "user experience".

I'm using the NETTOP Foxconn nT-A3500 (win7 x64) for my HTPC which has USB3.0 ports on the front of it. I installed its USB3.0 driver for Windows, installed Flirc 0.97 and when I insert the Flirc into the USB3.0 port it is recognized and driver loads as expected. The one issue I found was that I couldn't program it while plugged into the 3.0 port, the GUI just appears as though it's not connected. I switched it to a USB2.0 port and was able to use the GUI to program the device. When I was done I switched back to the USB3.0 port and it receives/processes the signals from the remote without issue. Obviously not a deal-breaker, but I wanted to make sure it was posted shou…

I know this has been discussed in the forums before (see XBMC setup), but I though maybe I could add some new information to everyone's understanding of why this is so difficult. The ASCII beyboard has been around a very long time, and each technology "revolution" has modified special keys and how they operate. For example, the keyboard on an original Teletype machine has a "BREAK" key that literally broke the circuit connection as a special control command. The advent of the video display was another one of these revolutions. Hi, I'm using the latest version of the GUI from the repository under Kubuntu 12.04, KDE 4.8.4. The GUI is missing the "options bar", where I'm able to choose different controllers, save and load configurations and so on. Since there are no screenshots of the GUO on the site, I had a very frustratin afternoon, because in trying out the GUI and reading on the forum I always read posts saying something about a full keyboard mode I couldn't find. Luckly I booted up Windows and tried the GUI under that or I might never have found out. :-) Joachim

Hi, Under WIndows (XP), I can only program two keys in the gui using the XBMC controller mode. If I start with the number keys and I erase everything beforhand (eitehr key by key or using the all clear function), I can only program keys one and two. With any key after that the GUI tells me that it is already set. Joachim
