GUI Bugs

Describe bugs found while operating the GUI

  1. Hi, first off let me say that i love the idea of FLIRC, however i have some issues. Each time i run GUI, it asks me if i want to upgrade firmware. If I answer yes, it upgrades, everything works, but next time i launch GUI, it asks me again. If I answer no, GUI starts but shows FLIRC as disconnected. FLIRC responds to key-presses however, even though GUI says it's disconnected. I have FLIRC-SE, firmware 3.7 and GUI 1.3.7. Drivers are freshly installed via ZADIG utility. Thank you for any ideas

  2. I have 2 flircs. The first one went well straight off the bat. The second has been shit. Then I accidentally upgraded the firmware on the first one, now I have two that are shit. Can't you just make a program that reads an editable xml file or something? It really is starting to piss me off now!! The two flircs are running the latest firmware which I thought would've been sorted by now but obviously isn't. The flircs lose their settings!! I am running a windows 7 32bit media center as a HTPC. All works then I lose a button. Then the whole lot goes. Without the computer even doing a reboot or anything. Reinstalling the same firmware then clearing the setting then r…

I'm having some difficulty in getting FLIRC GUI to recognise the device The FLIRC appears in the usb devices with the following properties flirc: Product ID: 0x0001 Vendor ID: 0x20a0 Version: 1.00 Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec Manufacturer: flirc.tv Location ID: 0x1d100000 / 3 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 100 When the flirc is plugged in the GUI reads Firmware V3.7 in the lower left hand corner above the erase button but the GUI still reads disconnected in the lower right corner. If i remove the Flirc device the Firmware V3.7 text disappears from the GUI and Firmware v-9.-9 appears in the lower left corner instea…

  4. Started by Snoog37,

Trying to get 1.3.6 running on Win7. GUI crashes to bsod when I run the gui. "Bad_Pool_Header". The ONLY time I have been able to get the app to run is when I started Win in SAFE mode or I can get the gui to start in Compatibility Mode for Win NT--without crashing windows. Devices and Device Manager both see the flircas a libusbk GUI never sees the flirc, "please connect flirc". App seemed to run then, but would not recognize the flirc receiver, so it didn't do me any good and wouldn't allow me to program it. Support replied to my one site request, but has ignored the last 3 additional help requests since then (over a week). Thanks, Eric

Hi Unsure if this should be classed as a bug or new feature suggestion. I think it would be good to implement the ability to resize the GUI application window. My HTPC is connected to a large screen TV, I have set Windows to make everything bigger in the accessibility options as I sit so far away from the TV. Unfortunately, as you currently cannot resize the window, a lot of the information is cropped if that makes sense. Thanks

  8. flirc GUI ver 1.3.4 flirc firmware 3.5 Yosemite 10.10.2 When using the "Full Keyboard" controller on a MAC, the Option and Control keys are reversed. That is, when the Option key is pressed the Control key lights up on the GUI interface and when the Control key is pressed the Option key lights up. I don't know if it's just the GUI or if those keys are being incorrectly mapped. I'm just getting used to my Mac. I'm on Yosemite which I just updated to. But it also happened in the previous version. I thouhg upgrading to Yosimite might fix it but no go. On the PC version the Control and the Alt keys appear to be mapped correctly. Can't test the equivelant of the "Opt…

  9. flirc.exe crashes upon launching when the dongle is plugged in. If I leave it unplugged and launch flirc.exe it works, but as soon as I plug in the dongle flirc.exe crashes. Any ideas? I'm on Windows 8.1 using v1.2.4 :)

Hi again, the GUI binary of the 1.3.1 package seems to be linked against libc6 2.17. Unfortunately I run a ubnutu 12.04 LTS which only provides libc6 2.15. Is it possible to get a GUI binary linked against libc6 2.15? Many other VDR (yavdr) users amongst me would be very happy about that. Kind regards, Simon

Hi all. Just bought my flirc and can't get the gui going. I'm on win7, 64b and get an immediate crash upon loading. I've tried the utility to reload the driver, moved usb ports, started with it plugged in and not, etc. The gui comes up and 2 seconds in it crashes. Considering msvcrt.dll is the issue, do I need any specific version of c++ runtime? Details are below. Appreciate any assistance is getting this going. Thanks! 13. Started by Ned Scott,

Just a heads up, the default keymaps for Kodi v14 have changed so that P (which is what FLIRC's GUI uses for play/pause on the XBMC window) now only does "play" and not "playpause". This means pressing P while a video is playing will not pause it, like it used to do in XBMC v13. I've actually made a plea to change this behavior for P so that it doesn't break functionality for all the FLIRC users, but so far the pull request hasn't been given the green light: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/5910 Ether way, in the future it would be better if the XBMC/Kodi button menu used the multimedia playpause key instead of P. Also, there are two very common XBMC related k…

  15. Hi, Just received my flirc yesterday. My setup: box - XBMC Openelec running off USB 3.0 stick on old Dell Vostro notebook; remote - Logiech Harmony 620; Flirc GUI v1.3.0 installed on Win7 machine. I programmed the remote through Logiech software with profile Flirc/XBMC, then mapped buttons and it works like a charm with my box. The only problem is that it does not wake the box from sleep ("suspended") mode. I did some searching and conluded that I need to enable sleep detection (GUI>File>Advanced>). So now I started dealing with the GUI... Every time I start the GUI against Flrc I am asked to upgrade firmware, even if I just did it. If I decline to u…

I have done clear config and force update firmware, now on 3.3 However most of the buttons still do something. I am using a media centre remote. in XBMC controller mode, the mute button makes "info" light up. So does the i button on remote. I erased the mute button, and now it STILL makes the info button light up, but only every other press. There seems to be no way to get mute to actually control mute. I tried to uninstall, reinstall, clear everything, update firmware and still the only config I am allowed to have is the one that works from the start, eg when I press buttons on the remote, stuff in GUI lights up from the start, and that's the only sett…

  17. Hi, GUI Version 1.3.0 Firmware Version: 3.3 GUI installed on Ubuntu Version 14.10 x64 flirc then moved to a Raspbmc (running from a reputable power source) In the GUI, when I go to the "Controllers" menu & select "XBMC" I can program everything exactly as it is supposed to. When the flirc is plugged into the Raspbmc, all programmed buttons on the remote work exactly as expected - apart from the Power button on the remote which instead of powering down XBMC just loads the home screen & highlights "System". I've duplicated this on two completely different remotes, so it appears to be the keyboard code that the GUI attches to the "Power" button from th…

Hey, I've got a lot of troubles with my Flirc. For beginning, it didn't function at all under Win7, GUI crashed immediately. After searching for a while the problem was a WD external HD, it sounds totally funny, but after the WD was connected to the external USB3 port, and the Flirc to an internal USB2 the Gui crashed. After connecting the WD to an external USB2 port, the problem was gone. Making any sense, not at all, but it was the solution! But now if installed Win 8.1. Flirc is correct installed, and functions. But i can't program it, can't bind keys, can't delete keys, nothing at all. When is use the command based version of Flirc, it telles me that the Fir…

Hi I have the FW 2.6 I have on two different Mac Minis using a Flirc receiver a problem with one of the recievers I have mapped the Apple + G command for a guide and assigned a command to a Logitech Harmony remote (have two identical setups in my living room and bedroom. My problem is that the Guide keeps popping up even when the key is not pressed. It only occours with one of the FLIRC receivers. So when moved from one computer to another the problem moved with the receiver. I have no clue how to solve this. But closing the Flic App does not solve it, I have to disconnect the Flir reciver. I am running fully updated OSX and using remote buddy together with…

  22. Started by dsoccer,

I have 2 Flirc's, both with the same issue. They have been running along fine for a while now, no firmware upgrades in quite some time. I want to take advantage of some of the improvements in XBMC control and also add the harmony profile so I went to upgrade today, but both cycle through saying "Could not upgrade firmware, contact support" when I try to do so in the 1.2.6 gui. It seems to crash frequently while trying this as well. This is the same on a laptop running Win7 x86 and on a desktop running Win7 x64, both with fresh program installs. I would try to do the upgrade via command line but can't since I don't have access to the bin file that is bundled in the gui. …

GUI Version: 1.06 Firmware Version: 2.0 The AudioNextLanguage mapping in the Harmony XBMC Profile is not working. What it is doing is jumping to the TV Titles Listing.

  24. This is very frustrating all I want to do is map ALT-SPACE-N and your program won't allow it. For example if I select space-alt then as soon as I select N it will say recording stopped. I have tried selecting each key in different orders and it just keeps saying recording stopped. Another bug for example... deleting keys! it doesn't always work! it tends to work when you haven't mapped many keys, but as soon as you have pretty much mapped every key and you then make a mistake, you try and delete that key and and it doesn't even erase it, so you have to start all over again. I had to re-map every single button on my remote far too many times yesterday Simple things…

Hi folks, I'm running flirc version 1.2.6 (Firmware 2.6) on a PC with a Harmony remote. Flirc keeps receiving inputs, even if I dont press a button on the remote. This hasnt been a problem in the past, I just hit the "Erase" button and waited for the key to be received again - problem solved. However, recently Flirc keeps receiving the German letter "ß", which is not on the US standard keyboard (the ß-key on my German keyboard is where the dash-key is on your's, to the right of the 0-key). Apparently the GUI does not recognize, when it receives the ß-key input, so it cannot delete it. If I press the key on the keyboard with the GUI open, the dash-key doesnt flash…
