Agustin
To answer @marius, log files are created one per day and taking the date in UTC. When the app starts it takes the file if it is exist or creates a new one. What you say makes sense, if the file it takes is too big or corrupted or whatever, there may be some error. A new one should be created instead, and that could coincide with the second execution that @berkhornet describes. I'm just thinking, I'll do some tests in this regard. Agustin
Hi @berkhornet, I missed one of your messages. What you said is helpful. Could you share with me the logs generated by the app with version 0.9.984.8940?
berkhornet
ok - I had reinstalled the working 0.9.982.xxx version. So I downloaded 0.9.984.8940 again. Now it crashes every time and does not create a log file! (I deleted the log file from version 0.9.982.xxx before installation)
Joe Baughman
I just picked up a Skip 1. I attempted to connect to it in Windows and it seemed to partially work after installing the extra driver. The app tried to update the firmware and I could not get the remote to reconnect. I ran the Skip App on a Linux machine and it connects but the firmware is listed as "undefinedundefined" I get an error as soon as I hit the Sync button. It won't reset to factory. I can't seem to do anything with this remote. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
berkhornet
@Agustin Good morning. I tried version 0.9.984.8940 again, and this time I was able to start the app randomly. It's not every second time now. I attach the log file you requested. When the app did start I still noticed that the Play/Pause and Mute buttons were not highlighted even though they were mapped. flirc20241031.log Edited Thursday at 08:23 AM by berkhornet
Agustin
Good morning @berkhornet. Thank you. In the logs I see only one session, and the log file is from today. Just to confirm, did you test the app just once today and it worked? Or did it fail several times and only once worked?
Agustin
Hello Joe, welcome. I'm not aware that the bug you're experiencing has been reported. I don't have any quick tips. I'm going to ask you to open a new topic so I can help you there, or someone else can. Please attach as much information as possible, especially the .log file that you'll find here: %localappdata%\Packages\SkipApp_nk6j7xazwq5t8\LocalState\

Can you zip up all he contents in here: %localappdata%\Packages\SkipApp_nk6j7xazwq5t8\ Hit start->run and past that, go up a directory. Then zip up the skip directory and post that. Otherwise we have nothing to reproduce this.

Do you want that directory before or after the install of version 0.9.984.xxxx
Agustin
@berkhornet I wanted to ask you a new favor, could you try this version: https://update.flirc.tv/skipapp/pr/1367/SkipApp-0.9.984.8944-wizard-x64.msix?token=skipAppUpdate Even if it fails, it should generate some useful logs.
