  1. Yes, you would be pairing a remote button with a function on flirc. So the button you would use to issue the wake up event on flirc. Not the activity on the harmony.
  2. See this thread: http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/1205-really-freaking-frustrated-with-my-flirc-but-its-not-your-fault/?hl=sunglasses#entry7392 Please cary the conversation on there. Note my last message at the bottom, I think I have a fix but would need to carry this conversation out privately, not ready to make this public.
  3. I have some beta firmware images we can try. Can you guys experiencing the noise from incandescent lights email me? I'm not ready to make this public.
  4. Make sure the interkey delay is 3 through 6. Let me know if that helps. Could be your remote doesn't support it. Sorry for the delay.
  5. I finally got all my debian packages up and running along with some rpm's. This should solve the issue, adds some udev rules, shouldn't need to run them as root. Let me know.
  6. This is a problem with MCE remotes and the frequencies they run at. The boxee remote wont work, it uses RF, not IR. If anything was working, you were picking up noise. I'm really sorry about that.
  7. whoa hold on, can you send a picture? you de-soldered the USB connector?
  8. Hmm, strange. It's not recognizing any keys when you want to pair them?
  9. Flirc only uses 5-10mA at best. The issue is that there is noise on the power supply. And there is a race condition, because flirc is starting up and the power supply shuts it down again. I've fixed it in the new bootloader, doesn't happen with all devices. Please email me if you are still seeing that. Thanks Yawor for all your help in the forums, you've really been an asset lately, can I offer you some free loot? Possibly an admin account if you are interested?
  10. sorry so much for not getting back to you in time. Glad you found it, it's just me here.
  11. Yes, could definitely be that the computer is being shut down and not sleeping. Also, let's try a few things. Make sure you're on the latest release of the firmware, version 2.6 Go to advanced, enable sleep detect. Then go to the full keyboard, and record a wake key. Give that a shot, if that doesn't work. Try turning off sleep detect, and the record the suspend/wake key on the media key controller view.
  12. Thanks Chris. Yes latest are posted. I don't have any beta images active right now.
  13. Some customers had described using non-developed film for a camera as material to act as a filter. Could be worth a shot, have any you could give a try?
  14. It's the algorithm I use. I have something generic enough to capture any kind of signal. This is the downside. I'm really surprised with noise capturing, this is still an issue. When a noise event is triggered, is it just a single click that happens?
  15. It's because of a cheap power supply. I have a workaround in newer devices. You can shoot me an email for a replacement, or if you have a higher quality USB supply at home, that will probably fix it too. Let me know. You can reach me at support at flirc.tv
  16. Could be one of two things, could be the plasma tv, or could be the lights in the room. Do you have incandescents?
  17. Yeah, looks normal now, can you disable built in profiles too? Is it always the same button that get's triggered?
  18. I'm the creator. The reason it might be responding to 'noise' is because it may have recorded noise. If you're familiar with the commandline, do a: flirc_util settings This will spit out a bunch of recorded keys. If you see any repeated recordings, one of them is noise, record it by doing: flirc_util delete_index <index_num from flirc_util settings> This can be fixed, let me know.
  19. Go to advanced->disable built in profiles. Let me know if that works.
  20. Stick to an interkey delay of 3. Windows MCE remotes give flirc a hard time because they use a very uncommon carrier frequency. Do you have another type you can try? Samsung, panasonic remotes work great.
  21. Thanks so much for the amazing support and feedback. Means so much. I'm pretty much a one man show, so the fact that you took the time to create an account, and write the positive feedback, is really touching. Thank you so much Keith, need another and it's on the house. Just ping me.
  22. Flirc is seen and detected as a keyboard. LIRC works as a bit differently. So whatever window is focused on display:0 would receive the commands.
  23. advanced-> disable built in profiles
  24. I'm absolutely wanting to fix this, but need someone to volunteer their time to help. I can't reproduce the issue, so I can keep guessing and checking, or someone could team up with me and help out. If you're willing to do this, I'd be extremely grateful.
