  2. I really want to use this skip remote but im having a single issue thats preventing me. My harmony remote has separate buttons for pause/play and my cable box has a pause and a play button no pause/play toggle so you can see my issue. I configured the pause/play button with both pause and play but the remote doesnt know if its already paused or playing so when i hit the button it just repeats the command. If im paused, it stays paused, if im playing it stays playing. or it gets stuck in-between and i cant pause or play. I have tried other solutions online which were to make it play only or pause only because some cable boxs are toggle by default if one is selected. This doesn't work with my cable box. DCX3501-M If there was a way to make it so the remote knows if its paused, then it could play and visa versa. Any ideas?

  4. https://update.flirc.tv/skipapp/pr/1268/SkipApp-0.9.966.7563-beta-0.9.966-x64.msix?token=skipAppUpdate i think you missed my link. Please try the following and please give me any and all logs. Go to preferences->accessibility. Then click the wrench and go to the admin panel and the logs tab. Open the folder and zip up and post the logs. But this version may work
  5. As I said earlier, happy to test this out, but for some reason never got a notification that the thread had updates (I've checked the follow topic again button again just in case I missed it last time). So I tried both apps listed and with the last version a single successful connection.... but since then nothing (maybe swapping remotes was an issue). Often on closing the app I will get prompted about giving permissions vs when a remote is connected, again that's very random and maybe I've missed a key step with this new version. I'm also your worst nightmare, Steam and Logitech user all on Windows 11. But if you want anything testing, let me know what and what order the steps should be in. Knowing windows, it's almost needing to reboot the pc for each test just to be sure nothing was left over from the last time the app was run. And a very clear step guide on what to do (or not to do).
  6. Unfortunately, I don't. If it helps I'm using the HDX batteries you can get at Home Depot. Family has used batteries in this same pack in other devices without issue.
  7. Try this Version and please let me know if this works.
  8. You have a way to measure these batteries?
  9. @jason The batteries I was using were a fresh pair from the store. Every time a new fix has been released I've put in a new pair of batteries to eliminate that being an issue, and the batteries I'm using are the normal type (not rechargeable). I'll be on the lookout for the next patch, thanks!

  11. I see a potential crash issue, and will issue a patch. However, in all likelihood, it's nearly impossible unless reading memory is corrupt, only time that could happen is if the battery goes too low. If you ran into the prior bug before the firmware update, it could have very well drained the battery. Updating the firmware would fix the issue, but the batteries would still be low from before.
  12. I see low battery alert on yours
  13. Can you go to settings, accessibility, enable admin panel. Go to the logs panel, and send me the logs real quick? I have to recreate the app, I think it got purged.
  14. Hello Jason, I'm unable to download the skipUpdate app. When attempting to download from your previous post, I receive the error "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it." Any help would be greatly appreciated as I just recently received my skip remote and have been unable to use it.
  15. Click the three dots in the bottom right corner. Go to settings and accessibility. It’s in there for convenience now.
  16. Can I enable the Admin tab on Linux? I tried this with no luck: echo -e "{\n \"showAdminPanel\": true\n}" > ~/.config/SkipApp/config.json
  17. Agreed, mine is lasting pretty much around a week before it starts to act up - again, to add, @jason thanks for all your work on this. I'll continue to try and capture logs etc. if it is being helpful? (before this last update, I'd been taking the batteries out until I needed to use it :-) ) This time it did respond to USB and the app, and gave the attached log - I did not remove the batteries, though I did unplug the cable, and re-plug the cable - so it's given 2 sets of output. Again, I hope this may be of some use? Any tips/hints/advice on what we could do to help? Otherwise, I'll continue to use it with some fresh batteries! I might have to swap to rechargeable ones though! Thanks again! flirc-remote-control20240503.log
  18. I really like the remote and I have things setup mostly how I want, it's just changing between the activities that feels wrong. It could be so right if I could run some actions when changing (A,B,C buttons), but I've had to assign actions to buttons 1,2,3 on each activity and press one of those as well as the activity switch each time, which is maybe okay for me to deal with, but I know that any guests are going to struggle :)
  19. Last week
  20. Hello @jason , This time around the remote lasts about week before locking up. Here is the info you wanted us to post. Firmware ver: 4.12.26-0-gf661a78 skip_remote_log.rtf

    Why So Limited?

Everything works fine with the LG C1,2,3 Oleds. Just add Menu Home to whichever button you want to use and then sync.
  22. Also, all the logs would be extremely helpful as well. You can zip them up and they'll become a reasonable size.
  23. I had to use the Kodi profile for Plex HTPC. Most buttons work, but home is missing. To program a button for home, just add a random unused Kodi action to the home key on the remote (I used the colour Blue, which is F4 I think), sync that, then map that button to the "h" key in the flirc USB app. You can do the same thing for subtitles etc. just line things up with the plex keymap.
  24. adding @PANiCnz and @RRRoamer for additional collaboration.
  25. I just want to say I've had my head down in frustration trying to do my solution and I'm extremely frustrated and exhausted with windows bullshit. I will write a long post about it. Windows developer documentation is awful, their registry documentation is lackluster, and their sandboxed environment is broken. I understand one of the issues that was caused by steam but not the logitech one. With the logitch one, I see the issue, but if I close the app and re-launch it, it connects fine. Can someone with the software, can they confirm? @Fourqui Also, can everyone in the thread experiencing this issue please open regedit and export the following branches for me: (save as type text files). Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001 Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet You can attach them here. Thank you everyone in advance.
