April 25, 20242 yr comment_35794 I've attached my config, but this has been going on for a while. When I press volume up on the skip, the volume goes up, but it also does a next chapter. Very annoying. Volume down, does just volume down, as expected. Running Skip App 0.9.965, firmware screenshot attached. Flirc app is a v3.27.15, firmware on Flirc shows as v4.10.5 Any ideas? minipc.skip Report
May 14, 20242 yr Author comment_36055 I've taken a look at the config json files, and I don't see anything obvious. Am I on my own on this one? Report
June 1, 20242 yr Author comment_36288 @jason can you take a quick peek at the skip file? Anything stand out? Report
June 8, 20242 yr Author comment_36347 Disappointed. More than a month later (6 weeks actually) and not a peep, or even an acknowledgement from @jason or any of the Slip team ( @Nathan ??) Edited June 23, 20242 yr by revin Report
July 25, 20241 yr Author comment_36763 3 months now.. and not a peep or a question or followup from anyone at flirc. @jason @Nathan BTW: almost all of moderators for this forum haven't logged in for YEARS when you look at their profiles. Time to houseclean? Report
July 28, 20241 yr Author Solution comment_36827 I figured this out on my own. removed all skip stuff and reinstalled. Export the current the config on the skip app. Uninstall the skip app. Install the latest version of the skip app. It went through the welcome screen, and wanted to initialize everything. Connected Skip 1s, it hung.. and crashed. (BTW, please get rid of the animations in the app.. not needed.) Restarted skip app. Started great. Import the saved export from above. Firmware upgrade to Skip 1s available.. installed. FINALLY.. volume up does just volume up. It no longer also sends next chapter. EDIT: Not the solution and I can't UNMARK as solution. Still having the problem. Turns out I was testing with new files that didn't have chapter makers.. duh. Edited January 28, 20251 yr by revin Report
July 28, 20241 yr Author comment_36828 The only thing to try to figure out now, is how to get it to send Kodi next page, previous page. For some reason those options are missing from the Skip app. Report
January 28, 20251 yr Author comment_39476 @jason Can someone please look into this? It's been 9 months since I reported this. Report
January 29, 20251 yr comment_39496 I didn't get notice of this thread. I'm so sorry. There are some old folks on here, I will remove them. Unfortunately Nate is no longer with the Flirc, so I'm on my own. I think this was probably due to a misconfigured flirc rather than anything wrong with the skip remote. Your Skip config looks fine. The way it works is we are sending out random IR signals and I've pre-mapped these to keyboard keys for you within the flirc usb receiver. If I'm missing something you like, you can re-map any IR signal that comes out of the Skip with the Flirc USB pairing software. Download that from the website. Open it, go to Controllers->Keyboards Pair an unused signal or override an existing signal that comes out of skip to one of those keys: My suggestion is first go into the skip app, edit the remote, and assign an unused button from the kodi button list into your remote that you want to use as page up or down. For example, looking at your config, I'll take any arbitrary un-used function and assign it to channel up and down on your remote. In this example, I've taken Zoom+ and Zoom-. CleanShot 2025-01-29 at 09.46.53.mp4 If you hit these buttons on your remote, flirc usb will take these signals and use the pre-mapped keyboard keys to increase or decrease zoom. However, using the flirc usb app above, you can record over these. Just plug in the flirc USB, fire up the application, go to controllers->keyboard, and press the keyboard key you want to record. You will be prompted to press the button on your remote to pair with the page up/down key. Press the Channel up/down on your remote, and it's done. Plug into the machine that's running kodi, and it should work as intended. CleanShot 2025-01-29 at 09.53.45.mp4 Hopefully that's helpful. Report
