    Description:
Thanks for your patience, this was a lot of work. You'll need special versions of software for now. But here is a summary of what you do. Use our app as you would. When you are ready to 'sync', you'll export your configuration with a special process.
Enable special export by pressing 'tab' 3 times while in the tools tab Click Export Remote Configuration Save to Disk Open up skipUpdate Tool and load the saved config Sync Here is a video demo and a link if the embedded video doesn't play.

There were a lot of bugs in the first alpha, and I have a terrible bug in the last one and can't trust 100% what's being recorded. Please check for alpha 5 next week, it should be pretty close to a release candidate.
  3. jason's post in Skip Remote will do everything except turn on my projector BenQ X3000i was marked as the answer
Extremely frustrating which is why we focused on the learning portion of the device so you can learn from existing devices. I’m sorry for your initial frustration.

    But don’t worry. Try this:
If that doesn’t work for some reason I’ll help get it fixed asap.

  12. jason's post in Apple 4K + Device Parameters was marked as the answer
I spent nearly all day on it. But when you told me about your harmony, I started messing around with mine and the original apple tv silver remote. Then I remembered you can pair it. So I tried to figure out what the pair code was for the newer remote models but couldn’t. So I decoded the silver pair remote, and tried to add it to the skip, but it wouldn’t work after a modification.
But then I locked myself out. So I was on to something.
So I finally stumbled on how to unpair a remote and tried that. Yes, I’m definitely adding that along with documentation.
So glad it’s working. Thanks for trying that quickly and helping put this to rest.
  13. jason's post in T+A DAC 8 not in your list was marked as the answer
I just pushed this into the latest version. So no need to do anything with it. Just let us know if the codes work.
  14. jason's post in New Skip 1s - 2 questions was marked as the answer
I think the TV needs more time to turn on, so make sure the power is first in the sequence, add a healthy delay by clicking on the TV ON button in the macro to expand it's settings, and then increase it experimentally and let me know what it ends up being if that works.
Regarding both devices responding. Seams both devices have been 'taught' the same codes or you are sending out the same code for both devices. It's the same as if two identical TV's are in the same room, they'll both respond. So to remedy, make sure to use different codes for each. You can add an arbitrary device that's not in your room to Skip, and then teach the other flirc this new device.

    Let me know.
  15. jason's post in Any way to get the JSON for device? was marked as the answer
Just save the config from the remote manager and everything you need is there along with extraneous info.
  16. jason's post in remote completely bricked during latest firmware update was marked as the answer
Send me a pm. I’ll replace it. This is not a software issue. It’s a hardware issue, but not something that I’m concerned with now. Mass production always shows the 1%, and we iterate. A component on the pcb is either damaged or disconnected. We run a test in the factory which will never ship a remote with this issue. So I’ll take a look to see if the problem was caused in transit, temperature, a drop, etc. All of which we will refine as we make more. Im not worried about all of the ones shipped suddenly having this issue. I can also add a check before an upgrade and prevent the upgrade and warn the user so you can at least use your remote until the remote is replaced.

Factory phones home test results. I can look up the remote and see the tests. But bottom line is that it would have failed in the first 10 seconds of the test exactly how it failed for you. So I’ll dig in as soon as I have them.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

borez does not have the same issue. Since his remote is detected. His issue is a software issue and probably just windows horseshit.

  17. jason's post in Remote goes dead for a few seconds intermittently was marked as the answer
No it's not being ignored. It's generally very hard to stay on top of everything, since this was a duplicate issue in the beta firmware forum. I thought I was communicating with everyone in the topic, and did not see this. Should be fixed, you should have received an update notification in the app along with a firmware update once downloaded. New firmware resolves quite a few issues.
  18. jason's post in Sony BDP-S6500 Blu Ray player is not working was marked as the answer

This should be it. Learning is going to come quickly, but in the mean time, I'm able to learn locally with all my hardware/tools to quickly add them as long as I can find the codes somewhere.

    Cheers!

  24. jason's post in Learned directional commands are moving twice for a single press was marked as the answer
I'll need to put a wiki together until I can code all this up so it's really simple NEC codes are a bit harder to copy and paste with available tools online. Brief explanation. Each button, has a unique CODE, followed by a repeat frame. The repeat frame is the same for every button press, and it's just a small short burst which tells the device repeat last thing you saw. This protocol helps us save power, because the repeat burst is only a couple pulses.
So for example, when you captured a button:
    +9119 -4487 +612 -505 +606 -505 +611 -505 +607 -505 +611 -505 +611 -505 +607 -505 +611 -1630 +611 -1629 +611 -1630 +611 -1629 +612 -1629 +611 -1630 +607 -1634 +607 -1629 +612 -505 +611 -505 +607 -1633 +607 -1634 +606 -505 +620 -496 +611 -1630 +611 -500 +611 -505 +611 -1630 +611 -505 +607 -505 +611 -1629 +611 -1629 +612 -505 +607 -1629 +611 -1630 +611
-40  <---THIS IS AN ERROR ON MY PART
    +9119 -2209 +612
The minus 40 is 40ms, but everything else is in microseconds. So I should push an update which changes this to 40000
Okay, but in combination with this, we need to tell IR Scrutinizer that we are NEC, and some of this is a repeat frame. So first just copy the initial unique block which is:
    +9119 -4487 +612 -505 +606 -505 +611 -505 +607 -505 +611 -505 +611 -505 +607 -505 +611 -1630 +611 -1629 +611 -1630 +611 -1629 +612 -1629 +611 -1630 +607 -1634 +607 -1629 +612 -505 +611 -505 +607 -1633 +607 -1634 +606 -505 +620 -496 +611 -1630 +611 -500 +611 -505 +611 -1630 +611 -505 +607 -505 +611 -1629 +611 -1629 +612 -505 +607 -1629 +611 -1630 +611
When you scrutinize, Options->Output (Raw With Signs). We get the following:
    Freq=38029Hz[+9119,-4487,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-50000][][]
But this is not correct, we will add our repeat frame. And add the standard NEC delay 40ms, and the second frame:
    Freq=38029Hz[+9119,-4487,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-576,+576,-1630,+576,-1630,+576,-40000][+9119 -2209 +612,-95000][]
Paste that into IR Scrutinizer, and get the hex:
    0000 006D 0022 0002 015B 00AB 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003E 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003E 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 0016 0016 003E 0016 003E 0016 05F1 015B 0054 0017 0E1D
I corrected everything and attached a new file. Please give this a try. Great job nonetheless.
