Why is the thermal pad so small? The PI 5 heat sink is a slightly different, rounded design compared to the Pi4 and previous iterations. The pad has been shaped to match up with the rounded bump out of the Pi 5, and thermal tests have been run with that shape in mind. Hi everyone, I’m using the Flirc case for the Raspberry Pi 5 and love its passive-cooling design, but I’ve run into two small issues that I hope the community can help me solve: Power Button Too Short When assembling the case, you slot the tiny side-mounted power button into place before securing the Pi with the screws. On my unit, that button barely protrudes once everything is tightened, so it’s hard to press without digging a fingernail in. Placed an order directly via the website for some Pi 4 case on 3/17. A week later there is no movement on the website that shows the order has shipped. I've sent request for an update via the web form and received a canned response via email. I replied to that email but still no response. Calling the phone number listed on the website just goes to some generic phone menu which then goes to a voicemail. I just need to know if what I ordered is out of stock so I can order elsewhere.

What is the deal with availability on the Silver Pi5 case?

Hi, looking to buy a new case for a Pi5, obviously to build an htpc. Having a lot of good experience with Flirc USB on previous builds, I was thinking that the Flirc case would have Flirc USB functionality and/or the possibility to power on by remote (just as the TV). Can't find anything about this in the specs. Did I miss something? Is there a solution to this that would work with/fit into the Flirc case? Thanks!

This may be a silly question but how do I know if the film is missing on the thermal pad? The pad was stuck to the plastic bag it came in and in the video it implies that the film is a different colour to the pad. My pad is just a monotone (putty) colour and when I’ve tried to peel any film that may be there I’m just picking at the edge of the pad which is then crumbling. If the film is not there can I still use the pad? I know the film is to be removed but would the film not being there mean that the pad will have degraded and not bond properly to the chip and case? Hi all, I noticed my Flirc RPi4 case's top/bottom black plastic bits are kind of .. melted/sticky to touch. The environment it's in isn't that hot, but the RPi itself does get hot often from use (around 40-50c), to which the case also gets hot - as expected, since it's a passive-cooling case. It leaves fingerprint marks when I touch it - feeling sticky. Could this be a manufacturing issue that may need to be looked into for future versions? Anything I can do about this? It looks like I can't start a topic in the RPi4 section anymore. And since there are Pi-Hole Flirc cases for the RPi5, I figured they look similar enough to maybe show my new redundant Pi-Hole DNS setup in RPi 4 Pi-Hole Flirc cases here :) My previous Pi-Hole setup hung a few times over the past year and it was causing issues with DNS lookups. It just completely died yesterday. Lucky thing that I prepared for this and had ordered two RPi4 Pi-Hole Flirc cases. I was able to move to a redundant setup which looks great thanks to Flirc!

This is for a model 3 Pi but that forum seems to be locked. As per the title, the plastic on the top and bottom pieces has become very sticky as they age. I am now using the case without a bottom or a top. Can you consider sharing the design files for these pieces so I can print replacements? Paul

I have several Flirc cases, among which 2 Kodi versions. I thought Kodi was the only special release you had. But then I found the Pi-Hole cases! (which are not featured on flirc.tv?) It makes me wonder, are there any other Flirc brand cases like that that I am not aware of? And if not, would you be open to a poll maybe to see if people would be open to different "tops" so to say? Even just for fun to see which ones would be most popular. With the L shaped PoE hat for the Raspberry Pi 5, would it be possible to add PoE HAT compatibility to the FLIRC Raspberry Pi 5 case? It should be able to get around the aluminum that comes down to the SOCs. This has been a wish list item for me for a while now.

What is the heat performance for the Kodi case with its large heat source versus a good cooling fan like the EDATec CM5 Active Cooler or the official Raspberry Pi 5 fan? Thanks. P.S. A nice case but I probably will try and mount a NVMe if the SDcard is not fast enough.

I couldn't find a solid answer anywhere else, so I figured I would ask the guys who make it. Typically an all metal box hamstrings Wi-Fi signals, so is there enough of a gap to allow it to operate?

I bought a slightly used Pi 5 Flirc case, which came with the thermal pad attached to the case. The Pi when placed into the case apparently didn't reach the pad as it could slide around unimpeded. Can you suggest a fix, please?

Hi! I just set up two Pi 5s in Flirc cases. I noticed both of them were wobbling on the table after assembly (and reassembly). After taking a closer look I found that one of the supports for the PCB is slightly higher than the other three. It's the same support that has this issue on both of my cases, so perhaps a consistent manufacturing defect? I checked with digital calipers and could measure approximately 0.3 to 0.4 mm additional height on this support vs the other three. As you can see in the photo, there's an uneven look to the support, where the part closest to the bridge is visibly higher. I solved this on my cases by carefully filing down the excess metall a…

Hello, Is there a difference between both sides of the pad? I'm asking this because both sides have a different film, one side transparent and one side bubbly, and the instruction video mentions a top and bottom film. That way it appears as if the sides of the pad are different and that it matters in which way you stick the pad on the CPU. Thanks in advance for clarifying! Regards, Jeremy

I just love the design of the flirc case but thought it would be impossible to use one together with any of the available NVMe adapter boards for the Raspberry Pi 5. Then I saw this post at the pimoroni forums: https://forums.pimoroni.com/t/nvme-base-flex-cable/24576 Could it be possible to fit that (or any other) NVMe adapter into the Flirc case? Did anyone try? Is it planned to release an updated Flirc case which has room for such an adapter?

I just received a Flirc case for the Raspberry Pi 5 that I had ordered, and noticed that the thermal pad was quite small, barely half the size of that square area on the case that goes on top of the cpu. Is this normal, or should the pad in fact be bigger?

I have the Pi 5 Case and there is a small adapter for the button and LED. It's not clear to me how to install this in the case or on the board. Does anyone know how it's assembled?
