  1. If there was a power surge, it's very likely the unit could be damaged. You should make sure you have a surge protector on the line into the pi, I don't have anything for such an event on my device. Feel free to reach out to me for a replacement.
  2. can you post a pic to your comcast infinity remote? fstrife, I'm going to pick one of these up, I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for posting a link.
  3. You can over-ride any keys you would like. Simply load the harmony profile, and record them again (even though they are already mapped). This is intentional. There are a lot of problems with the current profile, and I'm very aware of them. I'm in touch with logitech, and we are cleaning it up and working on new profiles. I don't have a timeline, but will definitely make an announcement on the blog. Thanks Duren.
  4. Logitech has issued recent updates to their remotes, make sure you update your profiles. As for other remotes, it's strictly amazon's issue. It's their keyboard input delay. It's like 40ms or something stupid. If you grab their remote they sell with the fire tv and emulate pushing the button as you would a larger gummy remote button, it also feels sticky. I've told them, and can only convince them when enough people complain to them. I can't do anything on my end. It would be a hack for a single device that would cause problems on everything else. I keep in touch with them, so maybe I can convince them sooner than later.
  5. Just got in more yesterday. Fixed and updated. Thank you for pointing that out. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  6. make sure the gui is closed. Unplug, then plug in the device.
  7. were you manually pairing remote control buttons or are you using the built in profiles only?
  8. shoot me an email: flirc.tv/contact
  9. when you try to map a key, the GUI says, "press any key to pair with 'x',". Do you mean you hit a remote control button and nothing is pairing? Can you try a different remote? If the second remote doesn't work, let me know. We'll get you a replacement.
  10. what kind of remote, and what kind of device?
  11. that doesn't really work anymore, I'll disable that and it's only there as a backup. Go to file->advanced, and do a force firmware upgrade.
  12. flirc.tv/contact
  13. Could very well be the usb port in your laptop. Maybe it's ultra noisy, or under powered. If you had a hub, you can try that. Otherwise I'm really not sure why it would be acting up. I've never heard of this misbehavior and I'm really very sorry for all the trouble. You also shouldn't need to program or pair xbmc keys, they are pre-pared with the flirc. Just add the xbmc harmony profile, and that should be it. Make sure you are on the latest firmware which is 3.6. Again, really sorry about all this. = (
  14. There is a known issue with usb 3.0 and windows with a certain NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 controller. If you update your drivers, it will get fixed. I can also send you a gui with logging to try and get to the bottom of this. I'm working on trying to make this detection better, but it's a pretty tough problem. Let us know.
  15. With the new version of the firmware, I'm fairly certain we solved the issues with repeaters. I haven't heard any complaints since.
  16. I can't make them fast enough. I have some in stock, I'll update my store front. But later this week distributors should be stocked.
  17. Can I take care of it. I would like to get a hold of the unit. Could you also tell me what kind of remote you are using.
  18. No not at all. You can record them from any and all. Make sure you are on firmware 3.6 too.
  19. yay! Thanks Yawor for helping out.
  20. Very odd indeed. And only exists on one computer? You could try messing with that computer's key repeat rate.
  21. There is a Flirc - FireTV profile in harmony control center. It's in the media center category.
  22. Let's try a couple things before getting you a replacement. Do you have the TV or lights on while recording. Flirc is so sensitive, it could be picking up a bunch of noise. Make sure you on firmware version 3.6, head to the Flirc GUI, go to advanced, and do a force upgrade. When you see the bootloader version as it upgrades, can you let me know what it is? Should be 2.0 or 2.1. Once the upgrade is complete, do a file->clear configuration. Then start over. You should not have to reinstall drivers for this to work correctly. It shows up as a USB keyboard, so it's not necessary at all. Let me know if the latest firmware helps. I'll get it worked out, shouldn't be this painful.
  23. msjaxjag, why wasn't the harmony firetv profile working?
