  1. Nope, that's exactly it and it's working. The idea is, if I had to do something custom which applications then had to support, then I'd have to wait for the application developers to integrate flirc support. However, if you mimic a keyboard, then flirc works with any application. All applications support keyboard strokes. So find the shortcuts you want to use to control VLC, and pair those with your remote. Does that make sense?
  2. No way to extract it, think of it as a compressed representation of the signal that can't be uncompressed.
  3. if you have the latest firmware, this should work. Try changing your interkey delay in the advanced settings to 6, assuming you are on version 2.x.
  4. shoot me an email via support at flirc dot tv. We'll get you a new one asap, doesn't sound right.
  5. did some looking at it at home, not sure what to make of it yet. Those buttons are definitely the same. Have another remote you can try to verify the flirc isn't bad?
  6. really sorry you are having trouble, can you record your left button, save the config, erase the config, then another button, and save it again? Could you post both those saved files?
  7. a. this isn't really possible with flirc yet. it can be in a firmware release, but I don't have it planned at the moment. b. you'll need to use something like event ghost to launch an application with a custom remote command
  8. if your computer is not in a cabinet, you don't even need to do this.
  9. looks fine to me. Is that the output in a wandboard?
  10. I'll use this to extend the GUI to include a built in profile for FireTV. Thanks Tony.
  11. I'm will to try anything. If you want to ping me on gchat, jasonkotzin, I'll give you some firmware images to try. One quick test, you have built-in-profiles enabled in your configuration. Could you head to the advanced section of your gui, and disable that if you're not using the built in harmony xbmc profile?
  12. Basically, flirc shows up to the fire tv as a keyboard. So just use the keyboard controller view of my application, pair them with your remote, and you can use it on your amazon. I don't have any list of shortcuts for the firetv, but it's definitely on my list of stuff to do.
  13. Try this: https://flirc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200904676-Getting-flirc-to-wake-up-your-computer
  14. Thanks so much for the followup, keep me posted. I'll do whatever it takes to get rid of this problem.
  15. The apt-source is not currently live, you have to use the direct download on the site. I'll try and fix it soon. For now, just download the linux package and follow the instructions on the site. Also, make sure you have the latest libusb package. That error is because that's an old library. Looks like the device is stuck in the bootloader. If you have a windows machine, pop it in, and you can use it on linux with no additional software required.
  16. There is a wake key on the keyboard controller view. Attached a screenshot and highlighted that for you.
  17. As far as realtime troubleshooting, we can get on gchat and iterate over firmware attempts (if this is pretty repeatable)
  18. I released an update that may address what people are seeing, firmware v2.6, please give that a shot and let me know. Again, if someone can volunteer to help in troubleshooting this a bit more realtime, I'd be very grateful and can send you a raspberry pi and free flirc on the house once this gets solved.
  19. Can you describe the behavior when the flirc gets stuck? Does it do it on it's own, or after pressing a button? When it does it, is it random presses? Or continuation of the last key? This is probably different from what other people are seeing.
  20. Shouldn't have to do that. If you are experiencing that, is it only after you are pressing buttons with your remote that you get this endless repeat?
  21. Anyone that is experiencing this and it's quickly reproduced, could you please let me know. I need someone to work with me to help solve this. We can knock it out pretty quickly.
  22. Awesome, so glad you are up and running, let me know if you run into any more issues.
