  1. Ok so I just fired up the app, plugged in the remote, and the "Synced" button is ticked and grayed out. I cannot tell it to sync. The example I keep hitting is when I fine tune something, e.g I fired up the app, made a changed to how often a code is repeated, from 1 to 3, then plugged in the remote, and I cannot sync. Change it back from 3 to 1, still nothing, now change it from 1 to 3 (with the remote plugged in) only then can I sync the change. So maybe there is some version checking on the remotes code, in the app that's not firing the button to ungray itself. And maybe this needs fixing, to show when a change needs to be sync'd. My request was just to have the option to do a manual sync even if everything appears the same. Happy to go into further detail of log if that's needed to see why it's not offering a sync when a change is made.
  2. Ah.... I thought that delay was related to the repeat option.... I was expecting a delay between commands, to be just that something you drag across between actions. So there is no way to control how quickly a signal repeats then.... Thanks for confirm how to do it currently.
  3. That would be a start but how do you get those options to appear. I'm on the latest (Windows) version, so slightly confused.
  4. As promised I dug out and re-setup an esp8266 with an IR receiver. That setup happily picked up the remote, and gave me the pronto codes for it. Then with a copy of the Manhattan file you created as a template, created the attached file. I don't know all the coding options so I've stuck this into Misc group. I also initially noted the file didn't import, and then when I checked it was due to the oddities when the codes were captured, reduced it to one key, slowly adding each until I found the failed one. If this import process is to hang around, maybe more error reporting would be useful (e.g. button code X invalid for example). When added to the remote, and sure most people with these will know, the Light adjustment is odd, the icons suggest low/high, but mine seem to be one button for light on/off and the other just adjusts the level, if you keep pressing very very slowly adjusts the lights brightness level from Max to Min and back to Max. Not sure if there is a long/held press option coming, but this is an example of where it would be useful. All that said it controls the fan speeds perfectly, lights do adjust. Now just going to ponder how to add that to the remotes in a format I can remember (if we can expand the buttons available when you use of the colour dial or something else would be useful for climate options) I hope this is useful to the community. Westinghouse Light Fan ID6.json
  5. The Westinghouse ID 6 remotes they used for their ceiling lights/fans. Just when you try to capture the codes it comes back with "too many edges" in the flirc debug screen, with I suspect partial information. The Logitech Harmony's do somehow support this, but I remember trying to do this a while back, to deal with another issue I had with one fan, and using an Esp I ran into an issue with the protocol used - "Symphony", and after much searching did find a feature request on the esphome site. https://github.com/esphome/feature-requests/issues/1633 I suspect its not something that can added (at this time at least), but just asking if there are any options with this that you know of? Are there any suggestions or options with the flirc hardware to try to capture the full codes, if so please let me know either way. Happy to do what I can to help produce a working codes. I can also re-setup the ESP-IR rig I had, and try to see if I can capture the raw codes again over the weekend and post them next week in case they are useful. Thanks,
  6. I think I've tried all of the Toshiba remotes in the app (apologies if I missed one), but can't find one that matches the Toshiba CT-90326 Remote and is used on the Toshiba 19EL833B. So I have scanned in the codes on the off chance there is time to try converting the codes for input. Hopefully this is useful for other people as well. Thanks an advance appreciate there is a lot going on. Toshiba CT-90326.txt
  7. Ah that explains it I just thought I had a missing setting. Sounds like a useful tool and assume part of the learning tools to come later. Nice work.
  8. That works perfectly, all the codes work, as expected. Thank you. I wish I knew what you were doing to massage the data in IrScruntinizer, as I've never been able to replicate the codes you produce from the same scanned codes. But what ever it is. It works great. Thank you again.
  9. Not sure this helps, but found this in the event viewer.... (I so wish this was a linux I hate the event viewer). ----------- Faulting application name: SkipApp.exe, version: 0.9.72.0, time stamp: 0x642744b3 Faulting module name: twinapi.appcore.dll, version: 10.0.22621.755, time stamp: 0x29c0c66b Exception code: 0xc000027b Fault offset: 0x000000000010c85e Faulting process ID: 0x0x5678 Faulting application start time: 0x0x1D967D31F6805F9 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\SkipApp_0.9.72.5855_x64__sddpyax1dmvqm\SkipApp.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\twinapi.appcore.dll Report ID: 5bb5fc8c-2b02-468e-a874-b2fab81b64ba Faulting package full name: SkipApp_0.9.72.5855_x64__sddpyax1dmvqm Faulting package-relative application ID: App ----------- If you can't reproduce the error let me know, and I'll try and dig a little deeper here
  10. With the export of the remote configuration. Its a good way to share the configuration between machines. What's odd is windows 10 is ok, doesn't mind you exporting to a OneDrive. Likewise exporting on Windows 11, to a non OneDrive directory. The worst part is how it just killed the application stone dead, without letting it write a log.
  11. Promise last idea for the day (hopefully). When creating a power up macro, there are times it would be nice to wait for x seconds before doing the next step. The example would be a tv that takes 20 seconds to power up, then select the desired hdmi input.
  12. I suspect this is an easy one, currently you can assign a remote code, to only 3 buttons? Can this be more? Why a limit? It's rare I agree, but if you were wanting to reset an activity start and finish with "Menu home" of a device, but that's also used in two places elsewhere on the remote you cant (The example of this is the roku, by default the wizard assigns home to the Home and List buttons on the skip).
  13. Still having issues saving to OneDrive directories on Windows 11 Pro. App just stops writes nothing to the logs or the file. (I did provide logs about this in a previous release).
  14. I was just logging a possible problem with a remote, and wanted to share the version of firmware etc and I had to either screen shot/crop and post an image or manually type the info (with possible typo's). So is it possible to make any useful information, you'd want, when we log a problem, something we can highlight/copy to make it easier for us to post details.
  15. While testing the Manhattan remote (thank you for helping with the codes). I noticed an issue. Because the skip remote has a single Play/Pause button (that works on so many devices), what happens to those like the Manhattan that has distinct codes for Play and Pause. The only idea I came up with, was if the remote can toggle between Play and Pause - so sending out different codes on each press. To help sanity would suggest when an activity is started it defaults to Play when you start the activity.
  16. With the App, it seems to resync so fast, its sometimes not clear if a change has been made. So would be be possible to either have a resync key, so we can manually do this, or have it manual so you always have to click sync.
  17. Maybe I've missed something, but on occasion it would be nice to just assign devices, and either have no actions pre-assigned or a way to clear all buttons so you can have a clean slate. Edit: Ah just found it in the Management Section... might be worth having a link to that from the button screen as well or maybe merging this with the editing. While the Tips is nice, after a while that's just wasted space, so maybe the some of those management tools could be a presented there (have the Tips as a collapsible with the "tools" as a second item below it.
  18. I've seen other people post they have the power button used for switching modes between activities, which I agree with most posters, I'd rather the Activity button does that. But skipping over that. My problem is more basic. I've tried to assigned lots of things to my power button and the remote never sends ANY data out. I have the flirc running in debug mode and I'm seeing nothing come out of the remote. Is this a firmware issue? I'm on: Remote Model skip.1s.release.a05 Firmware 4.12.10-0-ga6a774d Edit: I've now tested my second skip remote, and this does send data when the power button is pressed with the same model and firmware release. Edit2: Tried to reset the unit, removed it from the account and now I can't sync, and get "An Error occurred while synchronizing".... Edit3: After many heart stopping moments with firmware, the app crashing and weird complaining, got flashed to: 4.12.11-4-g394f15d And now the remote seems to send data again. Not sure if the firmware, or the repeated battery removals, resyncs did something. But Ok for now.
  19. Just completed some testing. Initially just added the new remote to the existing activity. And then using a second activity to test all of the other buttons that wasn't mapped on the first try (I have a feature request on that one I'll post in a bit). So what I found (and checked both files) was I think a copy/paste failure when you processed them, and the Menu Info button was given the code for Menu Guide, its so easy to copy the wrong one or not copy and paste twice - I lost count the number of times I did this copying on the mac and then pasting it into the PC (that and needing to switch keys from cmd to ctrl - in case you are wondering Symless's Synergy virtual KVM so so handy). Plus while I had both remotes out and testing functions I checked the Vol+/-/Mute and those do things on the box. I never knew that was a thing as always use my amp to control sound. So apologies for missing those. So I've scanned all four buttons to make life easier (I hope) and created a new file just with them. When you get a chance if you can take a look at the codes and add them in and I'm happy to. This raised a couple of general questions so I will post them in the other areas if you can take a look I'd be interested in your feedback. Thanks again Manhattan T3-R Remote IR Codes pt2.txt
  20. Much appreciated. I'll get this all tested in the morning and get you some feedback.
  21. As promised, codes for the Manhattan T3-R remote. If anything needs redoing please let me know. More than happy to help out. Manhattan T3-R Remote IR Codes.txt
  22. As I've posted elsewhere the flirc software on Windows, Norton is (wrongly) getting flagged up as a virus and getting instantly deleted. It would be useful if that can be checked and confirmed all is ok, before I do a leap of faith and ignore the warnings. Just anything is possible with viruses no matter how careful everyone is, and one may have gotten in without getting noticed. The Mac version isn't reporting any issues and working ok, so I will post full list of codes shortly.
  23. Watching with interest. I have Flirc if someone could just tell me how to record them.
  24. I think the app calls it the stream key (multi coloured button above Mute). If I understand it, that enables you to bind new remotes onto the direction keys. Would it be possible to be able to enable it so you could add extra functions to any key on the remote.
  25. Quick updates on this version. Same issue on Windows 11 Pro as morphx, assuming white on white text for selections. Export to One drive issue as reported (with logs) on a previous beta is still present. You save to a one drive path, and it crashes the application, writes nothing to the file or the log from what I can see. I did also leave a question about supported macOS version a while back, and I see above taeb, asks about 10.14. Assuming you've not gone backwards on your development platform, I noted before that this was 10.15+ above only. Can you please advise on what minimum's your development software will create going forward please. I see new remotes added, is there still a plan to have a climate section, (which for some reason I feel there was in an earlier release - has that been renamed as Home Automation). Either way, I still have some Westinghouse fan remotes I'd like to get included, I have a FLIRC, although the software keep flagging up on download as a virus by Norton.. so kind of stuck. Seen other people doing something but I keep missing the details of how they are learning remote codes. Perhaps an FAQ on what to do could be pinned somewhere (with the normal "beware of dragons" statements if people do this and it breaks). On the timeline for features. Is there anything that can be shared to indicated when things are going to appear, e.g. - Learning Remotes codes - Update to the activity selection (so you press A it selects the inputs for A, and press B it selects the inputs for B.etc) The turn everything off, change activity and turn it all on isn't as useful when you are just switching sources and device that controls the content (e.g. A - tv+amp+set top box, b - tv+amp+roku c - tv+amp+bluray.) Not holding anyone to dates, just a vague order or x months time, would be nice (assuming nothing else jumps in the way). Just currently at least for, these are just a pair of paperweights which is a shame as the hardware feels nice. Understand you are busy, but do look forward to some maybe brief answers, and do understand the actual fixes will take longer. Cheers, EDIT: Sorry just noticed the above issues are for 0.9.72, please do move this to the new thread when its created. And add an oddity with the Stream button, when you select it to add remotes to the direction pad, the icon is about 3 times the size, and aligned with the button top left.
